POV: Skylar

I smile as cloud burrows himself into my arms, he's missed me. I've missed him too. The Countess glares at me in betrayal. She's such a drama queen. I curl up on my childhood bed and just cuddle with him, I've missed my cat.

I don't care what Dr. Parkland says, I want my babies back.

"Hey," Oli pokes her head into my room.

They weren't home when I got here, out at the store buying food.

"Hey," I say without looking at her.

"Welcome home," she says awkwardly.

She's been acting weird ever since I allegedly jumped off a bridge. Acting like she doesn't know me at all. Maybe she doesn't.

"Mom's gonna make us dinner, just the three of us. Haven't done that in a while." She says.

"Emm," I pet Cloud.

"Um... I'll be in my room if you need me," she says.

"Okay," I say.

She walks away awkwardly.

I sigh and sit up before stretching and turning to look out the window. I can see Darleen and Kenzie unloading the car, laughing with each other. I watch Jade drag herself out of the car, half asleep. Darleen throws a bag at her and she glares and grumbles before carrying it inside.

I quickly get up and close the blinds.

Then I walk downstairs to mom trying to read the instructions for our frozen family dinner.

"Hey," I walk up next to her.

"Hello, ugh, I need new glasses." She squints her eyes.

"Vida and I broke up," I say.

She turns to look at me.

"Why? Everything okay?" she sets the box down.

"No," I admit.

"What happened," she rubs my shoulder.

"Jade." I sigh.

"What did that girl do now?" mom frowns.

"Nothing... she just... keeps trying to reconnect with me. Vida says I've been acting all weird ever since Jade came around. Dr. Parkland agrees with her. I told Vida that it was nothing, but then she started accusing me of hiding my real feelings and saying that Jade was right, and I just got mad... Kicked her out of my apartment. She hasn't spoken to me since." I look down.

"Have you reached out to her?"

"No," I say softly.

"Skylar you can't fix it if you don't—"

"I don't want to fix it." I cut her off.

Mom sighs.

"I don't want to love again." I bury my head into my mother's chest.

She wraps her arms around me and squeezes me tightly.

"I'm done with love, officially," I mumble.

"Skylar... that's not healthy." She says.

"Then I'm not healthy," I say.

"You'll change your mind, just give it time to heal."

"I don't want to change my mind." I sniffle.

"You will."

"No," my voice cracks.

"Kid, what am I going to do with you?" she sighs.
