tvd - season 6, episode 18 - i never could love like that
OLIVIA LEFT MYSTIC FALLS AND TRAVELLED ALL THE WAY TO Charlottesville to look for the another person who could trigger Lucas Hastings humanity switch back on. The blonde Mikaelson parked her vehicle outside an apartment complex and looked at it before letting a sigh and headed towards the door in search of a certain blonde vampire.
Olivia made her way upstairs until she stopped in front of the apartment door, she inhaled a breath hopping he was inside. She raised her hand and knocked on the door. Seconds later the door opened to reveal a blonde haired guy with his brows furrowed.
"Hi, my name is Olivia." She introduced herself, "I need your help."
"Jace." He introduced himself, his eyes traveled up and down observing her. She didn't look familiar but the name did, "Do I know you?"
Olivia cleared her throat, "No, but you're Jace Hastings. You're Lucas' cousin and I'm his best friend."
In an instant, Jace finally recognized her name, the best friend Lucas had mentioned a lot of times. If it weren't for Lucas denying he didn't like her, Jace would've thought the two were together.
"Olivia Mikaelson." Jace nodded, stepping aside, letting her inside the house. "You're the one who turned Lucas."
Olivia softly smiled at him, stepping inside the apartment. It was simple, it looked like it fitted him well. There was not many photographs, but she instantly spotted one—Lucas and Jace were side by side, huge smiles on their face.
"Look—"
"Why do you need my help? As I recall, Lucas died for saving your ass back in New Orleans." Jace said, walking to the kitchen grabbing two glasses and placed them on top of the table.
"He's alive—very much alive." Olivia revealed, "We brought him back from the Other Side. It's a long story but he flipped the switch and I need your help for him to flip it back."
Jace handed her a cup fulled of bourbon which she gladly took. "My cousin turned if off and you believe I can trigger it back on?"
Olivia nodded, "I heard about you, you guys were like brothers. He turned you because you guys don't have anymore family. It was my fault he died, and I owed it to him to bring him back and he is and I owe it to myself to bring back my best friend."
"I haven't seen him in—"
"I know." Olivia interrupted, "We don't have enough time, can you help me?"
"I—"

Jace Hastings decided to help Olivia, which is why the hybrid drove him back to Mystic Falls. The two getting to know one another and Olivia could see why Jace was Lucas' favorite cousin. The laughs from the car could be heard, once Jace had finished telling a joke.
"So, you're telling me you're a werewolf and a vampire?" Jace asked, looking at the hybrid, softly smiling. He couldn't help but admire, she was beautiful.
"A hybrid." Olivia nodded, keeping her eyes on the road, exiting the freeway and driving to Whitmore. "My father handed my brother and I the gene and well then my mother turned us into vampire."
"The same father that killed Lucas?" Jace asked.
"No, that's my step-father. My real father died—murdered by the anger my step-father felt." Olivia briefly explained. She couldn't help but think of Ansel. Olivia glanced at her phone and handed it to Jace. "Can you dial Damon Salvatore, please?"
Jace nodded, unlocking her phone and looked for Damon's contact, once he did he dialed the number and placed it on speaker.
"Wolfie?"
"Where are they?" Olivia asked once she heard his voice.
"Skull Bar." Damon informed her, "Meet you there?"
"Yeah—I brought someone with me." Olivia told him, her eyes on the road, "He's going to help us switch Lucas switch back on so we can turn on Caroline's."
"Got it."
Damon said his last goodbyes before he hung up. Jace glanced at her, "How many vampires have their humanity switch off?"
"Three." Olivia responded, "Lucas is my friends emotional trigger so we need his back on."
Once they arrived at Skull Bar, and Olivia found a perfect parking spot, the two exited out of the car, slamming the door behind them. Olivia pulled open the bar door and came to face with Caroline, Stefan, Matt, Tyler and Lucas.
Matt and Tyler were crouched down on the floor as the blonde Donovan had a cloth covering a wound in his stomach, his blood filling the white of the towel.
