Chapter eight
"Sweet Caroline."
At school, Caroline, Mercedes and Kurt were talking at the lockers as one of the hockey players, known as Karofsky had take on the slushing the losers opposed to the football players where as he came in their direction, Caroline screamed and jumped towards Kurt who wrapped his arms around her as he looked away ready for the two of them to get hit but it never came "my weave!" Mercedes yelled, ducking down but she didn't get it either, as the three turned their heads watching him continue down the hallway.
Sitting in glee club later, Finn had been the one to get sloshed as Caroline, Mercedes and Kurt sat together watching as Quinn cleaned him off "the slushee war has commenced." Kurt informed them "and if Finn and Quinn get nailed, none of us are safe." Mercedes mentioned as Mr Schuester walked in "okay, guys. We're a little behind for sectionals, thanks to our Sue Sylvester detour. But you guys seemed to really enjoy doing mash ups, right?" he asked as Santana and Britney walked over to sit down.
"I'm going to keep you guys fired up. Plus, there's an important lesson to be learned with mash ups. Sometimes things are so different they don't feel like they go together. But the big difference between them is what makes them great. Like..chocolate and bacon." Mr Schuester told told them "or glee club and football." Finn mentioned "exactly. But you've proven that it is a great combination." Mr Schuester told him as he walked towards Mercedes, Kurt and Caroline "so, here is.." he chuckled, handing out the sheet music "my personal favorite song. And your homework for the week is to find an unexpected mash up to go with it." he shared, handing out more to the others "bust a move?" Kurt asked.
"Yeah, this song is old school." Mercedes mentioned as Mr Schuester handed out all the sheet music "all right, um..Artie." he said as he made his way over to him "yeah?" Artie asked as Mr Schuester spun him around "try to follow along on the bass. Finn, take us through it." he told them "uh, I'm sorry, Mr Schuester. I got corn syrup in my eye." Finn told him "okay. Uh, Puck. How about it?" Mr Schuester asked him "I don't really groove on young MC. But you wanna know who did, Caroline in her fourth grade talent show, remember that, Finn?" Puck asked, turning and looking at Caroline with a smirk "was that the one with the backwards hat?" Finn asked, chuckling as Caroline shook her head "screw you both! Seeing as I did win that year, okay?" she asked.
"I am shocked at the lack of leading men ambition in this room right now." Rachel mentioned as Mr Schuester walked to the stand and put the sheet music down "it's okay, Rachel. I guess I'm going to have to show these guys how it's done." he told them, unbuttoning his white button up and leaving him in a grey t shirt as everyone cheered for him, as Mr Schuester started singing.
"Bust it!"
In which Artie started playing the guitar while Finn started playing the drums as the piano guy started playing the piano as Mr Schuester made his way over to Mike and Matt, pushing them off of the piano.
"This here's a tale for all the fellas
Tryin' to do what those ladies tell us
Get shot down 'cause you're overzealous
Play hard to get, females get jealous."
The three started dancing as Mr Schuester then skipped over to Caroline, Kurt and Mercedes, going behind Santana and Britney.
"OK smarty, go to a party
Girls are scantily clad and showin' body
A chick walks by, you wish you could sex her."
He sang as he went up to Quinn grabbing her right hand and pulling her out of her seat as he spun her around.
"But you're standin' on the wall like you was Poindexter."
He then turned heading down the steps and down to Artie as he moved around him.
"New movie's showin', so you're goin'
Could care less about the five you're blowin'
Theatre gets dark just to start the show
And then you spot a fine woman sittin' in your row."
He had spun Artie around, in which he turned heading back to the others as Quinn, Santanan and Britney were all up dancing and so was Mercedes and Tina.
"She's dressed in yellow, she says "Hello
Come sit next to me, you fine fellow!"
He slid Puck over as he sat between him and Rachel.
You run over there without a second to lose
And what comes next? Hey, bust a move!"
He got up and slid across the floor on his knees as the others began singing.
"You want it, you got it."
He then walked up to Caroline pulling her out of her seat and as he did, the two of them began dancing, break dancing on the floor.
"You want it, baby, you got it."
Then Matt and Mike sang
"Just bust a move!"
As the others then continued singing.
"You want it, you got it

