The librarian curled up in the armchair in the reading room of her mind palace and wept. She wept for Jay, she wept for Miles, she wept for Madelyn, she wept for Bry. She wept for Pharaoh and Skini. She wept for everyone she held dear that lived in the States.
She felt sick, she so badly wanted to throw up but she hadn't eaten yet.
She desperately wanted to just watch YouTube and forget about this but she couldn't even contemplate it.
Her mind was falling apart as her body lay curled up in bed, an ocean away from actually being able to help.
Her heart was empty.
She couldn't stop crying.
She needed to eat.
This was the end.
Her friends were as good as dead.
