As the rain fell across his face, Matt looked out over the ocean, watching the tempest tossed waves. It seemed appropriate the weather was like this, perfectly mirroring his emotional state. Pathetic simile it was called.

He was teetering on the brink now, small stones kicked loose and tumbling into the abyss below.

It'd been almost a year now, since she'd died. He'd tried to heal, to move on, but life wouldn't let him.
