60: The Night Sparks Returned

Ready your hearts because when I wrote this, I am wishing for my own Emil. Hahahahah Enjoy! Love is in the air. Love is going to burn! Part 2 of the date is served hot.

Emil's POV

I was nervous as fuck with my date with Biya. Luigi already prepared everything I needed and Marcus has set up a perimeter around the island and for the car and yacht we will be using. I have laid a trap for them in case one of them was an accomplice and if ever they did something to ruin the date, I got myself prepared.

Gio: Everything is set. Gabriel is on stand by.

His text message gave me assurance that everything will be fine. I got the two. I only have one fear and that is Biya getting hurt. Tonight, it's our night and Martina will never lay her hands ever again on her.

The island was now ready with Luigi who did a great job on it. I must say, he's got an eye for details and it would be a waste if ever he was a traitor. I paced the living room, waiting for Biya who was now getting ready for our date in her room. I smoothed out my light blue polo, tugging the sleeves up to my elbows trying to look good. I stared at my shoes, searching for any dirt but found nothing. I blew out a breath and fixed my hair again. Okay. I'm really nervous. I didn't want to ruin this. This was like a button we are pushing for us to start over. The sound of her door opening followed by giggling made me stop myself from my nervous pacing. My heart was beating so fast and I could even hear it thumping in my ears. Elda came forward from the hallway first wearing the proudest grin I ever saw her have.

"The lady is now ready." She announced dramatically before going to the side. My heart beat faster in anticipation and I had to put my hands in my pockets trying to contain my excitement. The thumping sounds my heart made went faster and then just like that. I didn't hear anything else the moment Biya stepped forward. Her smile brightened the room as she walked towards me. Her golden hair now curled, bounced as she continued to walk, her peach dress that reached to her knees flowed in the air like she was a fairy and her light brown sandals made her walk look light. I just stood there, captivated by her beauty and grace. For a moment, nothing else mattered but her. She was like light. Pure white light and I was in the corner of darkness trying to embrace and welcome her.

"Hi Emil." Her angelic voice rang in my head and I snapped out of my dream-like state. I cleared my throat before smiling.

"Hey. You look beautiful." She smiled, a blush turned her cheeks pink.

"Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself." Her smile grew wider and I let out a small laugh.

"Let's go?" I offered a hand to her and she accepted it, intertwining our fingers together. A wave of warmth, security and happiness crashed on me and I relished the feeling of holding her like this again. I wanted this to last forever.

"Let's go." She replied and I led the way.

"Thanks Elda." I heard Biya say to her friend, waving her hand at her.

"No problem. Have fun you two!" She beamed with a smile.

"We will. Thanks!" I smiled at her and bade goodbye. We walked outside her apartment with confidence. No one would bother us tonight. I made sure of it. There were no people outside the lobby and I spotted Marcus by the entrance door waiting for us. He opened the door for us and I went to open the door of the car for Biya. Once she was in, I got in too while Marcus rushed to the driver's side. When we were all buckled up, Marcus started to drive without a word from him. I noticed the way his eyes darted at the side of the roads ahead of us as if he was looking for someone or something unusual. Good. He's silently doing his job.

"Where are we going?" Biya whispered. I scooted closer to her and intertwined our fingers again together. I rubbed my thumb on the back of her palm trying my best to be as calm as possible. I just want her to be in that island, have our privacy and show her what I feel.

"Somewhere you absolutely love." I replied and she looked at me, a twinkle in her eyes that made raging emotions run havoc in my heart. If it takes for her to look at me like this, to be by my side every single day and to hold her close to me, I will put everything I have on the line.

"Hmmm..." She only hummed before she rested her head on my shoulder.

"How's Geno?" I remembered the kid. I really hope he could be with her soon. He needs her and Martina stole a lot of time between the two because she wanted to protect her son.

"He's doing good. I really miss him. I need to take him back as soon as possible. I want to spend more time with him, you know." She replied and I noticed the sadness in her voice.

"Don't worry. You will. Do you want him to stay in my house for a while? We can take the nanny too." She stiffened at that before she straightened on her seat, her eyes darting at me with shock.

"Emil... I..."

"It's fine for me. Don't worry about anything. That way, you can spend your time with your son while you are under my protection. I can't let you go back in your apartment until Vicenzio is captured, Biya." I spoke my opinion and suggestion at her. One moment, she was staring at me, gaping at me like a fish caught in the sea and the next she slipped her arms around my neck and held me in an embrace.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." She sagged against me with her face buried on my neck. I smiled and rubbed her back comforting her.

"It's not a problem, Biya. Just give me permission and I'll do whatever you want." I told her and she withdrew. Her eyes were watery and there was something in them that I couldn't place. An emotion I couldn't pinpoint but it made my heart swell with adoration for her.

"What did I ever do to make you like this, Emil?" Her question came out in a whisper. I held her face with both of my cheeks and smiled.

