Stand by Him

𝑿𝑿𝑿𝑰𝑽 - 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆

I borrowed a pair of pajamas from Kelly since I obviously didn't have mine. Kelly and I were putting a mattress on the floor in her room for me to sleep on as she knew I didn't exactly like sharing beds. I was already too excited for tomorrow.

« What do you want to do tomorrow morning? » Kelly asked as I sat on the mattress, which now had a blanket and a pillow on it.

« I don't know. How about we go shopping? I kinda want to buy some cute clothes for my date. »
I answered.

« That's such a good idea! I'll help you choose! » Kelly exclaimed.

Kelly had a great sense of fashion, so I was kinda glad she was gonna help me choose the clothes.

「The next morning」

I woke up, and it was 10 AM. I, not so gently, woke Kelly up.

I blasted Ride the lightning on the speaker in her room, which caused her to wake up in one second and startled.

« OLIVIAAA! » She exclaimed as she threw a pillow at me.

I stopped the music and busted out laughing, I couldn't help it.

« Ugh, I could've slept a little longer. It's only 10. » She complained.

After she had fully woken up, we both headed downstairs to eat breakfast before starting to get ready for the day. I put on the same outfit as yesterday since I didn't bring any other clothes.

« What do you think you should wear on a first date? » Kelly asked, looking at my current outfit.

« I don't know, what did you wear on your first date? » I asked.

« A basic outfit, my fit for my date with Swiss, was better. » She said. « Hop in the car, let's get going. » She then said as she grabbed her car keys.

I followed her to her car, and I sat in the passenger seat.

« Okay, you like the color black. If you want to be fancy for your first date, I was thinking maybe a black turtleneck dress? Or if you don't like dresses, maybe a turtleneck longsleeve shirt with beige baggy jeans? Also, maybe a coat since it's probably gonna be cold? You could keep your black combat boots, or we could buy high-heeled boots? I was also thinking about a hat, but I'm still not sure. Maybe it'll depend on the temperature... well, your opinion as well. » She said.

I had a bit of trouble following what she was saying, but I understood most of it. I tried imagining what the outfit would look like.

« It could work. » I answered her.

« Alright, then we're gonna have to stop at multiple shops. » Kelly said, smiling.

「Back home」

Even tho Kelly and I had already decided on my outfit, she made me try on many things. I was getting tired so good thing it was the last shop. Kelly kept on saying that she couldn't wait to get home to see the outfit on me. I was also excited to try it on, not gonna lie.

As soon as we got back to Kelly's house, I went to the bathroom to try on the outfit. It was really pretty yet I was scared that it would be too much...

I got out of the bathroom, wearing the outfit. Kelly dramatically gasped when she saw me.

« You're stunning! It fits you so well! » She exclaimed.

« Thank you... » I said, smiling. « You don't think it's too much? » I asked hesitantly.

« Absolutely not! I'm telling you, Sodo's gonna freak out! » Kelly said. « Can I do your makeup? » She then asked.

« Hm... sure. » I answered.

I wasn't exactly sure about Kelly doing my makeup as I knew she was a bit too extra sometimes... But I gotta say, this time, she made it look just perfect. She dragged me back inside the bathroom and got all of her makeup stuff out.

« This is amazing. You're literally better than me at putting on makeup. » I said, looking at myself in the mirror once she was done.

« Sodo is gonna LOVE, for sure. » Kelly said, looking at me in the mirror.

« With the number of times you said that, I don't doubt it. » I said, chuckling.

「Later」

It was now 5:40. If I wanted to get there for 6, we had to leave now since the arcade was 30 minutes from Kelly's house. Kelly was going to drive me there since I didn't have a car, obviously.

« I'm so nervous, I hope it's gonna go well. » I said as my leg bounced up and down because of the anxiety.

« Olivia, breathe. It's gonna be fine! » Kelly said.

« What if he doesn't come? » I said, imagining the worst scenarios.

« Olivia! » Kelly loudly said.

« What! WHAT! » I said.

« He's gonna come. Now stop imagining the worst scenarios and concentrate on imagining the best ones. » Kelly said.

After another 20 minutes of driving and listening to music, we finally got there.

« Good luck! » Kelly said as I got out of the car. « Remember! Call me if something goes wrong! I'll beat his ass up! » She said, laughing, before I closed the car door and waited outside the building for Sodo.

Sodo wasn't here yet, but it wasn't surprising. When we were about 5 minutes away from the place, he texted me to say he was on his way, and from the house to the arcade, it was a 15-minute drive. A few minutes later, I got a text from Sodo, saying he was there. I closed my phone, put it in the pocket of my coat. It was cold outside, like really cold. Maybe I should've put the hat Kelly told me to put...
