Lexis POV
I'm getting dressed for press day and I'm super excited.
I'm wearing a nice dark blue dress with white converse and I straightened my hair.
"You look cute," Emma says coming in to my part of the suite
"Thank you, why aren't you dressed yet?"
"Cheer press doesn't start until 2:30,"
She picks out a necklace and rings for me.
"Do you have bracelets?" She asks
"I do but Huds told me not to wear one," I say
She fixes my hair which is long as fuck, almost at my butt
"You have a lot of hair,"
"I know,"
I say goodbye and go downstairs to find Hudson.
"There's my girl," someone says hugging me from behind
I jump and it's that guy who's dad used to play for OK.
"You aren't my boyfriend, get away from me," I say turning and pushing him
"C'mon Topaz it could be fun, no?"
"Absolutely not, leave me alone,"
"Who are you looking for?"
"Hudson,"
I see him get off the elevator as this guy gets really close to me.
"Huds!" I yell
He comes over and the guy must be scared of him and leaves.
"Baby," he says hugging me "I'm so sorry, Jhorry and I were a bit late,"
"I'm okay,"
"What'd he do?"
"He hugged me from behind and I immediately got scared because I knew it wasn't you and he was just talking nonsense,"
"I'm so sorry Lex, are you okay?"
"I'm fine,"
"I got you something," he says showing me a box
I take it and open it
"Baby oh my god, this is beautiful," I say looking at it
It's rose gold, with an infinity symbol on the main band and it has a chain off of it that has a small diamond in the middle.
"You like it?" He asks
"I love it, thank you so much," I say hugging him "and I have a little surprise too,"
He raises his eyebrow
"What are your dinner plans tonight?"
"Nothing why?"
"My mom is friends with the owner of one of the best steakhouses in Miami and she got us a reservation, if you want it,"
"I would love to babygirl,"
I smile and he grabs my hand
"Wanna head to the press room?"
"Yes,"
He puts his hand on my back and we go to the press room.
"You look amazing by the way," I say
He's wearing a turquoise shirt with a white tie.
"Says you, that dress looks amazing on you,"
I kiss his cheek and people start talking to us.
"So you're at your first nationals, and coincidentally it's the same place your mom played her first nationals, how does that feel?"
"It's really cool to be able to try and do the same thing that she did and being with my brother and cousins make it a lot better,"
"How are they?"
"Well they're late, because they're supposed to be here. They're good though, very excited,"
He starts asking Hudson questions too and I just play with his fingers.
"So you two are together correct?" He asks
"Yes," I confirm
"And how has that been going?"
"I'd say pretty good, right babe?" Hudson says
"Ya, it's been really good,"
We do a few more interviews and then I need to do a live one with TSN.
"I'll catch up to you later," I say kissing him
"Good luck baby, you'll do great," he says
"Thank you,"
He goes and I start my interview.
"We're here with star quarterback Alexis Topaz, New York State champion and daughter of former 2x global champion Toni Topaz,"
We talk about football for a couple minutes before he asks about the boys.
"So their names are AJ TJ and LJ, does that get confusing,"
"For them sometimes, but I call them by their first names a lot so I don't," I laugh "and TJ's shouldn't even be called TJ, I've been saying that for years,"
"Really? Why's that?"
"His name is Tony Reginald but since my uncles started calling him Tony Junior they made it TJ," I laugh
"And who's AJ named after?"
"My mom, his name is Antonio Jack," I say "so Reggie named him after her,"
We finish the interview with talk about Hudson.
"Rumours are spreading that you're dating a Riverdale High Basketball player? Wanna speak on that?"
"Yes, I'm dating Hudson Raeleigh,"
"He's a point guard correct?"
"Yes he is, just moved to Riverdale this season,"
"His old school is here as well correct?"
"Ya, they are," I say with a slight laugh
We talk about that for a second before we end the interview and I go find Hudson.
He's in an interview and I see him.
He's scanning the room and sees me and waves me over.
"There she is, hey baby,"
"Hey Huds, just got out of my interview,"
"This is Reagan, she's a reporter from T-22," he says
"I know Reagan," I say hugging her "he's Ty's wife, how are you?"
"I'm good Lexi, where are your moms?"
"Almost here, they didn't tell me you were coming down too,"
"No one knows, it's a surprise for Ty and your moms since Cheryl continuously harassed me to get to go to dinner with her,"
"Of course she did, she's crazy,"
"I met Hudson,"
I grab his hand and smile
"Your moms didn't mention a boyfriend,"
"They've been so busy, they probably forgot," I laugh
"Plus Toni isn't my biggest fan," Huds says
"Baby, my moms love you,"
He laughs and I see my moms walk in.
"There they are,"
I wave them over.
"Hey Lexi,"
"OMG REAGAN!" Cheryl says hugging her
They catch up and I just hug Hudson.
