Boy Wonder (Trans AU)

Dick got home from school and ran to the upstairs bathroom. He unbuttoned his uniform skirt and kicked it off, unbuttoning his shirt and snapping off his bra, he grabbed the clothes he'd left folded on the sink counter and shimmied into them: black jeans and a sweatshirt. 

He was SO glad that Bruce let him get a shorter, androgynous, haircut. He'd came out to his family about two weeks ago, and thankfully, he'd been accepted with open arms (even if it took Bruce and Alfred a few days to process). 

The issue was that he wasn't out publicly. He wanted to avoid all the drama while he was still new to this, and Bruce agreed that whether he had a big coming out or a small one, it would probably end up an overwhelmingly big deal thanks to the media.

Sadly this meant he still had to present as female at school, which meant skirts, and she/hers, and girls bathrooms. It sucked! He was constantly scared that he'd be dress coded, or groped. He just wanted to be seen as a boy!

Not many people knew about his being trans, only Bruce, Alfred, his big brothers, and Barbara. they were super supportive, and had agreed to use his new name, but it sucked having to go out of the manor and be deadnamed.

He left the bathroom and headed downstairs to get a snack.

"Hey- uhh- Richard!" Jason called, he'd almost slipped up there. They didn't really have nicknames for him yet.

"Dick, Jason."

"I don't want to call my brother 'Dick'!" He laughed. "Unless you're being a dick!"

Dick rolled his eyes. His name choice came back to bite him a little there. "Someday you'll refuse to call me Richard. I promise."

"Yeah sure- hey, can I tell my friends that you have new pronouns?"

Dick shrugged. "Yeah, just tell them to keep it quiet."

"Rad! They keep asking about my sister, and I don't know what to say."

"Great, well jut make sure they don't tell." His brother nodded, and Dick headed into the kitchen.

"Hey.. little Brother." Tim was still in the phase of aggressive gender affirmation so Dick would know he supported him. It was a bit cringy, but Dick still really appreciated the affection.

"Hey Tim." Dick took the bread out and started making peanut butter toast.

Tim leaned against the fridge, watching him. "How was school?"

"Meh... bad." He shrugged. "But no worse than normal."

Tim frowned a little. "Well it's almost the weekend. Need any help with homework?"

"Probably." He replied. "I just wanna unwind a little first. "

"That's great! Totally valid. Just let me know." Tim said quickly.

He was still testing the waters around Dick, not sure if he wanted to go full-on teasing asshole, like with his other brothers, or keep coddling his youngest sibling. He always thought he was protective of Dick cause he was the youngest, but know he was worrying that he'd only done it because Dick was his only little sister.
