Lo'ak just turned 17, with his brother passing away 3 years ago. Even though he still felt like he had killed his brother, the guilt was starting to fade as he got closer with tsireya. She made him feel less like an outcast, and more like he was actually part of the clan. Till one day when with tsireya , 3 navis from the reef clan came in just like he did a few years ago. It was Akeya, tsireyas younger cousin. Her family had just come back from travelling the past few years,apparently due to the conflict with the sky people. After they came,sky people started hunting animals. First tulkuns but eventually All of them. Akeya was only 13, quite troublesome like Lo'ak was. An outcast. She never really got on with anyone else. Just relied on tsireya to cover for her. Lo'ak noticed. She was exactly like him. He worried she would do what he did and get tsireya killed.