"How did your interviews go?" I ask
"Good, how about TSN?"
"Great,"
"I'm so proud of you Lex," he says kissing me
"Ya?"
"Ya,"
"I'm proud of you too,"
"I figured you out Topaz," Brianna says from behind me
"I hate your ex," I whisper turning around
"Me too," he sighs
"What do you want Brianna,"
"No amount of Daddy's money is going to keep Hudson with you,"
"You obviously didn't do your research,"
"Parents- Toni and Cheryl Topaz,"
"Yes, but you said daddy's money, and I don't have a dad," I smirk "no wonder Hudson dumped you, you're dumber than a stump,"
"Is that what you think?" She snaps getting in my face again
"I think you should stop, and back the fuck up,"
"Prissy, privledged, and foul mouthed, that was never Huddy's type,"
"Brianna, back off okay?" Hudson says
"And honey, manipulative little whores aren't his type either. So stop trying me before someone gets hurt," I snap
"You little bitch,"
We go back and forth until I'm done with her.
"Baby I'm done, can we go lay down?" I ask backing up
"Ya I think that's a good idea," He says "but first,"
He kisses me and I smile against his lips.
He pulls me closer once we pull away and smirks
"Brianna, leave my girlfriend alone- okay?"
Press is over now so I wanna go nap.
"What are you doing now?" He asks as we get out of the room
"I wanna nap,"
"I'll catch up with you later,"
"No babe, I want to nap with you, Emma and I have a suite so I have a room to myself," I say
"What about your moms?"
"I'll ask if it'll make you feel better,"
"It will,"
I find Cheryl and we walk over.
"Mom I want to nap and Hudson wants me to make sure it's fine that he comes too," I say "it's fine right?"
She stutters and sighs.
"Yes, that's fine," she says "I trust you two,"
"Thanks mom,"
I look at Hudson and smirk
"Happy now?"
"Very,"
We go up to my room and I change in the bathroom into something more comfortable
I put on pyjama shorts and a sports bra on.
"Babe you can lay down,"
He laughs and takes his shoes off and gets in beside me.
"You're always so warm,"
"Ya?"
"Very,"
"Your Ex pisses me off, you know that?" I sigh "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable or something,"
"No it was fine princess,"
"Good," I say
"You know I'm not with you for your money right? She kinda implied that, but I didn't even know your family had money when we met,"
"I know Huds," I laugh
I turn the light out and cuddle into him.
...
I wake up to Hudson kissing my neck and smile.
"Baby were going for dinner right?" He asks
"Mhm, 6:30,"
"Okay, it's 5:30- I'm going to change okay?"
"Okay, meet in the lobby?"
"I'll come pick you up here?"
"It's a 10 minute walk, don't be late?"
"Of course Topaz," he laughs
I giggle and he kisses me.
He leaves and I hope in the shower.
I change into a skirt- black, brown, and maroon plaid on top of a beige background with a black crop top. I keep the bracelet that he got me on and put on different necklace and some rings.
I kinda like my hair, beach waves.
"Emma, I need your opinion," I say checking myself out in the mirror
"If it's on the outfit- then it's a yes, you look hot,"
"How early in a relationship is too early to say I love you?" I ask turning around
"You love him,"
"Yes I do,"
"No that was a statement, not a question. I've never seen you like this Lex," she says "and you aren't going to scare him off- he loves you too,"
I smile and play with the bracelet.
"Is it new?"
"Hudson got it for me," I say showing her
She shakes her head and laughs
"Why did you get the most perfect guy in school,"
"Just got lucky," I laugh
There's a knock at the door and I answer.
"Ready?"
"Yes," I say grabbing my purse "bye Emma,"
"Bye!"
We get to the elevator and he hasn't stopped smirking at me.
"What?" I ask hiding my stomach "i thought.."
"Baby, you look... amazing," he says grabbing both of my hands "and you're so beautiful,"
"Thank you," I say pecking his lips "you look amazing,"
He's wearing dark blue pants and a matching jacket, with a nice white shirt underneath.
"I didn't know if I liked it," he sighs "my dad picked it out with me,"
"Well.." I say fixing the collar on his shirt "I love it, you look very hot in it,"
"Good," he says "I love that skirt,"
"I borrowed it from my mom," I laugh "that's the good thing about having two moms, both around my size, triple wardrobe,"
"Does she know you took it?"
"No," I laugh "it's kinda short on me, she probably wouldn't like it,"
"I love it," He says as we get off the elevator "you know where we're going?"
"Yep, just down the street,"
"Okay, lead the way,"
We go out the back and walk on the boardwalk towards the restaurant.
"Baby, wait up a minute?" I ask when we get to a pretty spot on the boardwalk with lights above it
"What's up Lexi,"
"I love you Hudson," I say with a small smile
"I love you too," he says kissing me
He picks me up and spins me around.