"You came into my life and changed me into a better man. I owe you a lot, Biya." And I love you. I kept that last part to myself. I was scared that it was too soon. Blaze's rants on me being slow on my move on her rang in my head. Although I was slow, I was taking this path towards her with assurance and faith. She may be my ex-fiancé but it doesn't mean she'll take me back just like that after what I have done to her.

"Oh..." Her eyes twinkled again and this time, I saw understanding in her eyes. I kissed her forehead and caressed her cheeks. Nothing could be said. I knew in my heart that she felt that words won't be enough to express what I felt for her right there and then. So, she settled back on her seat and rested her head on my shoulder. While Marcus silently drove to the coast, I enjoyed the silence and peace we had with my eyes only on her.

When we arrived and safely got in the yacht, I watched Biya looked around. She looked at the coast which was getting farther and farther as Marcus drove. The yellow lights, the life in there and the sound of waves crashing were all too familiar. She looked to her left then to her right as if she was putting puzzle pieces in her head. Then, I heard her gasp.

"Are we going to the island?" She looked at me with excitement now and her smile grew showing her pearly white teeth.

"Yes." I replied before her smile went from ear to ear with her eyes sparkling. God! Those damn black eyes of hers. I would like to dive in them and be enveloped by its pure darkness.

"Dio mio!" I laughed at how her feet tapped on the floorboard, acting giddy. She really loved that place.

"I remember you saying you liked that island because of its serenity. I like for you to experience that again." Her eyes softened at me and I gave her hand a squeeze. Did I tell her she was beautiful? Because she fucking was beautiful.

"That's very thoughtful of you, Emil. Thank you." I kissed her hand that was linked with mine.

"You're welcome." I smiled. Once we arrived, I made Marcus stay in the yacht. Grabbing the bouquet of roses I hid in the yacht, I rushed to her side as she stood there admiring the view.

"Wow." She blew out a breath as she stood on the red carpet, her eyes roaming at her surrounding. The white sand shone like specks of gold as candles decorated the beach. The light coming from the candles lit up the whole island and it looked like it was the center of life in the sea. Soft jazz music filled the air, flowing perfectly with the waves in the island. There was no wind and the air was calm. The quarter moon lit the sky and the island gave us privacy and peace. Fire reflected on her eyes as the candles burned to light up the pathway to our table. She let go of my hand as she covered her mouth.

"For you." I gave the bouquet to her and her eyes snapped on the red roses. She took it and smiled, her words of appreciation echoed in my mind. She looked at what was in front of her again.

"Do you like it?" I asked nervously beside her and she nodded her head before she faced me.

"I love it." She said before hugging me. I chuckled at the way she kept on hugging me. I wasn't complaining. I would take any hug from her any second of the day. I led her to the white table with two white cushioned seats placed on opposite side of the table. She placed the bouquet on the empty white table I specifically requested for Luigi to set if ever Biya brought a bag. I guess that small table was useful after all. The dinner was already on the side table near our table covered and heated by a big gray covered tray I bought in Germany. A stout candle was placed in the middle of the table with roses surrounding it. It provided a romantic atmosphere and I hope she felt what I was trying to say to her without words.

"Take a seat." I pulled the chair for her and she happily obliged. Once she was settled on her seat, I went to take the dinner to our table.

"Medium rare steak with a side of mashed potatoes for my lady. Plus vegetable salad if want to have some." I announced putting the dishes in front of her. Once I set everything up including mine, I poured us some red wine before taking my seat.

"Can we have a toast?" She blushed at her question before holding her glass in the air.

"Of course." I held my glass as well and waited for her to speak. She bit her lip before she spoke the words I wished to hear from her.

"To us. May destiny light our path to our hearts and may this be the start of something more. To a fresh start." She proposed.

"To a fresh start. To us." I repeated her words before we clinked glasses. I swirled my wine before taking a drink. Her smile on me took my breath away and I couldn't help but stare at her for a few moments. Her skin glowed with the way the candle lights light everything in here. Her eyes were twinkling as she began to tell me stories about work. Right there, while the waves crashed, a realization crashed upon me like fire was lit up inside me. In front of me was a future I wanted to have. In my heart, I felt the old flame of us returning.

"And Viv even choked on her drink when I told her I had to go home early for our date. She's so clumsy." She continued to tell her story and I listened to her ramble anything about her life, adoring her silently. The dinner was spent full of stories and laughter. I missed this and I was glad I was having this time with her again. Her laughter gave me life. Her passion for her life brought meaning to my own life. The way she spoke about her patients, listened to my own stories and us reminiscing the secret life we had made me love her more. She has accepted me again and as I listened to her, I still can't believe she was here with me. She forgave me and we're starting over. I couldn't ask for more.

"That was a lovely dinner, Emil. Thank you." She said wiping her mouth with the white table napkin.

"You're welcome. Care to join me by the bonfire?" I asked standing from my seat and going to her side.

"Yes please." On our way there, I grabbed the bag of marshmallows and two sticks for us to have smores.

