"Come on, Nico, it's a campfire!" Piper begged.
He wasn't being asked to sing; and he didn't like it.
It's a dark night, fireflies everywhere. You could see the stars, but the moon is nowhere to be seen. They're in an open field, and they're the only ones; him, Piper, Annabeth, Percy, Jason, Leo, Frank, and Hazel. Beautiful, right?
And apparently; perfect for karaoke, though Nico would rather star-gaze.
"I'm good. I can play the guitar though." he gives in.
"Acoustic? Sweet! Here!" Leo passes it over. Nico takes it, slinging the strap over his shoulder and back, and placing his hands in the right positions.
"But you won't sing? Sing!" Percy demands.
"N-O, No."
And after a large protest consisting of his friends launching marshmallows at him, chants, brushing his hair with hands and sticks, and dirt being pouring in his sleeves, Nico finally agrees. Just this once.
"Fine. Pipes, ready?" he asks in a monotone, displeased, almost sarcastic, voice.
Piper nodded. He started playing the strings of the guitar, dirt falling from his sleeves, and she began.
Piper: Picture perfect memories,
scattered all around the floor.
Reaching for the phone cause, I can't fight it any more.
Nico & Piper: And I wonder if I ever cross your mind.
Piper: For me it happens all the time!
Nico & Piper: It's a quarter after one, I'm all alone and I need you now.
Piper: Said I wouldn't call but I lost all control
Nico & Piper: and I need you now
Piper: And I don't know how I can do without, I just need you now
Nico: Another shot of whiskey, can't stop looking at the door.
Wishing you'd come sweepin' in the way you did before.
Nico & Piper: And I wonder if I ever cross your mind.
Nico: For me it happens all the time!
Nico & Piper: It's a quarter after one, I'm a little drunk, and I need you now.
Said I wouldn't call but I lost all control and I need you now.
And I don't know how I can do without, I just need you now.
Piper: Guess I'd rather hurt than feel nothing at all.
Nico & Piper: It's a quarter after one, I'm all alone and I need you now.
And I said I wouldn't call but I'm a little drunk and I need you now.
And I don't know how I can do without, I just need you now.
Nico: I just need you now
Piper: Oh baby I need you now
Their friends let go of gasps and claps, Nico's nose blushing but a tiny smile toying with his expression. Piper was used to the applaud, and smiled at Nico with a wink, meaning "great job."
Though, all demigods could agree: their voices were that of Muses.