The two then got up, as Mr Schuester moved Matt over to Santana as he started singing again
"Your best friend Harry has a brother Larry
In five days from now he's gonna marry
He's hopin' you can make it there if you can
'Cause in the ceremony you'll be the best man."
Then Santana went back to her friends as Caroline, Mike and Matt all started dancing together, moving their feet as Mr Schuester came up to them doing the same move.
"You say "neat-o", check your libido
And roll to the church in your new tuxedo
The bride walks down just to start the wedding
And there's one more girl you won't be getting."
Then Mr Schuester left them to dance as he went over to Kurt and walked up behind, making him stand up.
"So you start thinkin', then you start blinkin'
A bridemaid looks and thinks that you're winkin'
She thinks you're kinda cute so she winks back
And then you're feelin' really fine 'cause the girl is stacked."
In which Kurt rolled his eyes and walked away from him as Mr Schuester turned to the rest of them as they all began jumping.
"Reception's jumpin', bass is pumpin'
Look at the girl and your heart starts thumpin'
Says she wants to dance to a different groove
Now you know what to do, G, bust a move!"
Then they all were singing

As Mr Schuester ran back over, waving hands and sang
"just bust a move."
He then turned heading away from them again as they all sang

He then came back over to them and said
"movie it boy."
As they all then continued to dance as they were vocalizing, finishing off the song as Mr Schuester ran over to Artie and wheeled him over to them and spun him around, as Caroline and Mr Schuester both spinned as the other said
"just bust a move!"
Caroline and Mr Schuester then ended the song in a split.
The next day in school, everyone was sitting in the glee club goofing off as Mr Schuester then walked in "so, any ideas for the mash up?" he asked as everyone stopped talking and just looked at him, nobody having any ideas "anybody?" he asked them, but nobody said anything "oh, come on, guys! It's like you're daring me to start dancing." he told them going to dance "oh, no!" Rachel voiced as others laughed "I've been working on something." Puck spoke up, having been talking to the band since he got here, having been holding a guitar as they all looked to him "oh yeah?" Mr Schuester asked him "it's my personal tribute to a musical jewish icon." Puck shared as he looked to Rachel, Caroline furrowed her brows having thought Rachel had a thing for her brother.
"uh, fantastic." Mr Schuester told him as he waved his hand "let's hear it." he told him, walking up the stairs to find a seat as Puck began playing the guitar and started to sing.
"Where it began, I can't begin to knowin'

Was in the spring, and spring became the summer

Rachel was looking at Puck the whole time and he was looking at her as he walked to the middle of the room, in which Caroline was surprised he'd go for a girl like her compared to his previous relationships.
"Hands, touching hands

He sang, looking at Caroline, making her smile as she shook her head, while Tina reached over nudging her.

He then walked up to her and leaned down to her as he continued to sing.

