The familiar smell of the mine, the mine helmets and shovels scattered on the ground, and if he listen carefully he can even hear the clanking sound of the mine car on the track. 

Chang Beigen tentatively took a step out, but his feet passed through a big stone on the ground. At this moment, he was like a ghost from the future.

Hearing the familiar voice, Chang Beigen was startled. He went around two bends faster than his thoughts and came to a straight track. The faces he was once familiar with appeared vividly in front of him again.

He wanted to tell them to leave quickly, even though he knew that this was just a memory that could not be changed. Chang Beigen even thought that if he exchanged everything he had now for an opportunity 30 years ago, he would be willing to exchange it with his life. 

But he could do nothing but watch.

This mine was contracted by Mao Tiankuo from others with almost all his family property, so sometimes, he would go down the hole with other miners. That day he was going down the hole as usual, but it made them stay in this mine forever.

Sitting next to Mao Tiankuo was a young man named Ah Fu who looked to be in his early twenties. He had been working with Mao Tiankuo since he was 16 years old. 

When he found out his eldest brother was going to have a child, he was promising that when he saves some more money, he will also contract a mine to be the boss. Then he will no longer have to work hard in the hole, but will just sit in the office and count money.

Everyone who works here is older than Ah Fu. When they heard him say such things, they all made fun of him: "You don't even grown your hair yet, but you want to marry a wife and become the boss?" 

Ah Fu said dissatisfied: "I'm already 20, and my uncle in the village, when he was 20, his son already so big. How can you say that I haven't even grown all my hair!"

Mao Tiankuo said: "That's good. Set a goal first, and then work hard for 5 years. If you are really serious and don't have enough money, I will lend it to you!"

Ah Fu suddenly smiled and said, "The eldest brother is the best! It's a pity that I don't know how old I can get married."

A bearded man patted Ah Fu on the back with a big hand: "Oh, already missing a wife!"

Ah Fu pushed his hand away and said, "I want to get married into my eldest brother's family."

Mao Tiankuo laughed and said, "You have a lot on your mind, but it's a pity that it's not your turn yet. Your sister-in-law has already made an agreement with your brother Beigen and his wife. 

"A boy with a boy will be brothers and a girl with a girl will be best friends. If there is a boy and a girl, they will be childhood sweethearts."

Ah Fu said: "Then what if they don't have that interest in each other when they grow up? Arranged marriages are no longer popular these days." 

Mao Tiankuo said with a smile: "If they don't have that interest in each other, then just be the elder brother, after all, you can't escape a family!"
