Jennifer's POV.

"What? Why don't you mind your own business?" Alexa said and that was about to make it worse. Great.

Unnecessary shit.

"Excuse you?" Leah laughed, "she's my business. Maybe you didn't know, but she got a girlfriend. Well...she had. So you may as well continue with what you were doing. I'm leaving." She said sounding so mad and she started walking away.

"Jen, I'm sorry, I- I didn't know." She was really concerned. I gave her a look, "didn't I tell you to stop? Damnit." I stood up and grabbed my purse. "I'm sorry." She apologized again. "That's not going to fix this. Ugh, whatever." I started walking away and out of the bar. When I did I was just looking for Leah. I spotted her car and noticed she was not there. I still decided to walk over it and then I heard it, someone was sniffing. I walked all the way to the back of the car and there she was.

"I'm sorry. I swear it was just that and I tried to pull away. I'm truly sorry, it didn't mean anything." I tried explaining.
"You literally ruined my night. I went out of a 7 hours surgery and I just wanted to have a nice night with my girl, but she was having a nice night with someone else. How great." "Leah, don't put it that way. I swear it didn't mean anything. She did it, I tried stopping her it lasted 2 seconds and well, my luck is shit, you happened to be there when it did. It seriously meant nothing. Please believe me." I begged. She looked at me and wiped her tears away. She just looked at me.

"Who's her?" "My coworker. Alexa." I responded, I sighed, "she likes me, that's why she did that. She took advantage I was tipsy, kinda drunk," I giggled, but Leah was still sobbing, "so she kissed me. But that was it, I swear, Leah. I'm sorry, please stop crying, baby. I should've never come in first place." "It's not that, it's not like you're never going to go out, and I know it wasn't your fault, you're way more than just tipsy." "I know, I let myself go. I'm sorry, I know I screwed it up. Please stop crying." "I'm sorry about the tears," she laughed just a little and looked away, "I'm an emotional mess right now and it's been a while since I've felt like this." "What is it?" I asked. "It's just, I don't like the thought of someone else having you, I hate the thought of it...I-" she shook her head. I just hugged her. "I'm yours right now, I'm sorry you had to see that, it was not meant to be and I'm pretty much upset with her. I told her not to, I told her to stop." "Jen, it's alright, it was just a kiss. It didn't mean anything. Just forget it. Come here..." "I'm sorry, I love you, Leah." "I love you too, baby." She said as she hugged me oh so tight.

"Take me home with you." I whispered.

-

I woke up snuggled up to Leah's bare chest. It was a chill morning but in between sheets and the heat from our bodies, it was all better. I was so thankful it was Saturday and I didn't have to go to work and Leah was not on call, this was going to be a normal day, normal morning.

I started feeling her fingertips moving slowly on my back and I smiled and got even cozier.

"Morning..." she whispered with her husky voice. "Mmm, morning, baby. Can we just, stay in bed the whole day? I wanna have a lazy Saturday with you." "I need to work, on my laptop, but I need to. But that's only gonna take a couple of hours, other than that we'll do just what you're asking." She said and kissed my forehead.

-

"That's when I knew that was not the right treatment, I was like two years into the program and I had the balls to tell the resident that I was on service for that she was not right, that was not the right way. She ended up hating me but I had to step out for myself I mean, I wouldn't just let that woman die." She was talking about a breast cancer patient and I just loved to be there listening to every story she had to tell. Mostly all of her stories were about patients with cancer, that was interesting. It was so comforting to see how excited and professional she looked talking about her job, her eyes would shine.

"And then what? What happened with the woman who had cancer?" "She made it through it. Thank god. I was never put on this resident' service anymore and a couple of months after that she was fired because she messed something up with a patient, she didn't die but it was bad, I can't recall what it was but yeah..." she explained. "Sounds like karma." I smiled. "Right!? I know, it always hits you back." She shrugged.

"Jen I wanna ask you something..." she said and I turned the tv off. "What would it be?" I said and looked at her. "Well, I was thinking....hm...maybe you..." she sighed, "maybe you would want to move in with me? I am moving to an apartment and selling this house." "What? Why? You love your house." "I know I do, but...I don't wanna have a house and an apartment like, I don't really wanna." She explained and I laughed, "that's some big issue you got there, whether or not to just buy a department and also keep your house." I said and she smiled. "I may keep it but, I do wanna get an apartment. But- you haven't answered my question..." she turned me around so I could face her. "I- I would love to move in with you." I said. "You really mean that? I don't wanna push you, it's okay. Think about it." She smiled and hugged me, then took the remote from my hand and turned the tv back on.

Was I ready to do that?

I-
