"How is it your brother-in-laws' fault?" usisa ko.

"Oh, I'm sure he's having fun," he chuckled deep in his throat. "To see me having a hard time fighting against you. He is Destiny, Isa, have you forgotten?"

"Why..." I shook my head. "Why would he have fun watching you suffer?"

He slightly lowered his head, wearing an amused smile. "Because..." When he looked back at me again, his smile slowly faded. "Our goal is to defeat him."

I nodded in understanding. "So it's true," sabi ko. "Your organization's goal is to overthrow Destiny."

"Not just him," Raphael said. "We ought to destroy the thrones of every deity who sits above the major gods."

"I will kill you before that happens," saad ko. "And the founders, they will never let that happen."

"Trust me," he insisted. "It will."

I gave him a disgusted look. "Try."

Huli na nang mapansin kong mayroon siyang sinenyasan. Dahil bigla nalang umugong ang aking ulo, pagkatapos may tumama sa helm na suot ko.

Narinig ko ang paggulong ng helm sa sahig, bago ako dagliang nabingi nang tumama rin ang aking ulo dito. Nagdulot ito ng matinding sakit mula sa likod ng aking mga mata na agad bumalot sa aking buong mukha.

Sinubukan kong igalaw ang aking leeg, pero napaigtad lang ako habang nakahilata.

"Fu-" I didn't even get to finish my curse when a foot pushed the back of my shoulder. Napataob ako nang nananakit ang buong katawan.

Napalunok ako habang nakatuon sa harapan. "I'm going to break every bone of your wings." Regret started to weigh me down on the floor. "I will slit your throat with my own blade."

He chuckled.

'Isa...' Kasunod kong narinig ang nagsusumamong boses ng kapatid ko.

"I will break you, Raphael," saad ko, mula sa kinailaliman ng aking matinding galit. "In body and in soul."

'Isa, gising na ako...'

"I will drown you in your own veils," dagdag ko, palalim ang bawat hininga.

'Hindi magagalit si Reign sa atin. Huwag kang maniwala sa sinabi niya.'

I fought but I failed.

'Isa, hindi 'yan totoo.'

I chuckled. "I did, Bella, I failed you, I failed Reign, I failed the Alphas."
