Chapter:29

"James?"Emy mumbled.

No response.

"James!!! Wake up!!!"Emy yelled bursting into tears.

Still no response.

Seth touched his brother's palm and held it tightly.

"Brother,come back to us. Please. We need you."Seth wept

Seth looked at Emy. She was pale and heartbroken. Suddenly he noticed the veins under James's eyes bulging.  His nose moved like it was smelling something. Seth . He asked her to hide  behind a tree so that James wouldn't see her. He knew that something was wrong with James. He went closer to him and watched him. All of a sudden his eyes flung open.

It was deep red, hiding the normal brown colour he always had. He sat up straight and looked towards Seth. His fangs protruded out. He was a vampire.

He jumped over Seth to rip him with every power he possessed. Seth was startled to see his brother like that.

"James, I am your brother. Don't do this." Seth muttered.

"Should I care?" He mocked.

Seth understood that the vampire in James's body was activated. It dominated his body when he died as a werewolf. And the things he was doing was a result of suppressing his vampire abilities for a long time.

"Okay. Now I get it . You are a vampire . So you are no longer my brother."Seth replied and pushed him away.

James fell down but quickly got up . Both of them stood face to face.

"So you wanna kill me now after trying to protect me all this time,huh?"Seth asked him.

"That was a foolish thing from my side. "He paused

"And as I am not part of your pack anymore, I think I have every right to kill you. Vampires and werewolves are meant to be enemies."he smirked.

Seth stared at him terrified.

"Brother,it's not you. It's the vampire inside you who is speaking. I know very well that you love me. And you will protect me. "Seth spoke.

"I used to love you and protect you. But not anymore. I lost my mother because of you. I lost my life because of you. Why should I care for you again?"James retorted and pounced upon Seth. 

"Goodbye Brother."James said.

As he was about to dig his fangs into him, he heard a voice yelling 'stop'.

The smell of metallic yet delicious blood thrusted his nostrils. He turned around to see Emy. She had a deep cut on her hand and blood was dripping down from it.

"If you want to kill the person responsible for the loss of your life,then kill me. I am the reason. I broke your heart. Kill me, James." She yelled.

"Go away, Emy."he yelled back

His eyes widened on seeing her. Thirst was dwelling inside him. The urge to gulp her blood was pushing him. But deep inside he knew it was his girl and he can never harm her. He felt a different feeling suddenly. The cold atmosphere vanished making his body heat up. He screamed loud letting out his frustration and charged towards her.

Seth ran towards her before James  could reach Emy to save her. James pushed him away and covered her eyes. Emy flinched. He removed his shirt and threw it to Seth.

"Cover up, stupid." He said eyeing his private part.

That's when Seth realised that he was naked and obeyed James's advice. He covered the shirt around his waist and giggled.

"How dare you behave indecent in front of my girl?" James sneered.

"I am sorry brother. I didn't have a choice."he apologised smiling in relief that his brother was normal.

Emy took away his hands from her eyes and kissed him with all the burning passion.

"Oh my God, you are alright. I was scared I would lose you forever."Emy muttered.

"I promised you that I would always be there for you." James smiled.

"I thought you would kill me."she chuckled.

"Even if I kill him",James pointed his index finger to Seth ,"I would never kill you,sweetheart."

James took her hand and examined her cut.

"How did you get this?"he enquired.

"I did it deliberately to distract you. "She replied.

"Thank you Emy. If you hadn't done this, I would have killed my brother." said James.

"What happened to you actually?" Seth asked him.

" I don't know, brother. I felt heartbroken when she told me that she hated me. I felt weak and tears were streaming down my eyes. I understood that I was dying from a broken heart. That's why I rushed outside the school. "He paused

"But then I felt everything around me spinning and I sat down. After that everything went black. Some time later I felt the atmosphere around me cold as ice. I didn't understand what was happening. I couldn't open my eyes or hear anything. And I smelt blood. I was suddenly thirsty. That's why I woke up.  But now I think my vampire side dominated me when I was about to die. And now I am healed."he said

Emy looked at him with tears in her eyes. James hugged her tight and said,

"I deserve this sweetheart. And I am happy that you are still here beside me. By the way,weren't you scared when I charged towards you?"he asked

"No."she replied.

"Why? I might have killed you." James convinced her.

"I don't care. I will really be happy if  my life is taken by the person whom I love the most."she mumbled.

James kissed her forehead  and whispered,

"You are my life, Emy.  I would never do something like that. I love you."

"I love you too."she whispered back.

Just then Seth's phone rang. James and Emy turned to him in a questioning manner.

"It's Dad. He was worried about you." said Seth

-"hello Dad."

"How is everything?"

-"James is fine. Everything is alright."

"Thank God. Just give the phone to him."

Seth handed the phone to James. He was scolded well by his father. He walked over to Emy.

"Is he a vampire now or still a hybrid?" asked Emy.

"I guess he is still a hybrid. I will find that soon." replied Seth.
