The Student Lounge

The student lounge is a newly built addition to the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, situated in the library. With the integration of No-Maj technology into school life and the ever-changing world, it is essential to adapt our perception accordingly. The Student Lounge was built in 2013 and is a welcoming space for students to meet, study, and unwind between classes. The Lounge boasts several amenities, including a large fireplace, comfortable seating, televisions, a magazine exchange, a cafe that links to the library, games, ping-pong tables, a Quodpot table, and puzzles. Additionally, the Lounge serves as a venue for student events, such as open mic nights, live entertainment, video game competitions, and departmental gatherings. During these events, we kindly request that students be mindful of their surroundings. Furthermore, the Lounge features a special entrance to the Horned Serpent Common Room and the library.

Rules: 

- Students must adhere to the Ilvermorny Student Code of Conduct.
- Be courteous towards others and respectful of all property.
- Comply with Staff instructions and/or requests.
-Be considerate during events—activities prohibited include, but are not limited to ping pong, TV usage, video games, music playing, loud conversations/socializing, and/or disruptive behavior.
-Food and beverages are not allowed in the play area and/or on the ping pong table.
- Clean up trash and personal items.
- Students are responsible for their items.
- Do not tamper with artwork, fixtures, furniture, and/or property.
- Lounge furniture must be utilized for its intended purpose — NO sitting and/or standing on tables, armrests, or chairs.
- Chairs and sofas must be LIFTED, NOT DRAGGED when moving.
- Table casters (wheels) must be unlocked when moving, then re-locked and secured.
-  Return furniture to its original location after each use.

- NO bare feet, slippers, or shoes are allowed on furniture, tables, and/or chairs.
- NO flying objects including, but not limited to balls, paper airplanes.
- The staff desk must remain in its location at all times.
- No dueling or creating magic in the Student Lounge. Take it outside!

Dear students, Please be informed that the Student Lounge may be closed or you may be asked to leave if your behavior or conduct is inappropriate and violates the Student Conduct Code and the Student Lounge Community Standards.
