Hudson's POV
Camilla is starting to piss me off.
I'm not jealous, I swear okay?
But she's making Lexi uncomfortable and I doubt that's going to help Lexi play against Spain tonight.
She's also 2 touchdowns away from her moms record and she seems to think if she does she will be disowned.
I go down for breakfast and she texts that she'll be a few minutes I sit alone and go on my phone for a few minutes.
"Hey Hudson,"
"Hey Coach Topaz,"
"Can I sit?"
"Of course,"
"Wheres Lexi?"
"Not sure, probably waiting for AJ, LJ, and TJ," I sigh
"You can just call them the idiots- it's faster,"
I laugh and we talk for a second before I see cami looking at us.
"Everything okay?"
"Camilla seems to always be around," I sigh "Lexi says she's over her but I'm pretty sure she's not,"
"Camilla's here?"
"Lex didn't tell you?"
"I've barely seen her all week, just at games,"
"Cami likes to follow us and has been trashing me in the press a bunch,"
"Camilla,"
"Mrs. Topaz!" She says coming over
"How are you Cami?"
"I'm good you?"
"I'm okay, I didn't know you were here,"
"I'm cheering for team Spain,"
"I heard you and Hudson met though,"
"Oh.. ya, hey Hudson,"
"Hey," I say
"Where's Mrs. Topaz?"
"Probably still trying to change Mateo," Toni laughs
"Actually Toni, she's right over there- looks like she's talking to a reporter, I'll go grab Mateo,"
"Thanks Hudson,"
I nod and go over to see Cheryl.
"Hey Cheryl, I can take Mateo if you want,"
"Thanks Hudson, is T sitting with you?"
"Yes, because Lexi and TJ take forever to get ready,"
"Very true,"
I take Mateo and sit back down beside Toni.
"Lexi and Cheryl really bought a lot of clothes for him,"
"This is just the stuff I let Cheryl pack- wait until you see his American wardrobe," Toni laughs "you mind holding him? I just need to finish a few emails,"
"Ya I'm good, where'd cami go?"
"Who knows? She didn't like me too much,"
I laugh and play with Mateo until Lexi lifts him above my head.
"Good morning babe," she says kissing my cheek "the boys were taking forever,"
"I know I'm starving," i joke
"Let's go and get something, you didn't have to wait,"
"I wanted to,"
"Mama you want anything?" She asks
"No, mom and I ate at like 6:00,"
She nods and we go up with Mateo.
"Wanna share a waffle with me?"
"Sure baby,"
She turns around and kisses me.
"Blah blah," Mateo says
"You're funny Mateo," She says
"How are TJ AJ and LJ?"
"Annoying as hell,"
"They're hilarious,"
"Ya when you're not related to them," she laughs
"You go sit baby, I'll wait for it,"
"Thank you,"
She kisses my cheek and goes to sit with her mom.
I get our waffle and go sit next to her.
"Maybe I do want a waffle," Toni sighs
"You can have my half," I say "I'm good with my eggs, Lex usually ends up eating all of it anyways,"
"Thank you Hudson,"
"Do you have a game tonight?" Lexi asks
"No, and coach gave us the night off practice so I can come watch your game,"
"Yay,"
I kiss her cheek and she giggles.
"Bold of you Hudson," cami says "kissing her in front of Mrs. Topaz?"
"Oh, um Toni has never shown her discomfort in this," I say
"Camilla, leave him alone," Lex laughs "you don't have to protect me, Hudson does that now,"
"Hudson isn't a girl- last time we talked you were a lesbian,"
"Last time we talked you were American," she says "leave me alone Cami,"
Cami leaves and Cheryl comes over.
"T, next time you see your wife being questioned for over 45 minutes by a reporter, maybe try and save her?"
"You were fine- hopefully you talked for so long you won't chat my ear off,"
She takes Mateo from Lexi and sits next to Toni.
They talk for a bit and I just eat my breakfast.
"Baby?" Lex asks
"Hm?"
"Who am I more like? Cheryl or Toni?"
"Cheryl," I say without thinking
"Why?" She asks shocked
"Haha your boyfriend just called you a bitch," TJ says sitting down
"That's not what I meant," I say looking up quickly "not at all,"
"Did you just call me a bitch TJ?" Cheryl asks
"No Hudson did,"
"No I didn't," I say again
"Why am I more like Cheryl?" Lexi asks
"You just act more like her, dress more like her," I say "I don't know,"
"It was just a definitive answer," she says
"Lex, it's what I always thought,"
"This is about me not being a good athlete right?" She snaps
"Wha- Lexi, i never said that.." I say confused "I th-"
She argues back before I can even finish my sentence.
"Lexi. I was in no way talking about your athletic abilities you know I think the world of you,"
She storms off and I'm confused
"What did I say?" I ask her moms "I didn't mean to be offensive,"
"Cher used to do the same to me- she's a blossom by blood," Toni says "they're crazy,"
Cheryl playfully hits her and TJ sighs
"Lexis fine, she's just stressed about tonight," he says "don't worry about it,"
"Is Spain still.." Toni asks
"Yes they are," AJ says "very in her head,"
"I'll go find her," I say "if I don't come back- she killed me,"
They laugh and I go find Lexi.
She's waiting for the elevator.
"Hey baby,"
"Huds.." she starts "I'm sorry, I'm just.. stressed and insecure,"
"Well, I get it okay? And it's okay," I say putting my hands on her hips "I just want you to relax baby,"
"Okay,"
We hangout with her family for a bit before we all head to the fields.
"Have a great game babes,"
"I will, just for you,"
I kiss her and she leaves
Lexis pov
I'm playing my game but Cami is so in my head.
By halftime, we're tied and my moms pissed.
"Alexis Jayla stay the fuck here," she says before I get in the room,"
"Yes?"
"What's wrong? Because it's not just Camilla or the boys- you're better than this- you've had wide open touchdowns and you let yourself get tackled,"
"Mama.." I stutter "I don't want you to be mad."
She looks at me confused and I start crying.
"What's wrong honey?"
"I'm two touchdowns away from 5 of your records and 4 completed passes away from 2 more," I say looking at my hands "and I didn't wanna take them from you,"
"Lexi, you know the first thing I said to mom after I got those records?"
"No,"
"I told her that one day my kid is going to beat them- and she said they were going to be the only people capable of doing it. Since the day I saw you I knew you were going to break those records kiddo," she smiles "don't be afraid okay? I had my time, it's your turn now,"
I smile and hug her
"I'm sorry,"
"Smash the record baby, go out and score 5 td's just for me?"
I laugh and nod
"Okay,"
I go out and score 2 right off the bat.
"Where'd that come from Topaz?" Cami asks from the sideline "one more and your mom might never talk to you again,"
"Give it up Cami," I say walking away
By the last play of the game were up by 7 and I have the ball.
"Taking a knee?" TJ asks
I look at my mom and sigh
"No I wanna TD, I'm running, block 7,"
Everyone nods and we snap the ball.
Just before time runs down I get to the endzone
Through the chaos I find my mom and she hugs me
"Congratulations Lex, I'm so proud of you okay?" She whisper "this is your moment Kiddo,"
"I love you mom,"
"I love you too,"
