Nicole's POV

I can't believe I'm actually going to the winters ball with Adam! I've never been before and no one's ever asked me before as well. I am actually really excited and I can't wait. Me, Stacey and Selena are going shopping after school today to get a dress, jewellery and makeup.

Selena and I have gotten really close these past few weeks.  She's going out with Adam's best friend, Jason. She's really pretty and popular but she's not bitchy like the rest of the popular people. She stays with who she wants and hates Chloe and her friends, just like me. We always walk to lessons together because she's pretty much in most of my lessons.

"So, after school, shall I come to yours and then we go into central London to shop?" Selena asked.

"Yeah, my sisters taking us in her car," I said.

"Your sister is hella pretty and she even looks like you, babes!" Selena squealed.

"She looks nothing like me, hun" I said rolling my eyes.

At 5.00, I was at home waiting for Selena to come. Stacey and I was ready with £300 each from my dad. He wanted us to buy whatever we wanted and to be happy. I swear down I love him so much. He's amazing, right?

Selena knocked on the door and we all went in Stacey's car and drove to central London. I sat on the front and Selena sat on the back whilst Stacey drove.

"So Selena, how come I've never seen you before, Nic has never mentioned you before," Stacey said.

Why did she even have to say that. Oh my daysss! Thanks Stace!

"Well I've always wanted to get to know Nicole, she seemed so nice and she's in most my lessons but I've never seen her at break or at lunch but ever since I've been going out with Jase, I've seen more of her because Adam hangs around with Jason sometimes," Selena said.

"I've always been in the canteen at lunch times," I lied, I used to hide in the toilets from Chloe.

We arrived at the centre of London, literally. There was so many shops that glowed bright lights. Stacey parked up and we started to look at dresses from the shops.

I pretty much found the dress I wanted straight away. It was a short black dress that wasn't too short and it had golden studs on the back with small red flowers imprinted on the side. It was gorgeous. The price of it was £105 and I went to pay whilst Stace helped Selena get a dress for her.

When she got her dress, we went to look for makeup. Stacey was trying out some of the testers on Selena when I went to find a Makeup Artist that worked here. I found one pretty much straight away.

"Hi, I was wondering if you have a foundation that has a high coverage," I said.

"But you have perfect skin darling!" He said.

"It's not for my face," I said, quietly.

I rolled up a bit of my sleeve and he looked shocked to see the scars on my arm. I needed something to cover it because the dress that I was going to wear has no sleeves and I don't want anyone seeing my scars. His face saddened and he looked at the makeup collection behind him and pulled a bottle out.

"Try this, it's a Dermacol Skin Foundation, it's supposed to cover tattoos but it would work the same way, hun," he said, giving me the bottle.

"How much would that be?" I asked.

"It's on the house, babes," he said.

"Thank you," I said to him, I smiled at him and I went to find Stacey.

I found Stacey and Selena and they were just looking at MAC lipsticks.

"Oh Nic, I've bought all your makeup that you'll need," Stacey squealed, showing me a big bag that looked really heavy.

We went to a few more shops to get jewellery and shoes and then we headed home. Stacey dropped Selena off at her home first and then we went home.

I fell asleep that night feeling like everything was finally going to be good and I was going to be happy at last.

Little did Nicole know things weren't going to plan. Little did Adam know what was going to happen to her. She wasn't ever going to be happy. Granted, he could make her happy. But lots more people could make her unhappy. For she was slowly dying...