"What the hell." Jace muttered at the sight before them. Olivia looked at him before muttering to him, to hide since Lucas doesn't know he was here. Jace nodded, and hid towards the side, where he couldn't be seen.
Olivia quickly rushed over Matt as Stefan smirked, "Look who decided to join the fun."
"Tyler, what the bloody hell happened?" Olivia asked, ignoring the three humanity-less vampires.
Tyler looked up at her for a second before his eyes trailed over to Stefan, Caroline and Lucas, who looked entertained by the sight of them. "They happened. Can you do something? Give him your blood?"
Olivia nodded, bringing her wrist up to her mouth taking a bite and handed her wrist to Matt, who only refused. The hybrid panicked sending a look to Tyler.
"I don't want vampire blood." Matt refused.
"So, for those of us keeping score, if Matt dies, are you gonna start peeing on fire hydrants again?" Caroline asked, a chuckle escaping her lips.
Olivia rolled her eyes, turning to look at the blonde, "Shut up, Caroline."
Caroline scoffed, before turning to look at the boys, "I don't think I heard her correctly. Did she tell me to shut up?"
"I think she did." Lucas nodded, confirming the words that left his best friend's mouth.
"We can't have that." Caroline smirked, turning to look at the two boys, "Either of you would like to do the honors or should I?"
"I think you should let me take care of this one." Stefan smirked, rushing towards his girlfriend, sending her towards the wall and brought his hand up to squeeze her throat.
Olivia noticed Jace was about to step in to which she shook her head. "Stefan—"
"Just a little tighter." He said, tightening the grip her had as she looked up at those green eyes.
"You seem to forget, that I'm much stronger than you." Olivia coughed out, a small smirk on her face before she quickly snapped his neck, his body falling to her feet.
She immediately grabbed a wooden chair and broken it in half, throwing it towards Caroline's leg causing the blonde to let out a groan. Olivia rushed towards her friend and grabbed another piece of the wooden chair and stabbed it right into her back.
"What the hell." Caroline muttered, unable to take out the stake that was on her back. Lucas rushed over to them, trying to help the blonde but Olivia stopped him.
"Don't ever mess with a Mikaelson, lucky for all of you, you guys are my friends so I didn't kill you." She rushed towards him and pushed him against the wall. "Lucas, turn it back on."
"You're pathetic." Lucas spat, "Trying so hard to get us to turn it back on. I deserve this, after all I did die because I saved your ass."
Olivia narrowed her eyes at him, "It was not my fault, we both know that."
"You're right." Lucas nodded, "It's mine, for ever befriending a Mikaelson. All you guys ever do is ruin everyone. Loving and caring for you guys is a death sentence."
Olivia let go of his hold and looked down at her feet before glancing back up at him. "Remember Jace?"
Lucas chuckled, "Jace knows I'm dead."
"But you're not." Jace voice suddenly spoke up, walking towards them, making his appearance. "Hey, bro."

It felt like forever for Lucas to speak up, he just stood there staring at Jace Hastings in front of him. Stefan's body was still on the floor while Caroline rolled her eyes wanting to stand up but couldn't since she couldn't reach the stake that was on her back.
"You're not real." Lucas shook his head, turning to face at Olivia, "This is your lame attempt to get my humanity back on."
"I didn't know you were alive until Olivia came to get me." Jace informed Lucas, "I remember the last time we spoke, it was decades ago. You were on your way to New Orleans but I tried to stop you. Luke you're one stubborn person you just had to make sure Olivia was alright having heard of the infamous vampire hunter that had arrived to the city. You died for her. I lived every day for you, always thought about 'what would Luke do?' in certain type of situations. You're my best friend, Luke."
"Lucas, please turn it back on." Olivia pleaded. Lucas shook his head remembering the times he and Jace has spent. Jace Hastings was his brother, in one swift moment the Hastings vampire closed his eyes before opening them once again.
He let out a smile and stepped forward wrapping his arms around Jace. "It's good to see you, Jace."
