It was Nightfall, The Sun was long gone, and the Half-moon was our only light source, glistening in the sky like a dimmed Light Crystal.

I said in my head, while Hope and determination, not just for the city, but for Lynette.
However my deep thought was shattered as I noticed a glint of light occur in the distance, from the north gate
"...?" I look towards the location, before...
"!" "Everyone, Take cover!" With that yelled out order several defenders hurriedly hid under protected and roofed areas, while other used shields to cover them. I used my shield to cover myself.
Fire Arrows began striking several areas by the north gate, the arrowfall lasted for several seconds, before I could hear the compiled yells of hundreds of individuals occur from the distance and the clattering noises of weaponry.
"...They're here! Evacuate all civilians by the north gate! Armed volunteers be cautious!" I yelled, signalling several defenders to prepare for battle.

From my binoculars, Several Arrows engulfed in Fire rained down from the sky, Several arrows have landed from the balcony, I tried to zoom out just a bit to see if any civilians were killed or injured fortunately their seemed to be no deaths, but from this distance and the obstruction by some landmarks, I'am unsure whether there are injuries and if there are, how severe are they.
"Engulfed By Fire..." I uttered
"Director, you will have to remain in the mansion."
"Kara, I can't do that... I have to do something, lives are spat stale and I can't revive my personnel, I'am only capable of replacing them which seems selfish and uncaring. And I'm not a coward."
"Well you acted like one, in your previous life."
"...What?" I said with confusion as I turned towards Kara
"A- I was, Just being Offensive, I'm sorry sir." she replied, oh Goodness. I thought she knows my personal memories too... O-Or does she? N-No... this is not the time to be pondering.
"I see... Kara, please. I need to do something. Do you know how fight alongside several personnel?"
"I can fight easily on my own, I never miss." She assured
"Alright, then we'll be separating here, Esther and I will be heading for the north gate, Please don't get yourself injured."
"No promises." she smiled, before heading for the Land Rover Defender.
"W-Wait." I immediately say, stopping her in her tracks.
"hm?"
"That punishment last time was lighthearted, Here." I brought out her two Uzi Submachine Guns, and she reluctantly took hold of them.
"Are you really-?"
"Yes." I replied
She eventually took a stance to salute, before she entered the Land Rover, she accelerated in speed alongside the M5 Armoured personnel Carrier
Esther was near me, and I looked to her staff which she held.
"Alright, Esther. You might feel disoriented, but this will work." I said as I raise my hand
"What will?"
"What you saw me do, During that Golem Incident." I said, before immediately grabbing the staff she was still holding with both hands in a diagonal position, and quickly 'Blinked' out of the area, I have been testing this ability multiple times over, I seem to have gotten used to it, though I still feel slightly temporarily weakened in terms of Senses, I may bypass this too.

The Gate was reduced to Pieces, and I was now back down to the ground
Our forces were already firing our blows to the incoming attackers.
"Keep holding them!" I yelled, as We remained in-front of the Semi-Circle secondary walls made of crude materials, as several of me and my guards held out and took down several brigands attempting to breach our blockade. However morale began to weaken as a large armoured man approached through the Destroyed gate, he stood taller than 7 feet, and was muscular, his body was littered with what seemed to be Cast Iron, and wielded a large double-bladed Axe.
"Dammit... No... I'm not giving up!" I casted Fire bolt, the bolts meant to pierce standard iron, however it simply deflected off of their surface, I stumbled slightly before I straightened myself up, and held my sword, and charged
He swung his axe at me, I dodged, however several soldiers didn't escape unscathed, few were injured while fewer died.
I stabbed my sword into the lower torso of the berserker, however I was kicked away, while I did damage my sword was cracked. What was he wearing!?
several crossbowmen, beside and behind the berserker, many of them had support-Type females that had outfits similar to nuns and mages, I was all that's left defending the people behind me.

As several crossbowmen and soldiers point their weapons towards me, they were quickly blasted back with large amounts of force, and their bodies were on Either on fire or reduced to Ash. Their support were also damaged to an extent but were not fatally wounded

"F**K HAA- AaRgh!" The berserker raised his axe, however he was knocked back seemingly out of nowhere. He was launched from his feet towards the gate, also crushing or knocking back several of the brigands due to his size. One of the brigands who seemed to be a warrior donning heavy armour but can sprint fast dashed towards me, I ignored what just occurred and held my sword blocking his. Our swings traded until he knocked me back, he tried to lunge his sword forward and into my torso however...

I 'relayed' between the armoured individual and the Knight Leader, My Eyes were heterochromic, my left a dull lifeless blue, while my right a bright sky blue. I held an M1911 colt government pistol with my left hand pointed directly towards the skull of the armoured man.
"Auf Wiedersehen." I said before pulling the trigger

The exceptionally loud bang of the Pistol resounded the area, and several people covered their ears. And the armoured man fell lifelessly backwards.
I look forward to see several brigands entering through and the berserker was standing up once more. I had the gun retract into my inventory before I raised my right hand to manipulate surrounding air particles to an exceptional degree. Explosive-like Spontaneous combustion occurred that reduced several brigands to infernos, I immediately pinned the berserker back down to the ground on his back while he attempted to charge, and I used a sum of my ability to erect Large Iron shards from the ground up, where he stood...
"AAGH-" his scream was cut off as his upper body and lower body were 'separated' as the shards pierced through his armour, The large shard-shaped obstructions blocking the Gate, while not completely effective as cannons or large projectiles can damage it, it was still useful.
I lower my hands, and turned around to see Elizabet, looking at me with confusion, I did notice several others had the same expression, but I never focused my gaze around me.

