I walked into the kitchen and took in a deep inhale. Something smelled good.
Gen stood at the stove and flipped what I assumed was a pancake. Two plates sat on the island table with scrambled eggs and a pile of pancakes. There were a few glasses full of orange juice.
"Smells good," I remarked taking a seat at the island.
She looked over her shoulder and smiled. "I'm glad you're finally awake. I made breakfast."
"I see," I took a sip of the orange juice and winced. That definitely wasn't just orange juice.
"Carmen found some champagne in the basement and made us mimosas," She explained seeing my expression.
"This place had a wine cellar?"
She laughed. "Is it really that surprising?"
Honestly, no.
I woke up on a Tempurpedic bed with beautiful bedsheets. The pool I could see through the back doors was huge and we weren't even at Jax's house. This was just his beach house.

I could only imagine where he grew up looked like.
"Where is everyone?" I asked taking a pancake from the pile. I took a big bite out of it and moaned. "This is so good," I said with a mouth full.
Gen turned off the stove and placed the last pancake on the pile with a spatula. "Glad you like it. Jax went out and got us groceries this morning and then all the guys went out again to get some more food for dinner tonight."
She rolled her eyes and placed the pan in the sink. "I'm pretty sure Ozzie wanted to get fireworks too which isn't really a good idea. I mean, Ozzie plus armed explosives sounds like chaos."
She pulled her blond curls up into a bun and rubbed her palms along her jean shorts.
"Doesn't someone have to have a permit to get fireworks?"
"Kingston does."
I laughed and took a sip of my mimosa. "Of course he does."
She made herself a plate and we both walked to the backdoor, opening it up.
Scarlet and Carmen lay on plushy pool chairs while Zhu sat at the edge of the pool, dipping her feet in. She was wearing an orange swimsuit with a white shirt coverup.
