Jennifer's POV.

"Baby." "Mom! How are you? Why are you here?" She asked Laura, she looked pretty worried. "I- I guess the baby was having some difficulties breathing and they took her away so I'm waiting for April to come out to the recovery room. I'm- I'm not really sure what's going on, I-" she broke into tears right before finishing. Oh god.

"Mom, it's okay... everything is going to be okay." She hugged her mom and looked at me with her eyes wide open, not really knowing what to do or say. She was also scared. I had this amazing idea.

"I'll be right back." I went to the place where Leah was the other time with this kid, maybe she was there.

"Ma'am, you cannot be here." I heard behind me and I kept on walking. "Ma'am!" I walked faster and there she was, I knew it. "Ma'am, stop!" This person yelled loud enough for Leah to turn around. "Hey, chill, it's okay... she's with me. And please lower your voice, there are sick kids in here." Leah said. "But-" "What?" She raised her eyebrow and then narrowed her eyes. "Doctor Remini..." some nurse said and this security guard was lost for words. "I'm sorry. I'll be more careful next time." He said and Leah nodded.

"Why are you doing here, Jennifer?" She was back to the chart she was writing on.
"I- well, hi..." I said but she didn't even look up. I sighed. "Ally' sister is here, and she gave birth so her daughter was taken away because she had some breathing problems or something like that." I finished. She nodded. "Hm, Miranda?" "Yes." "She's fine. It's a normal thing with newborns. She's okay, she will be back with her mother soon enough. She's over there." She pointed at some room filled with babies. It was massive. "Can I walk over?" I asked hoping for a yes. "Put this on." She gave me a blue coat and a mask. We walked over the little baby who was connected to some machines. "Are you sure she's okay?" I asked and looked at her. She didn't even try to look at me. She was staring at the baby. "Well, are you?" She giggled, "She's fine. She just needed a little bit of oxygen, it's completely normal, we needed to monitor her." "Okay...she's so beautiful." I said. Leah nodded. "I gotta go tell them the baby is fine. They are really concerned." "I was finishing that chart and I was going to talk to them. But if you wanna do it, go ahead." She said and started walking away. "Are you okay?" I asked walking behind her. "I am." "Are you sure?" "Fuck! Yes. Stop asking questions. Go and tell them the baby is fine." "But- is this because I left that day?" I insisted. "You're so persistent for someone who doesn't like to share things. oh, my god!" She said and I smiled widely. "Wanna talk?" I asked and she looked at me, finally. She bit her lip and tilted her head. "Go tell them the baby is okay and I'll meet you at the cafeteria that's on the rooftop in ten." she said, closed the chart and started walking away. I smiled to myself and walked out of there to go tell the news to Ally and her mom, Laura.

-

"She's going to be back with April in no time. She's okay. She just needed a little more assistance." I told them the good news and I saw how they got calm right away. "Thank you for that, Jennifer. I was going crazy." Laura, Ally's mom, told me. "It's okay, just rest, go eat something. April is under recovery right now and will be sent to her room in a few hours. I'll stay over, if there's anything I'll let you guys know." I smiled softly. "Okay good. Thank you, Jenny. Ally, do you wanna go have dinner with me? I mean- I assume Jen is going somewhere else." She looked at me. I nodded. "Okay, let's go for dinner." Ally said looking at me and raising her eyebrows. I grinned. "Love you! Text me if you need anything." I said. "Same goes to you." She replied back and walked away with her mom.
