Luna's POV

7:09 pm

The hospital waiting room was quiet and empty, leaving me alone with my loud thoughts.

I pulled my knees to my chest and slumped further into the chair, scared out of my mind. The past hour and a half was a blur in my mind now, gripping me in place.

All I could see was the fear in Jax's eyes and all of the blood in his hand. He hit the floor only a few seconds later, going unconscious for a minute or two.

I called Louie over, making him drive us both to the ER. Jax's mom was already landing and his dad had gone to pick her up, rushing over here afterward.

I was the only one who wasn't family so I was left in the waiting room doing nothing but worrying. I was so exhausted, emotionally and physically.

So much was left unsaid between us and I wasn't even sure what to say. What if something was really wrong with him and he was dying?

I shuddered at the thought.

With everything out in the open between us, I was still reeling over the fact that everything I had thought was wrong. Over the past months I had hoped deep down that I was wrong, but knowing it now made me feel so much worse.

Jax was one of the sweetest and most amazing people I'd ever met. He was patient and unyielding, putting up with me and my dumbass. And I knew this from the way he handled himself and the way he treated other people.

You don't even know what you mean to me.

There were so many implications with those words and butterflies fought against my ribcage at the thought of what he could mean.

It's funny how God puts things into perspective for you. One minute, what I felt for him as a 15 year old was all I could think about and the next he was in a hospital room somewhere, leaving me to agonize over if he was okay or not.

The automatic doors slid open and I looked up to see Gen and Scarlet walking in. I stood up and they noticed me, running over to me. I felt the weight of their bodies, as they wrapped their arms around me. My eyes watered and I bit down on my inner cheek, my hands trembling.

I let out a soft sigh as I held onto them, feeling okay for a moment.

Scarlet was the first to pull away. "Any change?"

"Nothing."

Gen squeezed me and sighed. "I'm sorry babe."

I wiped my eyes and sat down. "I don't even know how this happened. One moment he was fine and the next there was blood everywhere."

They both sat down at both sides of me.

"Well let's pray it's nothing major. Is he still sick?" Scarlet rubbed my arm.

"The fever's gone and he stopped throwing up. He was just tired really." Gen pulled her hand in mine and I leaned my head onto her shoulder. "What are you guys doing here anyway? I told you nothing's changed since we got here."

Scarlet smiled at me and Gen sat up, making me lift my head. I could see the excitement in her eyes. "Maya's in the Labor and Delivery wing now."

My eyes widened and I couldn't stop the smile forming on my lips. "Really?"

Scarlet nodded. "Yeah, we were all over at the apartment and her water broke."

"Holy shit."

"Will's still not here yet but he's trying to get here before she goes into labor."
