Chapter:48

The chirping of small sparrows broke Seth from his deep sleep. He rubbed his eyes and stared at the clock that hung on the wall. He got up from his bed realising the fact that he slept too long.

He didn't take a shower as he was really out of time. He quickly got dressed and went to the kitchen to check out the breakfast. He grabbed a sandwich and shoved it into his mouth in hurry and set out for his school where the light of his life was waiting eagerly for him.

Emy went to school along with Kate. On the way they met James. Kate's eyes shone with eagerness and searched for Seth.

"Seth hasn't woken yet. He didn't sleep well. So I didn't wake him up today." James told her.

Kate's face fell down with disappointment. She really wanted to see her mate.

"Don't worry, Katherine. He will come soon. " James comforted her seeing her gloomy face.

Kate nodded in agreement. Just then Seth came running. He was so happy to see Kate. His eyes sparkled as a result.

James coughed to distract him.

"Am I on time?" Seth asked.

"Yeah bro." James replied checking his watch in a mocking gesture.

Seth glared at him and demanded,

"Why didn't you wake me up, you brat?"

"Seth, your language." Emy mentioned.

"Really Emy? I still remember how you talked to the principal the other day." Seth reminded her which made Kate giggle.

Emy cleared her throat and covered her mouth with her hand and stared at the sky as if she didn't hear anything.

"I saw you turning and tossing in bed yesterday. So I didn't wanna wake up you up when I saw you sleeping peacefully." James answered.

Kate looked up at him with surprise. She never thought that Seth would be suffering her same situation.

"Anyways, you guys carry on. We have some business to do." Kate said breaking the silence and clutching to Seth's arm.

Emy gave her a wild smirk and James chuckled. As soon as they went, James pulled Emy towards him and lifted her by her waist,twirling her around. Emy shrieked in glee.

"Do you mind coming to my house tonight?" James asked tucking the hair,that was out of place,behind her ear.

"Absolutely not." She replied staring into his eyes and leaned in to kiss his lips.

"So...You didn't sleep well last night?" Kate asked.

"Nope." Seth replied.

"May I know why?" Kate stared into his eyes.

Seth sighed and held her hand tightly.

"Its hard to sleep when a beauty pops her face into my brain all night." He winked.

"And....Who might that beauty be?" Kate mocked.

Seth pulled her towards him. Her ice cold body seemed to neutralize the heat radiating from his body as she placed her hand on his chest . His heart pounded fast against his ribs. Her weird aura never mattered him anymore. All he knew was she was his.

"Do you really want me to answer that?" He asked with a seductive look.

Kate pressed her lips against his. Her cool, marble-like lips sent chills through his body.

"No." She mumbled.

Suddenly the bell rang for their first class. They separated to go to their classes saying goodbye. It was after she went, he remembered about inviting her to his house.

"Damn it! I forgot to invite her. How the hell do I forget things when she comes in front of me?" He muttered low.

Emy went to her class. Leydah, Christen and Mike were there too. But they were talking and laughing like they used to do. She felt like they never bothered about the fact that Sera wasn't with them anymore. And Emy knew why they acted so.

Compulsion.

The strong compulsion did by  James. Just then Kate tapped her shoulder,which brought her to reality. Emy and Kate missed their friend so badly. But they acted so well to conceal the pain that were pricking their inner self.

After the first class, Kate walked to her locker. She opened it and took some of her books which were necessary for her coming  classes. As soon as she closed the door of the locker, she saw someone behind it. She was startled at first, but was calm when she recognised who it was.

"Seth, you scared me!" Kate exclaimed and hit him playfully.

"Oops,sorry." Seth smirked.

"I actually wanted to tell you something." He stated.

"Go on." Kate said.

"My Dad wanted to meet you and he had asked me to invite you today evening. Can you come?" Seth asked her.

"Of course,yes!!!"she said, rejoiced.

Seth was happy to see her smile. But something inside him tried to convince him that, that was not a good idea.

Emy and Kate were fighting to stand in front of the mirror. They were trying out different dresses and make up so that they look elegant. They were so excited to meet their father-in-law.

They arrived at the Stevenson residence. Albert opened the door and welcomed them inside his home.  They exchanged information about their families and other things.

Since the time Kate arrived, Albert got a weird aura. But he didn't care about it much. Suddenly an old lady came across the door.

"Oh shit!" Seth murmured which was audible only for James. James knew what was gonna happen next and both the brothers were prepared for any outcome.

"Nancy! What a surprise!" Albert greeted her.

Nancy smiled at him and glanced at the girls. She flinched as her eyes got in contact with Kate's.

"Who are these girls, Albert?" Nancy questioned.

"This is Emerald, James's girlfriend. And this is Katherine, Seth's girlfriend." Albert introduced.

"Oh..So your favorite son is dating a vampire?" Nancy said sarcastically and annoyed.

"What?!" Albert asked shocked.

"She is a vampire." Nancy said pointing her index finger at Kate.

Before the brothers could act, Albert shifted. He was aggressive. As he was about to pounce on her, Seth shifted and blocked his father.

"Katherine, run!!!! Run as fast as you can!!!!" James yelled and shifted to help his brother.
