I spent the rest of the day on the floor of my cell in silence. The constant memory of Loki trying to come to my aid replaying on my injured mind as the pain continued to throb between my legs. Servants had brought round the evenings gruel along with a pitiful look as a new gown was placed in my cell. I stood to my feet and walked towards the new dress before pulling it gingerly over my head and allowing the cloth to fall across my body.

"Why didn't you tell me what they were really doing Zeanna?" Loki asked softly as his gaze caught mine as I sat on my bed. "What could you do?" I replied more like a question to myself than him. The god sighed before walking forward and looking down at his leather clad legs. "I tried all I could from this god forsaken cell" he stated looking disappointed at himself. I rubbed my arms attempting to wash the chill from my skin. "It's okay, you did all you could and I'm grateful for that, all you've shown me is care and I cannot thank you enough, because I would have been in an already darker place than I currently am" I answered looking to him with a slight smile admiring his handsome features.

I could see Loki looking at me intently. "I will never understand why you see comfort in me" Loki commented. I stood up sharply confused as to where he'd gotten my deepest thoughts from. I shook my head beginning to deny what he was saying, red highlighting my cheeks. "I know I shouldn't have" he began as I continued to watch him walk to the seat in his cell" but every time you looked at me with content and safety I couldn't help but delve into your mind and learn what you truly thought of me" I could feel my skin burning crimson. "I'm angry at myself for not looking deeper and finding what was causing you pain. I was too vain and wanted to see why you liked me. Honestly, I'm flattered, but I can't help but be confused as to why, I mean I am a cruel, heartless, mass murderer" he finished looking to me with a mischievous smirk and clasped hands.

I brushed a strand of hair behind my ear, attempting to hide the embarrassment that painted my face. "I never expected your help Loki but I knew from the first time you saw me in the throne room that you knew something wasn't right. Your eyes didn't feast across my body like the guards did and when we were first across from one another in these cells you never once showed me an immense amount of hostility. You never knew what truly happened to me until now, but you never allowed yourself to drop the problem. By reading to me, telling me your memories and then threatening the guards because of the torture they put me through, it's all because I know you care and I can't shake that thought because all I want is to be safe and that means to be near you" I sighed finishing my explanation. My chest was rapidly rising from my heightened anxiety as I told Loki how I truly felt.

The silence continued for a moment before Loki finally spoke up. "Say it, say what you truly feel" he asked standing up and placing his hand on the force field, I took a shakey step forward and copied his actions with my own hand. "I think I'm falling for you Loki" I whispered before gazing into his eyes. A smile crept across his face. "And I believe I'm falling for you" he replied softly.
