Cheryl's POV
Toni, Lexi, and I are having a nice lunch in Pops today.
"Want me to feed Lexi so you can relax?" Toni asks
"It's alright baby. I'm okay,"
"You're cute," she says putting her hand on the table
I take her hand and smile.
"Mama pwease vewa fwies?" Lexi asks pointing at our fries
"You want some fries baby?" I laugh "can you say roar please? Can you say roar for mommy?"
"Woah," she laughs
"No, sweetie," I laugh "R-roar-R,"
"Roah," She says
"Good job buggy," I laugh
I make the fries smaller and help her eat them.
I'm trying to help her speech. I know she's young to be talking as much as she is but I don't want her to have any speech impediments that I could have helped her with.
"You're so good with her," Toni says
"So are you babe," I giggle
I see Veronica walk in and roll my eyes.
She's been harmless but annoying.
"The Topaz family, America's sweethearts," she says
"Veronica Lodge, human trash ," I reply
"Always a pleasure Cheryl," she says "hi baby, who no one will tell me the name of,"
"It will stay that way," I hiss
"What are you doing here Veronica?"
"Waiting for my boyfriend,"
I roll my eyes and someone familiar walks in.
"Alex?"
"Oh my god hi Cheryl, hi Toni," he says "hey babe,"
He kisses Veronica and I gag.
"Alex outside now," I demand
We walk outside.
Leaving Tones with V wasn't a good idea but at least I have my child.
"Are you fucking insane?" I ask
"Wha-?"
"Alex, I don't know how long you have been dating Veronica but stop it. She's criminally insane and literally tried to murder me and Toni,"
"Bu-"
"No. No ifs, no ands, no buts. I know you're a great person and I'm not letting you do it. I named my daughter after you and through that, I wanted you to be a big influence in her life but there's no way Veronica is coming any where near my kid,"
"Cheryl it's like our second date and I was drunk for the first one,"
"You better be drunk for the second one or it will be the longest hour of your life," I say
"You really hate her,"
"She abused me and bullied me into a eating disorder, hit me with a truck and that's all before my 17th birthday," I say
"Oh ya, so that hate is warranted," he says
He explains what's going on and I see Ronnie leave the restaurant anyways.
We agree to meet up soon and I go back to see Toni.
"Hey baby, are you okay?" I ask
"Gave her hell princess," she smirks
"That's my girl," I say taking her hand again
"I love you Cheryl,"
"I love you too Toni," I smile
Reggie and Liz walk in and I wave them over
"Topaz you pumped for the season?" Reggie asks sitting down
"Oh ya," she says high fiving him "we going 3 for 3?"
"Probably with the systems you have in place,"
They sit down and we talk for a while.
"How's this cutie today?" Liz asks tickling Lexi
"She's talkative as usual and she's very happy,"
"Mama pwease fwie?"
"Sweetheart, can you say 'fry' for mommy please?"
"Fwrie,"
Close enough.
"Good job baby," I smile kissing the top of her head and moving the fries closer to her
"She has really good speaking skills for her age," Liz says
"Ya we're working on it," I say rubbing Lex's back
Toni and Reggie go to the fields and Liz has a doctors appointment so I go home and relax.
"Lexi what do you want to do?"
"Su-im," She says
"You wanna swim bug?" I ask
"Yay!" She says
I put her bathing suit on and get a work call.
Distracted I go to my room and try and change while answering questions to this idiot on the phone.
"For the last time. It's 14 500 if they want that package, if they want that package upsell them to the a better one because it's not great,"
I hear tumbling and screaming
"Fuck," I mumble hanging up the phone
I thought I brought Lex with me.
I run out and see Lex fell down the stairs.
Oh my god.
I lose my footing and also fall down the stairs.
I smash my knee and head but avoid Lexi who's crying at the bottom.
"Hey sweetheart are you okay? Lexi look at mommy ok?" I say
I can barely sit up
"Mama, I Okay," she says "su-im?"
"Baby I'm going to call mama, okay? Mommy's not feeling good,"
"Mama Okay?" She asks
"Mommy's okay sweetheart," I say getting my phone out of my pocket
I shouldn't call Toni, she'll panic and that's bad for the baby.
"Hey Liv?" I say dialling her number
"Oh hey Blossom, Liv is just at the doctor with LJ, she forgot her phone- do you need something?" RJ says
"N-n-no," I stutter "well actually y-yeah kinda. Are you busy?"
"Not at all, is everything okay?"
"I fell down the stairs and hit my head really bad. I-i feel like I'm going to pass out, but I'm alone with Lexi, and I can't.."
"Wheres Toni?" He asks
"W-with reggie, but if I tell her she'll freak out or divorce me- probably both. Don't call her, please,"
"Blossom I'm almost there, stay awake. You said you fell down the stairs? Where's Lexi right now?"
"She fell down the stairs before me because I w-wasn't watching her. I got a call and got distracted. I didn't mean to, I thought I had her with me,"
"Cheryl is Lexi okay?" He asks
"She's talking and smiling," I say "she looks okay, barely cried,"
"That's good then she's okay Cheryl," he says "okay I'm here, is your door open?"
"Y-yeah,"
He hangs up just as the door opens.
And I pass out.
...
"Blossom I'm here, you're okay. Lexi's okay, Toni's on her way,"
"I told you not to call her,"
"I called Reggie," he says "she's not stressed,"
I nod and sit up against the stairs.
"Where's Lexi?" I panic
"Liv got out of her doctors appointment early and came over, she has her,"
I nod and start crying.
"What's wrong Cheryl?"
"I left my 13 month old child alone and she fell down a flight of stairs and then I panicked and also fell down the stairs. I'm an idiot and Toni is going to hate me, she's going to hate me Reilly,"
"She won't Cheryl," he says
"She will, I wasn't there I git distracted and couldn't help her. What if she hit her head as hard as I did? She would've died,"
"Blossom slow down, you're going to make your self pass out again," he says
I nod and drink some of the water he got me.
"Who called you?"
"Work, some idiot in New York can't figure out how to upsell a market," I sigh
I get another work call and pick it up.
"What now?" I ask
"Mrs. Blossom, I heard a commotion at the end of our call and wanted to make sure all was well, you mentioned you were home alone,"
"I'm okay, just fell down the stairs,"
"Do you need an ambulance,"
"No thank you, one of my friends came, but in the system please change my last name,"
"To what ma'am?"
"Topaz, T-O-P-A-Z,"
"Done, talk soon,"
I hang up sit there with RJ.
I don't want Tones to be mad at me
