"Fine! I might have a little crush on Micha!" Marley finally cracked after me dangling a bag of gummy sharks above her head for like three seconds.
"I ship it!" Robyn sang.
"Dammit. Here" Cael handed me a five dollar bill. I smirked.
"What did you two bet on this time?!" Marley was still pink. Hah. She blushes even worse than I do.
"I thought your next for reals crush would be on a guy" Cael shrugged.
"I know which way you lean" I waved the five dollars around.
"So, any clever ideas on how to get them together?" Robyn prompted. I took Marley's phone and added Micha to her contacts.
"Do your own flirting, Mar" I smirked. Despite the front she puts up, when she actually has a crush, Marley is the most adorably shy girl ever. It's kinda cute actually. I mean, not like 'I like her' cute, but 'oh my god that's so sweet' cute.
She just stared at her phone, thumbs poised. Nothing.
"Mar, you have to talk to her to get her to talk to you" I mused.
"The hell do I say, genius?" She replied halfheartedly.
"Say hi. It's Marley" Robyn sighed. See what I mean? The girl is so hopeless. Time to do some behind the scenes helping. I take out my phone and start texting Micha.
Me : what do u think of Marley??
As usual, she replied immediately.
Micha : she has a crush on me. Doesn't she.
Me : ...
Me : what do u think of Marley
Micha : lol. She isn't half bad. Kinda cute, actually. ;p
Me : is that a 'I'm implying I like her ;p ' or an 'I'm just saying this because ur her friend and I am trying to let you down easy ;p ' ???
Micha: three ?s? She has a big crush on me. ;) I'm free when u r, invite mar over, ditch us... I'll answer your question then ;p
Me : fine. Do I tell her ur coming?
Micha : sure. If you don't she might not dress for company and if I'm right, she will be mortified ;) I think we're going to be great friends, 13
Me : as long as u don't hurt my mar. Ttyl, K?
Micha : by the way, 13, Hazel has picked up on how much we're texting. Okay it off right, Hazel might not know it but she gets severely jealous ;3
Me : u do like mar, don't you?
Micha : how'd you figure?
Me : you'd've told me if she had no chance.
Micha : clever girl. Admittedly you're correct. U ok with us?
Me : u kidding? I wouldn't be trying to set you up if the group already decided you two are good
Micha : k, 13. When u want me over?
Me : four days? Fiveish? Have mar ur # do me a favor and get to know her before ur 'date' she can b awkward
Micha : that's why I've been getting texts... She forgot to send me her name *sigh* ttyl, 13 ;)
"Who were you texting?" Marley looked at me as I stuffed my phone back into my bag.
"Micha. She wants to come over again in four days. You game?"
"I don't- crap..." I think she just got a text from Micha about not giving a name. She was bright red. "I don't know" she finished.
"Mar, you're coming" I have her a semi stern look. "Now, we're going to our next class" I pulled Marley to her feet and draped an arm over her shoulder. We walked out together.
"So... Marley... What were you texting her about?" I whispered into her ear. She reddened.
"I don't even know... I'm too damn dysfunctional to have a normal conversation with her" she whispered back. I laughed and kissed her cheek.
"Sweetie, that's kind of adorable" I laughed, but stopped when I spotted Hazel eying us as she passed us in the hallway. She was definitely giving Marley the evil eye.
"Is there something on her face, Hazel?" I interrupted when Hazel actually came to a stop when we were close.
Without a word said, she turned and walked away.
"What's her problem?" I sighed with exasperation.
"I'm pretty sure that she was trying to kill me with her eyes" we shook it off and continued for our next class.
It was really kind of weird. Hazel showed up a lot today... Always when I was around Marley... And most of the time it was also when we were whispering and she'd be blushing. I think there may just be something to Micha's advice; Hazel might just be jealous. Or just wishful thinking.