"Smores! Yes!" She clapped her hands like a five year old kid and I chuckled at that. I loved that she could act mature and act like a child sometimes. She rushed to the mat lying near the bonfire and took a blanket with her to cover her legs. I sat on her left, gave her own stick and opened the bag of marshmallows she liked. She happily took one, sticking it on the stick and began roasting that fluffly sweet food. The fire crackled as we sat there in silence waiting for our marshmallows. Biya then rested her head on my shoulder again and I let her, sitting straighter so I could support her. I wrapped an arm around her waist for support and leaned my head on hers.

"Emil?"

"Yes?"

"Is the old Emil still there?" We both withdrew from each other and stared. Her eyes searched for answers.

"It's still there but I'm not like before, Biya." There was a soft smile on her face before she went back to her original position.

"Why do you ask?" I asked while we watched the sparks fly from the bonfire.

"Have you become submissive? I know you're used to being dominating but I am still getting used to you being so gentle and careful with me. Is the old Emil still there?" What did she just say?

"Do you want me to go back to my old life?" I went blank while I asked her that. Doesn't she like me for what I am now?

"No. You've been reckless, impulsive, and possessive in the past. Although possessiveness can be good, it's not good to feel that every day. You've been submissive for the past couple of months with me. To be honest, you can offer everything you have under your belt if necessary. I just want to know because even if I like you for who you are now, I also like you for who you were in the past. People learn and I'm glad we're meeting halfway in this." Her explanation... her words... They punched me in the gut so hard I barely could breathe. I gripped my stick tight and swallowed my nervousness in.

"You like me?" I asked in a whisper and I heard her gasp. Slowly, I turned my gaze on hers and she looked down on her lap. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before her black eyes pulled me in.

"That's the only thing you heard from what I just told you?" She raised a brow at me in disbelief. I chuckled.

"Uhm... no. But answer me, Biya. Do you like me?" I asked seriously wanting to know the truth from her.

"Yes, idiot. I like you again. Are you happy now?" Her words made me soar high and I laughed in joy. I let go of my stick and hugged her tight.

"Fuck!" I cursed before burying my head on her neck, breathing in her scent.

"Thank you. Thank you for giving me a chance again." I held her face in my hands and attacked her with kisses. I showered her with my love and affection; every kiss, every touch praising her and thanking her for the second chance.

"Emil! Oh my god!" Her giggles made me want to kiss her more.

"Will you be my girlfriend, then? Be my girlfriend again, Biya. From this moment on, I don't want to hide you like my dirty little secret. I want to shout to the world that you're mine." I proposed to her, my hand still cupping her pretty face. She held onto my wrists and I felt her tracing patterns on skin. Her eyes searched for mine once again.

"Are you ready to face the world with me again, Emil? I can't bear to repeat history with you again if I will be left tackled by everyone. I don't want to be left alone to deal with the effects of your fame." She spoke as if she was frightened by our future. With the need to give her assurance and security in my part, I leaned close to her until our noses touched and our lips an inch apart. I looked into her eyes and found warmth and admiration. That was all I needed. My lips landed on hers for the first time in two years. Her soft lips were sweet and I couldn't help but kiss her deeper. I withdrew before I could take it further and she gripped my wrists tighter as she controlled her breathing.

"With you on my side again, I can face everything. No one can touch us now, Biya. Every single person who would try to break us will burn. I promise you that." She sagged with relief and a tear rolled down her cheek.

"Then, I'll be your girlfriend. Again." She laughed at the last part and I crashed my lips to hers again. Finally, we both expressed our feelings for each other and the sparks have returned. Fire will burn and I will make sure that anyone who would want to destroy us would turn to ashes.

"I guess that answers my question." She spoke in a low tone as I pulled away from her. Her face was flushed and she looked cute with her swollen lips I got her to have from my kisses. I tilted my head and grinned.

"You like me being dominant on you? Do you want your kinky bastard back?" I teased and she gasped before slapping my chest.

"Shut up." She glared at me while I laughed.

"Oh I can shut you up." I replied and she raised a brow as if challenging me.

"And how would you do that, Carini?"

"Simple, Signorina Kairis. Like this." I said and kissed her again. God! I missed her. I love her. I still love her after all this time.

OKAY! OKAY. Pumpkins, I have hinted on this matter before and I mentioned it again here. Yes. They WERE in a dom/sub relationship. I have some baggage in here that will be revealed soon on Emil and Biya (yeah I got more). Anyway, here's the part 2. This was a very long chapter with more than 3k words. I like this chapter a lot because they focused on what they felt and not on the materialistic things much. More of their past will be revealed soon so stay tuned. CHEERS TO BEING #1 on Matured! You guys voting on my story rule! Like I can't believe we're hundreds of thousands of reads and we've ranked #1. Thank you so much!

Btw, to everyone in the Philippines, I hope everyone is safe and sound. The typhoons are restless and I'm praying for everyone's safety. You can talk to me in the comments about the chapter or anything really if you want. Be safe always and wear your masks when going outside.
