Luna's POV

Monday, August 1st

3:02 pm

Think about the feeling of being underwater for a long time. You can't see clearly and the water's stinging your eyes and filling your ears. You're holding your breath, feeling tightness in your lungs. You're trying not to panic.

When your head comes up for air, oxygen finally enters your lungs. That first breath and the moment of relief that follows tells you that you're okay.

Right now, I was having my first breath moment.

"Kingston!" The laughter that erupted from my mouth was echoing off the walls of the studio. My stomach was hurting from laughing for so long. With arms wrapped around his neck and my legs around his waist, I was bouncing on his back as he ran across the hardwood floors.

Zhu was on Ozzie's back and we both laughed as they ran back and forth, racing each other.

I don't remember how we started this game but it was too fun to stop now. We were basically doing suicides on the hardwood floor. Well, the boys were.

Scarlet stood at the edge of the room taking a video on her phone, a bright smile on her face. Gen was standing beside her on Ozzie's skateboard, trying not to fall. Call on Me by RAYE was blasting from the speakers above.

"I'm literally gonna whoop your ass!" Ozzie shouted in Kingston's direction. His face was red with fatigue and the grin on his face was infectious.

"That's cap!"

The sounds of our laughter and feet moving across the floor made me close my eyes. I was trying to remember this. Something about it felt important to me.

I was trying to catch my breath when the side door opened. From my peripheral vision, I could see it was Jax and Carmen. They both looked at us with bewildered looks on their face.

Ozzie stopped first, dropping to the floor with Zhu jumping off his back. He leaned over with both hands on his knees, gasping for air. Zhu patted his back with a big smile on her face.

Kingston hollered loudly, coming to a slow stop. "Don't fucking mess with me Choi!"

I laughed still clinging onto his back. Ozzie fell over and laughed, shaking his head.

"What is going on?" Jax asked smiling, looking at all of us. His eyes finally landed on me and I forced air through my lungs.

Hopping off of Kingston's back, the adrenaline from the last 10 minutes was still passing through my veins.

"Someone made a bet, I don't remember," I collapsed to the floor, with Kingston beside me. We both stared at the ceiling with smiles on our faces, trying to catch our breath.

"Okay Ozzie, you owe me 20 bucks," Scarlet said looking down at all of us. She pulled me up by my hands and I placed a hand on my heart, feeling my rapid pulse.

Ozzie groaned and turned over to his side.

She placed an arm over my shoulder and pulled me to her side. That relief that felt like the first breath out of water came from these people. My people.

I was wrong about keeping things from the people I loved the most. I felt so much more of myself now that they all knew everything.

Last night was a reminder of how blessed I truly was.

Gen skated past me with both her arms out, wiggling at both sides. Jax caught her by the elbow, stopping her from falling and let Ozzie's skateboard roll across the room.
