Chapter 5: Past

Gladion: "Good battle Ash."

Ash: "Good battle."

Gladion puts his hand out and Ash grabs it, but then Gladion pulls Ash close to him before saying

Gladion: "Your strong, but not as strong as your former self. Your coldheartedness is gone. Kindness will lead you to weakness. I'll bring back the real Ash Ketchum"

Ash: "..." 'He knowns huh.'

Gladion walks away before a couple students walk over to congratulate Ash.

Lillie: "I have to go guys. Thanks for the talk though."

May and Dawn: "We hope we see you around."

Lillie walks towards Gladion

*With Gladion*

Gladion get a call and answers

???: "Is he back?"

Gladion: "No, but don't worry. He'll come back soon. I'll make sure of it." 

Gladion hangs up

Lillie: "Who were you talking too Gladion?"

Gladion: "Nobody Lillie. Anyway let's go we gotta get back to our class."

*With Ash*

Student 1: "Wow! Your were so cool Ash!"

Student 2: "Yeah! I definitely want to watch you battle again!"

Ash: "Thanks guys."

Gary: "Good battle Ashy-boy."

Dawn: "Ashy-boy?" 'That seems like some sort of shipping that's not in this fanfic.'

Ash: "That battle felt so nice. Gladion definitely surprised me though." 'He also knows about my past. I'll ask Gary about that later.'

May: "I've never seen you get one shot in a battle before!"

Ash: "He's strong, but something about him makes me uncomfortable."

Paul: "It's his aura. His is dark and menacing, while yours is almost completely opposite of his." 'Ash's aura has some dark and menacing power. I wonder what it is?'

Ash: "Seems like it. His Pokemon were powerful. I could see him possibly being a future champion."

May: "Aura? What's that?"

Teacher: "Great question May. Let me explain Aura now. Aura is the essence of every living creature.  Pokemon such as Lucario can perform a form of spiritual energy into an attack called aura sphere."

May: "Ash has a Lucario. I saw him used Aura Sphere in his champion battle!"

Ash: "That's true May. Lucario is good at using and detecting aura." Ash pats May's head and May starts to blush