Olivia smiled, seconds later Stefan rushed behind them, and took out the stake on Caroline's back. She quickly got up, and narrowed her eyes at them.
On perfect cue, the doors opened, bringing everyone's eyes to the door to see Damon and Lily Salvatore standing there. Stefan's eyes went wide, not leaving the two figures.
"Who's that?" Caroline asked rudely, confused.
"It's my mother." Stefan replied, continuing to walk towards them but stopped at a good distance.
"Come on. Get him out of here." Damon gestured to the boys in the room, throwing his keys over to Tyler, "Take my car."
The boys left the bar, leaving the rest inside. Olivia nodded to Damon, silently telling him that Lucas was back. Caroline broke the small silence and looked at Stefan, "So, you have a mother."
"I had a mom. She died, so whoever this is, is Damon's lame attempt to get my humanity back on." Stefan said, having no interest in the situation.
"Let me guess, Lucas has it back on and you're going to get it back so you guys get my humanity back on? I don't think so." Caroline picked up the same stake Olivia stabbed her with and stabbed it on Stefan's back causing him to fall to the floor, "Sorry, but thanks for the head start."
Olivia glanced at the two Hasting vampires, "Go, have some time to catch up. We'll talk later, Luke."
Lucas was unsure to leave her without apologizing but the look on her face told him otherwise. He nodded before he and Jace made their way out of the bar.
"Here, let me help you." Lily Salvatore was the first to volunteer to take out the stake as she crouched down and took the wooden stake out. Damon and Olivia moved to the back, observing the two, hoping bringing Lily Salvatore to the present would be worth it. "I'm sure you have so many questions."
"Well, the fact that you haven't aged a day answers the big one." Stefan replied, making an attempt to run away but Damon stopped him.
"I'm a ripper." Lily blurted out which caused Stefan to turn around to face her. "All of the guilt you've carried for your lack of control, it's my fault, not yours. You get it from me. That's why I had to leave. I was so new to the bloodlust, I was afraid I would hurt you and your brother. The last time I saw you was the day of my funeral. You weren't imagining it, I was your angel. If only I'd be there to see you grow into a young man. To protect you from your father's temper. But, I was so ashamed of the things that I'd done. Of what I'd become. By the time I got my appetite under control, and was coming back for you and your brother, I was hunted down and banished to a prison world by the Gemini. The one thing that helped me get through being trapped in that awful place was the hope of seeing my sons again. I know I can't make up for abandoning you, but we hav all eternity for me to try. Your angel has returned to you." She placed her hand on his cheek, "And I will not leave you again."
In that moment, Stefan shut his eyes finding the switch he switched a couple days before opening them once again and brought his mom into a hug, "Mother."
"My sweet, sweet boy." Lily whispered into his ear and hugged him back.
Olivia's phone ringing caused the two to release one another as she silently excused herself, exiting the bar, bringing up her phone to her ear.
"Lijah?" She answered.
"She's here." Elijah immediately revealed, not having time for greetings. "Dahlia is here, Olivia."
"I'm on my way." Olivia answered, quickly hanging up her phone walking down the street and towards her car.
"Olivia." Stefan called out for her, hoping she would turn around. At the sound of his voice she turned around. The Salvatore vampire walked towards her.
Olivia softly smiled at him, bringing him into a hug. "I missed you."
"I missed you, too." Stefan nodded, before he pulled away. Their lips connected in a swift moment, a sensual of bliss passed through them.
Olivia pulled away and leaned her forehead against his, the two letting out a content sigh as they smiled at one another.
"I love our little reunion but I'm leaving." Olivia revealed, causing Stefan to furrow his brows in confusion. "Remember Dahlia? Well, she's there and I'm going to be gone for a couple days, but I promise. I'll be back just in time for the wedding, wouldn't want you going without a date."
"Just come back home, soon. Okay?" Stefan asked, caressing her cheek with his thumb softly, "I don't know how powerful Dahlia is but—don't die."
"I won't."