We keep walking to the restaurant and we sit on the same side of the booth.
"Have you been here before?" He asks
"No, it's always been booked when I come down, but my mom says they are the best,"
"Wanna share some garlic bread?" He asks
I nod and smile
"What are you getting to eat?"
"Probably steak, or lobster," I sigh "I cant decide,"
"Me neither,"
"Don't worry about price either, the owner owed my mom money so he said it's on the house," I say
"Really?"
I smile and kiss him
"I love you Hudson,"
"I love you too Lexi,"
We order and have an amazing night.
"Wanna go back?" I ask
He nods and we walk back the same way we came.
"I had a really great time Lexi," he smiles "remind me to thank your moms in the morning,"
"I had a good time too," I smile kissing his cheek
We get to the parking lot and someone tackles Hudson from behind.
They pinned my hands behind my back while someone in a black mask ties Hudson up.
I start screaming my head off and they put something in my mouth and hold me down.
They tie Hudson's hands behind his back and his feet. Then the person connects those two ties to keep him from doing anything.
"All your fault Hudson," someone taunts "watch this,"
They take a blade and slice a portion of my back. It hurts so bad that I spit out the gag and start screaming.
They make a couple more cuts and I throw up from the pain.
They haven't physically touched Hudson yet. But his face is scratched to shit.
They run off and Hudson still can't move because of the bindings and I can't untie him because my wrists are as well.
"SOMEBODY HELP ME!" I scream "SOMEBODY PEASE HELP ME,"
"Baby are you okay?" Hudson asks realizing the people are gone
"I'm fine," I say kissing his head "I need to get us help,"
I start crying and keep yelling.
I finally get my phone out.
"H-hey Siri, call Toni,"
It dials and my mom picks up right away.
"MAMA PLEASE HELP US. PLEASE." I beg
"Baby what's wrong where are you?"
"In the parking lot, near the boardwalk," I yell "please mom, before they come back,"
"I'm coming sweetheart, where's Hudson is he okay?"
"They tied him up, he's okay.. I think," I say still crying "Hudson, Baby, are you okay?"
"I'm okay, I'm just worried about you- those cuts looked deep Lexi,"
"I'm okay Huds,"
I keep crying until I see my moms and uncles come outside.
"MOM! HELP, MOM,"
Cheryl runs over first and hugs me.
"Mommy, we didn't even see them coming," I say crying harder
She unties my hands and kisses my head
I look over and Reggie and Toni are untying Hudson.
"Lexi, look at your back sweetheart,"
"Lets get you inside," Toni says to Hudson "Reggie call his coach,"
We go inside and they give us a room and a first aid kit.
"Lexi, are you okay?" He asks again
"I'm fine Huds, it's just a few marks, how are you?"
He shrugs and it looks like he's crying.
"Baby, my mom said you're okay," I say "just scratches,"
"Lex, we need to take a break,"
"No we don't,"
"Babe,"
"Huds, they were a bunch of jerks playing a prank that went too far," I say "I love you,"
He nods and kisses me
"I love you too,"
My moms come back in with Reggie and his coach with a bigger first aid kit.
"Can you two tell us what happened?" Reggie asks while Toni helps me and Cheryl helps Hudson
"We were walking home from dinner, when someone tackled him from behind," I say "there was at least 3 people tying him up and someone tied my hands,"
"Hudson, that sounds about right?" Reggie asks
"They put a gag in my mouth so I couldn't yell," he says "and then when they started.. hurting Lexi they said..."
He starts crying harder and I grab his hand.
"They said it was his fault it was happening,"
"Do you have any idea who it was?"
"One of them was the son of the guy who used to taunt you from team Oklahoma mama," I say quietly
"How do you know that?"
"He was getting really close to me earlier today and he has a tattoo of a gun on his hand," I say "he was the one holding me
"I think they were all from team Hawaii, at least 2 were on their basketball team- I think," he says "their voices sounded like some of my old teammates- Sonley and Treask,"
"The guy that tackled him definitely played football,"
My mom calls the Hawaii coach down and Cheryl kneels I front of me.
"The cuts aren't deep, they were just trying to scare you okay?"
"It worked,"
"I know baby, I know it did," she says hugging me
"Coach Topaz?" Hudson asks
"What's up Raeleigh?"
"I tried to get back up, t-to help Lexi," he says looking at his hands "I'm sorry, I know you said you didn't want her getting hurt,"
"Hudson, I meant.. like don't cheat on her, or break her heart. There was no way to stop this, it took Reggie and I 5 minutes to u tie those knots and we were both in the military," she says with a smile "I know I give you a hard time, but you're a good kid. Okay? And you don't have to call me coach Topaz when we aren't at school, it's Toni,"
