Bts as things I dislike about fan fiction.
(Disclaimer: Please don't be offended by anything I said, I know fan fiction isn't supposed to be taken seriously. I myself am clearly not a perfect writer, I just thought it would be fun to make this)
Namjoon
Namjoon is very thoughtful and practical, so I think he would agree with me about when fanfics are too unrealistic. I'm not talking about the fantasy genre. I'm taking about when a fanfic is supposed to be based on real life, but there's no actual logic involved.
Example: One time, I read a fic where Y/n was pregnant with quadruplets, and the author said she had a "small" stomach that was barely noticeable, and she was able to hide it for the majority of her pregnancy. If you were pregnant with multiple babies, your stomach would be huge. There would be absolutely no way you could hide that, y'know.
Another example, is when people write about school. A lot of people who write about college have never actually been to college, and I've seen people get roasted for portraying it incorrectly. The most classic example is that one that everyone uses where Y/n moves to Korea and she magically doesn't have to pay for an apartment or anything. Even full ride scholarships have things you need money for.
Also, if Y/n meets *insert idol* and can't speak Korean to him, then how did she pass the Korean literacy test to get into the college from whatever high school she went to?
I also read another story where one of the bts members was cheating on Y/n, and they all knew but didn't tell her. I know this is just imagination, but BTS have shown how nice and compassionate they are, and you're telling me not ONE member thought to question, "hey, this is wrong, I feel bad for not telling Y/n about this". Like I would expect at least Jin or Hoseok to tell her. They don't seem like the type of people to keep secrets like that.
Jin
Seokjin went to college, and we know he's very smart, so like me, he would dislike grammatical errors. Now I'm not saying people can't make mistakes, because I make them all the time in my writing, but sometimes people make obvious mistakes that make me feel like they should know better.
Examples:
The difference between your and you're
The difference between: to, two, and too
The difference between: their, they're, and there
When and when not to capitalize words
Starting any list with a colon
The difference between two words that are either similar, or pronounced the same but spelled differently.
Example: affect and effect, college and collage
He would also appreciate when people actually punctuate their stories.
Yoongi
He seems super chill, and a lot of people like him for his realness, so I think Yoongi would agree with my dislike for unrelatable characters. I hate when I'm reading a story, and the author describes the characters appearance in a way where you can't really identify with them. When I write, I try to leave the appearances of the characters up to the reader. I also dislike when characters have that "not like other girls" approach. This goes along with when characters have no common sense, or are dumb/make dumb decisions, for absolutely no reason.
Hoseok
Hoseok is a very loving and emotional person as we can see. He cares a lot about his band members and other people's feelings. That's why I think he would agree with my dislike for when the main character is a pushover.
I really don't like how some stories let all the other characters walk all over the main character just because they're shy. Being quiet and being shy are not the same thing, so the main character should be able to stand up for themselves instead of being written to take the bad treatment. (There are some instances where it makes sense in the story, but I don't like when the character has no backbone at all)
I also don't like when someone does something bad to the main character, and the main character forgives them easily. I've read so many cheating imagines where *insert idol* cheated on the reader, but by the end of the chapter, the reader takes him back because he said he loves them. If he loved you in the first place, he wouldn't cheat, but that's a conversation for another time.
Jimin
We know Jimin is a ball of sunshine, but he's also a professional. We see how there are two sides of him, because although he's a goofball, he knows when to be serious. He strives for perfection, and doesn't like to make mistakes. I think he would agree with my dislike for when the characters have no social awareness. Like, they don't know when it's time to stop doing whatever they're doing and get serious. I don't really know how to explain an example of this, but I just dislike when Y/n (or anyone in the story) is trying to be serious about something, and no one else is giving them the time of day.
Taehyung
Tae is a sweetheart, with a bad case of resting bitch face. He can be intimidating sometimes, and goofy at others. As we learned from the members, when Tae was younger, he didn't know that much about the world. That's why I think he would agree with my dislike for when someone mistakes a characters niceness for weakness, or when the main character is too naive.
This kind of goes along with Hobis, but I've read a lot of stories where the main character said no to something several times, and then ended up being forced to do whatever it was anyways.
One time I was reading this one about Yoongi, where he was horny but the reader was tired. She said no several times, and she was just watching tv and chilling eating. She ended up giving him what he wanted, but I think that if someone says no, they mean no. Also, I don't like to be interrupted while I'm eating or watching shows/videos, so if you need anything, don't bother me until I'm done.
Jungkook
Jungkook is the golden maknae, and rightfully so. He has a lot of talent, and seems to be good at everything he does. However, he's also humble and worked had to get where he is today. That's why I think he would agree with my dislike for arrogant characters.
I hate when I'm reading a story, and the character that's supposed to be me just somehow has every single talent on the fucking Earth. Like I know people can be good at things, but sometimes it's a tad unrealistic. The person is somehow a child prodigy, gymnast, and ballerina who went to college at 16, which makes it incredibly unrelatable for the reader. I also don't like bragging, so when a character is flexing/showing off, it really makes me dislike them.
Again sorry if this offended anyone. These are just my personal opinions. Pls don't attack me. I probably still make these mistakes occasionally, but I do try not to so that my writing is as enjoyable as possible 😊