"Appear weak when you are strong, It's a reputable Deception tactic." I replied, recalling a quote from Sun Tzu.
"..." she didn't reply, as if she was in deep thought.
"The North gate is not the only problem, Ms. Echethier, The East and South Gates are under Defensive assault too, Its a besiege. Several of my personnel have already began to assist the defence, however we also have limits to our firepower." I said, before Esther approached forward and held her to create balls of Fire to intimidate and prevent an escape from one of the supports and remaining brigands in the north Gate.

"Knights!" I yelled which caught my men's attention
"We need to defend this city, I want our forces to split, one group will head for the South Gate, another will head for the east, and another will remain here!"

(Kara POV)
The East Gate, Director's Orders... Do not get harmed, I have managed to reach the gate it was already being pummels by a battering ram, I used the rover-defender to ram through the barricade while the M5 blocked the gap, and I halted the defender it's right side facing the Gate. The battering ram then breathed through the Gate, and several brigands began to enter.
"Sergeant! The Panzerfaust!" I yelled, To which the sergeant from the Half-track held a Panzerfaust 3 Recoilless Anti-tank weapon, we have very few in stock as they were relatively modern weapons while we are comparatively stuck in the Early-Cold war era.
The projectile launched reduced the Battering ram to mere Pieces, as its wooden frame was now engulfed in flames.
"What!? What was-!? Screw it! Keep going-!"
"Open Fire!" I gave out my orders as about Four personnel stood by my sides, All four of them wielding M16A2 Semi-automatic Assault Rifles, while I held an Uzi. Our guns continued to pummel through the incoming crows, and the voluntary-defensive onlookers looked with horror and awe, a strange combination.
Bullets whiz by, but I never miss most of my bullets hit crucial parts of the body, such as the Head & Heart.
The only problem was that they were swarming in...
"Hold it!" One man yelled as he survived the barrage, which caught our attention, but as we drew our guns towards him, we see he a young woman and a child with tattered clothing lying belly-first on the ground as the man, held two swords to their necks
"*sigh* so you're those type of people, that will only bring you weakness..." He faintly said.
"Fight back and I'll kill these two!" He yelled, which forced us to hold fire, Director didn't want us to sacrifice civilian lives, we only watched as several other brigands began to enter, kicking over the corpses of their fallen comrades, with no sense of respect for the dead.
"And give those weapons to us, or perhaps... you lady over there become our slave!" A different man yelled, as he stood by the first man. I immediately expressed annoyance and disgust.
"Shut up, right now..." the first man immediately looked to the other
"What? Sir I know it will be fun and they can't do anything due to your hostages, so watch me-!" His sentence was cut off as a bullet pierced his forehead.
"wha-? Who fired?" I asked my men, however most of them shook their heads.
"What was that!? Ah, Screw it!" He eventually drew his swords to swing at the two hostages, however...
Director athletically parkoured over the M5's Front Hood and altered his molecular position to glitch into a closer combat range to the man and punched him in the torso, knocking him back, and and the man dropped one of his swords.
"B- *cough* *cough*" he couldn't mutter out any words.
"Kill him!" One brigand yelled, and several of them charged towards Director.
"Director! Your orders!"
"Hold Fire!" He replied back, as distortions forced almost all of them down to the ground and their weapons' blades slowly dissolved into Dust.
"Kara... Are you injured?"
"Barely, we managed to fend them off, but it was likely I would considering I halted firing due to the hostages. I'm sorry, Director."
"No... That was the right order, you did good, Lieutenant Colonel" He replied back, with a calmer tone.
"... Kara, please restrain these individuals." He replied shortly after a bit of silence
(Matthew POV)
At-least I managed to keep Casualties to a minimum, I truly am thankful for your judgement Kara. I shouldn't have shot the guy, but molestation and sexual slavery is, to my eyes, a federal crime.
"Well Played..." A Voice resounded, I then turned around to see the man who held the two hostages.
"*cough* While we never traded blows, you have my respect... it is clear you have will for the people. *laugh* I longed for that when I was young..." he continued.
I didn't reply, but I still understood.
"... *cough* This Force was not the main force."
"What?" I replied, visible confusion displayed.
"What you just fought were cannon fodder, Three Heavily armoured Battalions will be heading for the north, east, and South Gate respectively..."
"Is this a deception tactic?"
"*cough* I'm not lying... *inhale* These are insurgent forces disguised, they are soldiers from the empire. We were to attack this city due to being a point of trading and its large population. Too bad they didn't take to account outside help."
"..." I didn't reply, as he went unconscious from the amount of internal trauma I caused.
"Kara... We need to head for the north gate, Esther is still over there." I said as I raised my hand towards the South Gate, and closed the opening with large ferrous obstructions, slicing the bartering ram in two and effectively sealing the Gate.
"Affirmative."
