Slowly Dying

Chapter 40

Stacey's POV

I was really really scared for Nicole. She didn't deserve this. I can't believe that someone actually took her. It was so cruel. I loved her so much. She was pretty amazing and so kind to everyone. I wish she's okay.

I got out of the car and went inside. I've been looking for her ever since she went missing and I've hardly slept. I went inside and Mum was on the table and Dad had to go work as he had missed so much days off already. She had bags under her eyes. I went to her and hugged her. She smiled at me, she was staying strong for us all.

"You need to sleep, darling," she said.

I just shrugged. It was 8AM so there wasn't really any point sleeping. I grabbed a piece of toast on the counter and munched it down. I went upstairs to shower and then I'd continue to look for her. The police are useless so I'll have to look for her myself.

I showered and wore jeans and a tank top. I put on a jacket and wore my converse. I tied my hair up and put some makeup to make my face look more awake. I went downstairs to see Mum getting ready for work. She also had to get back to work today or she could get fired at her firm. She was putting on lipstick and tying her hair up.

Knock knock

There was someone here and I ran to open the door. I opened it and there stood a girl. She had blonde hair and was wearing shorts and a tank top. She looked extremely gorgeous and I let her in.

"Hi, Mrs Parkinson," she said to Mum.

"Hi," Mum replied, unsure who she was.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm Nicole's friend, as soon as I heard she was missing, I was on the first flight back from Spain. I was on holiday but I want to help find her," she said.

She starting crying and my heart broke. She looked like she really missed her. I hugged her and asked if she was okay. I gave her tissues and told her she could come with me to find her. Mum stroked her hair and said she had to go.

"Oh wait, what did you say your name was, honey?" Mum asked her.

"Chloe," she replied.

Mum left the house and Chloe and I went to the car and we began driving far from town to see if we could possibly find her or the van that she was taken in.

We returned home after several of hours. It was dark and we had not found anything. I decided that we'd go to Adam's house and keep him up to date.

"Do you know Nicole boyfriend?" I asked her.

Her face hardened and she nodded. I told her we'd go see him. She nodded and we headed to his house. I knocked on his door and his Dad opened it. He let me in and I took Chloe straight to his room.

Adam was slumped on his bed half naked. He saw me and continued staring into space. He then saw Chloe come in and he looked angry.

"Wait, Chloe's come all the way back from Spain to look for Nicole, she's helping us," I explained to him.

He nodded and got up. Chloe sat next to him and I sat opposite him on the couch. Adam started sobbing into his hands. He was distressed without Nicole. Chloe patted his back and hugged him, trying to comfort him.

I told her that I was going to go. She nodded and said that she'd stay with Adam. I left the room and drove straight home. I went in and Dad was talking to the Inspector and the police that were there. Mum looked exhausted and Mark was hugging her.

I really want Nicole to be found. I feel so sad without her. I love her so much. She's my only sister and she's bloody brilliant and absolutely gorgeous. I miss her.

She was alone and dying slowly. Everyone missed that she wasn't there. Yet she didn't know just how loved she was. She only thought of all the hate she was receiving. The hate that would drive her to her own death. The hate that would end the life of a beautiful girl. Unfair? It was. No one could stop it because she was the same girl. That girl that was breaking inside. She was the girl that was slowly dying...
