PART 49 - About the Past

Sandro wanted to step back but it's too late because Greg, saw him already.

"Hey Sandy!" Greg called him.

"Anong Sandy? Baka Congressman Sandy." Singit naman ni Michelle.

"Oh yeah, sorry. Sup bro!" It was Greg again, giving fist bump to Sandro.

"Hi guys. I didn't expect this. What are these all about?" Sandro asked.

"Surprise! We set you up a party!" It was Caroline, holding some can of beers.

She attempted to kiss Sandro's cheek but he eagerly move away.

"Hala, ano yan? Awkward na ba?" It was Gab, who noticed that Sandro refused.

"Sorry, nagulat lang ako. But...wow, thank you guys. You're all here pa talaga." Sandro said trying to change the mood of air.

"Yeah, because Caroline planned all this." It was Michelle again.

"Really?" Sandro.

"Yeah! Comeback...comeback...comeback!" Greg, Michelle and Gab chanted in chorus.

His friends keep cheering for a comeback. Caroline is Sandro's ex-girlfriend for almost a year, before he run for Congress. They got separated after such choices and dreams that rooted for a misunderstandings.

"Stop that guys! We are here to celebrate for his winning. A bit late but well, as they say, better late than never. Right?" Caroline look at Sandro.

Sandro smiled awkwardly. "Yeah, ofcourse. Thanks again."

"So let's go eat, drink and party for Congressman Sandy!" Greg exclaimed.

Everyone is enjoying the catch up night. They were eating, drinking and partying until some of them got tipsy. Sandro didn't drink much since he had a session tomorrow. He didn't expect that the dinner waiting for him is more than a dinner.

It was past 10:00 pm when everyone got totally drunk, especially Caroline. She was then sitting beside Sandro and start making a scene and craziness.

"I missed you Sandy." Caroline said in her drunk voice, pulling Sandro's arms.

"You're drunk already, Cars." Sandro said, obviously uneasy with what Caroline is doing.

"I am not. Can't you just hug me please?"

"I can't." Sandro said, prolonging his patience. "Gab, can you please get a coffee or something? Para mahimasmasan siya." He added, addressing Gab.

"Okay..." Gab agreed.

"Hindi nga ako lasing diba? Why can't you hug me ha? Hindi mo na ba ako mahal?" Caroline continues, catching everyone's attention now. Sandro was just staring at her while the others are looking at Sandro.

"Why can't you just grant her request, Sandy? Para namang hindi naging kayo at ganyan ka na kailang kay Cars." It was Michelle, holding her shot of tequila.

"I just can't Mich. I'm in a relationship now. I can't do that."

"What? So it is true? Kaibigan mo ba talaga kami? Bakit parang wala naman yata kaming alam."

"I'll tell you soon guys, but this isn't the right time, okay? She's a very private person and...."

"And probinsyana?" Caroline said.

"Caroline, that's too much!" It was Greg, trying to stop Caroline from further saying anything.

"Totoo naman eh. Come on, Sandy. Spill it!" Caroline continue.

"You know what, lasing ka lang. I'm sorry guys, I can't stay longer. I still have my session tomorrow. Thank you for the night, I somehow enjoyed!"

"Sige bro. Ako na bahala dito." Greg assured.

Sandro then come out from the room, while the others are looking at him in dismayed. Little did he doesn't know that Caroline followed him to the parking lot, and right before he could get inside the car, Caroline grab his arms.

"What is that Sandy? Tatalikuran mo ako just because of that cheap girlfriend of yours? Come on!" Caroline said.

Sandro breath heavily as he faced Caroline. "Hanggang ngayon ba Cars, hibang ka pa din? Wala na tayo diba? Why are you acting like I'm cheating on you now?"

"Oo wala na tayo pero inayos ko yung sarili ko for you pero wala na pala akong babalikan? And worse, ipagpapalit mo lang ako sa babaeng yun? Na isang cheap at probinsyana. How can you lower your standards, Sandy?"

"Shut up! Elle is more than that. Don't judge her without knowing her the way I knew her. Tsaka ano bang alam mo sa buhay niya, at kung makapagsalita ka...."

"I may not know her whole life story pero why her Sands, why her?!!!"

"My decision of choosing and loving her isn't a question Cars."

"Why are you doing this to me? Bakit hindi nalang ako ulit please, Sandy?" Caroline sobs desperately and hug Sandro from the back.

Sandro try to push her away gently. Right in time, Greg run after Caroline, so he help Sandro to get rid of Caroline from hugging him.

"Hey Cars, easy. Don't make a scene here." Greg said holding Caroline's arms.

"Bakit? Masama ba ang ginagawa ko? I am just trying to reach out for love." She continue crying desperately. "Sandy please..."

Some people are already staring at the three of them.

"Bro, you better go. Ako na bahala sa kanya." It was Greg.

"No, please Sandy! Please!" Caroline.

"Come back to your senses, Cars. Don't make a scene here. Please lang. Wag mo na ulit bigyan ng sakit ng ulo ang daddy mo!"

Sandro then get inside his car and drive away from the place. Caroline was left, crying while Greg is trying to comfort her.

"Tandaan niyo, I won't make your relationship work. I won't. Never! I will not stop until I get what I want." Caroline shouted while trying to get rid from Greg's arms.