As the song ended everyone in the room was clapping as Caroline rolled her eyes, shoving him in the shoulder, knowing three other girls in the room would chew her out to have been sang to by him.
But then by the time glee club was rolling around on Thursday there was gonna be a show down at three thirty for if the football players apart of glee club were gonna choose glee or football and with how her brother had been being treated around here, she had this feeling he would choose being popular again over singing, in which they all were staring at the clock as Mr Schuester walked in, just as it reached three thirty which was when they all turned their heads to the door, yet nobody arrived right away "I guess they're not coming. I'm really sorry, guys." Mr Schuester shared "I can't believe this. I thought they were out friends. How can they just abandon us?" Mercedes asked.
As footsteps could be heard outside, soon Mike and Matt came walking in as Santana and Britney walked up to them, hugging them, as the four then walked back over to them all, they still waited for if the other two would show up and then out all people, Puck was the next one to walk in which made Caroline's eyes go wide as other's gasped, Rachel walked towards him "are you sure about this, Noah? Choosing us over the team means you might get a slushee in your face every day." she shared, as Puck then looked back at them all and then back down at Rachel "bring it." he said, making all of them laugh as him and Rachel hugged "where's Finn?" Artie asked "clearly caring more about his popular rather then us winning sectionals." Caroline shared, turning on her heel and walking off.
Where the next morning, Caroline was running through the hallway, having heard from Finn when he drove her that it was his turn to slushee someone today and that his subject of today was Kurt, after he had announced quitting the team and choosing glee, in which people were moving out of her way from her running so fast where, where when it came to turn the corner, her shoes slid across the floor, as she saw Rachel, Mercedes, Tina and Artie, standing by Kurt's locker and her brother holding a slushee in his hand "well, we can't have that, can we?" Kurt asked, but when he reached for slushee, Caroline ran up grabbing it as well "what are you doing?" Kurt asked her "saving you!" Caroline voiced, pulling it towards her "no, I'm helping your brother." Kurt told her, pulling it towards him "well, I know how hard you work on your face so just give it to me!" Caroline voiced, pulling it towards her not knowing that Kurt let go "fine!" he told her.
In which when she pulled it, she slipped on the floor and when she fell the slushee was thrown in her face as she fell to the floor, dumping it all over herself as well, in which Rachel, Kurt, Mercedes, Tina and Artie gasped "Caroline, I.." Finn was telling her but he really didn't know what to say as Kurt looked at him "now get out of here. Take time to think whether or not any of of your friends on the football would have done that for you." he told him, as Finn turned walking away in shock, having never wanted to slushee his sister "are you okay?" Mercedes asked her "get her to a day spa, stat!" Kurt voiced, as Tina went and held open the bathroom door, Rachel and Mercedes helped Caroline up, as the two brought her to the bathroom as Kurt followed after them.
The next day, Caroline had headed out to the football field to glare at her brother from the stands to remind him how much of an idiot he is for choosing popularity over real friends but as she did, Puck was there watching his teammates cheer for each other as one of the linebackers knocked over a practice thing to help prepare for it to be an actual person "okay, I may not have been able to tell you this since you've been Rachel Berry's arm candy for the past few days but if any of those idiots out there think they can slushee you, without getting a beat down is delusional." she shared, chuckling, as she sat down next to Puck, as Puck scoffed "at least someone's realistic. But don't worry about me and Rachel, before you got here we broke up." he told her.
As Caroline looked at him all sad "aw, do you wanna talk about it?" she asked him, but as she did, it her frown turned into a smirk as Puck shoved her in the shoulder "shut up." he told her as Caroline laughed "oh, come on! Rachel Berry? I mean you had be thrown for a loop for a second but I knew that wasn't gonna last. And even if it was from your taste in women, I know Rachel has a hard core crush on my brother." she shared "yeah, well he's not gonna leave.." Puck was telling her as Caroline sighed 'Quinn, I know! The girl is horrible to me. You know, she kicked me out of my house and told me to play outside?" She asked, shaking her head at the memory "but I'm a stud, I should be able to hold onto a chick like Rachel. Why don't girls like me?" Puck asked.
In which Caroline turned to him with raised brows "well, if it makes you feel any better, I like you." she told him and the only reason she let her little crush slip was because she knew he was so oblivious to him it would go right over his head "yeah, but you have to like me, and if it wasn't just because Finn's like my brother but because you're not a girl girl! You like football and can do karate.." Puck was telling her, and if the potential, you're my sister comment wasn't enough, the you're not a girl, girl really bothered her as she huffed and stood up, walking off, in which Puck turned to her with furrowed brows "hey! I thought we were talking!" he yelled to her, but Caroline didn't turn back.
And soon the Thursday practice of the football guys having to choose glee had been no longer as Finn was back in glee, and Quinn had officially been thrown off the cheerios as she no longer was allowed to wear her uniform as they all stood in glee club as Finn held a tray of slushees "so what do you think about my welcome back gift for the club, huh, guys?" he asked them as they all grabbed one "thanks for the slushees, Finn. They're delicious." Rachel shared "yeah, delicious when they're not being thrown in your face." Caroline mumbled as they laughed, Mr Schuester had walked in "and loaded with empty calories. You know why they call them slushees don't you? Because your butt looks like one if you have too many of them." Kurt shared.
"I'd like to propose a toast, to Mr Schue. You were right about glee club and football being a killer combination." Finn shared as they all cheered, clinking their plastic cups together "Mr, Schue, I am sorry to report that we've all been remiss about completing our assignment this week." Artie shared "yeah, none of us could find a good groove for bust a move." Mercedes shared as some of them chuckled "and I personally feel like a failure." Artie mentioned as they laughed "well, that's okay, guys. Because I feel like the lesson landed. And that's what's important. And we are glad to have you back, Finn." Mr Schuester shared, chuckling as he clinked his plastic cup with Finn's as the others cheered.
But then they all looked to Quinn who hadn't been saying anything just looking upset "you okay, Quinn?" Mr Schuester asked her "do I look, okay? Im devastated. Now that I'm off the cheerios, I'll start everyday with a slushee facial." Quinn shared "that's okay if that happens, Quinn, because there are twelve of your friends right here who are gonna be more then happy to help clean you off." Mr Schuester shared and as everyone cheered, Caroline didn't "oh! Mmm, brain freeze." Mr Schuester told them as he stepped away from them, they all chuckled "I can't imagine getting hit in the kisser with one of these." Mr Schuester shared as Finn then looked to them all, it seemed everyone had the same idea.
"You've never been hit by a slushee before Mr Schue?" Artie asked him as they all made their way towards him"umm." Mr Schuester told them as he looked at them, holding his hands up "all right, guys." he told them, sighing "we're a team. Bring it on. Give me your best show." he told them, holding his arms out "one, two, three!" Rachel counted off, as they all then threw their slushees at him as Mr Schuester screamed, getting purple slushee all over him as he sighed "all right, from the top." he told them, drinking his slushee, as they all laughed and cheered.
