Feeling better

                     The next morning hits me hard realizing Jace is not here anymore. Maryse probably buried him last night. I just can't go over to the institute or anywhere near there right now. It just hurts too much. Simon goes over to the nearest donut place and gets me a dozen of my favorite kind of donuts. I am so excited I almost forget what happened. We sit on Luke's couch all morning eating donuts and laughing and talking. He really does know how to take my mind off of things and make me happy. Simon decides to take me to Central Park. After the park he decided to take me over to Java Jones and we had the best time.

                    I see someone come in with pretty long brown hair and talking to a tall man who looks about her age. I can't think of who it is until I remember it is Tessa Gray and Jem Carstairs. I haven't seen them since mom and Luke's wedding. They see us and walk over after they get their coffee.

                         "Hey guys I haven't seen y'all in a long time. I have been wondering where you two have been" I say. It's so good to see them again. "Oh we have been around. Just lying low and trying to figure some things out. How have you two been?" Jem asks us. Me and Simon exchange glances. We silently decide not to mention Jace and everyone. "We have been good, we have been hanging around here and our training at he institute has been going really well." Simon says and I am thankful he is the one to talk not me. "Well I'm glad to hear that. I remember my training days. I had Gideon and Gabriel lightwood and Will absolutely hated them. Don't you remember them James?" Tessa asked Jem. Jem laughs before saying "Oh yes I remember quite well almost as if it was yesterday. I can't believe Herondales and Lightwoods have gone from hating each other to becoming parabatai. Speaking of Herondales , where is Jace?" Oh no I was hoping no one was going to ask about him. "Oh he uhh.. he passed away yesterday. Maryse could not bring herself to have Jace burned and put in the city of bones so she just buried him in the back of the institute." I said, it hurt me to talk about him, I wanted to cry. Simon felt my tension and hurt in my voice and he put an arm around me. I heard gasps from Jem and Tessa both. Tessa looked hurt. "Oh my goodness clary I am sorry to hear that, I really am. If there is anything we can do don't hesitate to ask us." Tessa said and she came and gave me a hug. Simon went to get us all a refill on our coffees while the three of us talked and caught up and avoided the subject of Jace. I bet mom would be happy to see them both too. Simon came back with the coffees and we all laughed and talked about everything.

                    Me and Simon went back to Luke's apartment after Jem and Tessa left. We had a lot of fun on our day off. As soon as we got home mom was in the kitchen humming and getting ready for dinner. "Hey you two. Did y'all have fun today?" Mom asked me once she saw us come in the front door. "Yes mom. We ate donuts, then we went to the park, then we went to Java Jones and we surprisingly saw Tessa gray and Jem Carstairs there" I said with some enthusiasm in my voice. I saw moms face light up at the mention of their names. "Oh my, I haven't seen those two in a long time. It would be good to see them again." My mom sounded happy again.
 
                                              Me and Simon went upstairs to my bedroom and to take a shower and get ready for dinner. I changed into some pajama pants and a t-shirt that is like 3 sizes too big. I went downstairs and my mom had made chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. I meet Simon in the kitchen and we all sit down to eat. "So clary have you seen the lightwoods?" Mom asked once we were all done with dinner. "No mom, I still need some time" I tell her. "That's fine Clary. Take as long as you need" she says.
