Synopsis:

Xue Ling is a nine-tailed fox who has been cultivating for thousands of years but lost all his tails in a moment of capriciousness.

Tails are easy to self-destruct, but not easy to recover. In order to restore his human figure, he must struggle to destroy the plot, forcibly change the protagonist's fate, and be the cannon fodder in the first line of attack.

But why are these plots more and more irrational? The setup is getting more and more weird, and what is with this person that is showing up in every single world?

It seems that before going through all these worlds, he has forgotten some very important affairs?

Impressions: Taking a rest from MTL so chose a completely translated novel~~ This is quite good, very easy to binge read. At first, MC would try to complete the mission on his own, but on the later arcs, after he finds ML, MC would just cling on his golden thigh. There were also missions with high degree of difficulty before where his identity makes it hard to counterattack, but laters, System and author-sama seems to favor MC and just gave him simpler missions which could basically be completed as long as he gets together with ML. (Some arcs, the 'protagonist' was even completely buried by MC & ML lovey dovey life and slowly faded away/no longer being mentioned.) Its easy to tell that author-sama is trying to introduce new things to spice things up (like the plot defender or where ML would recognize the wrong MC) but in the end, it wasn't followed through and MC couldn't bear to abuse ML too much. (Hohoho~~ I think I want to read abuse-the-ML novels next.) He was just being tsundere~~ Overall, this was a good QT novel to pass the time, although it won't be one of my faves.

Arc Summary

Arc 1 - Entrusting the wrong person (Chapters 1-8) - Ancient world. MC is a sickly young master. The Protagonist is his study companion. ML is a general that MC's parents has helped before. Protagonist took MC's identity to participate in the imperial exam. Later, MC exposes him. #spoiler MC & ML did not get together in this life.

Arc 2 - Marrying the wrong person (Chapter 9-23) - Modern world. MC is a pianist. The Protagonist pair is his sister's husband and his childhood sweetheart. MC escapes abroad with his sister then comes back to revenge two years later. ML was attracted by MC's last piano performance. He also ended up adopting MC's lost niece. #spoiler They still don't get together here/didn't confirm their relationship, they just silently accompanied each other till the end.

Arc 3 - The entertainment circle's little white moonlight (Chapter 24-39) - MC is the white moonlight of Protagonist Gong. Protagonist shou is gong's little lover used as MC's substitute. Protagonist shou is reborn and wants to revenge on MC. ML is MC's big brother.PS. They finally get together here. *gasp* incest!

Arc 4 - The abandoned princess (Chapter 40-56) - ABO world. MC is the Princess married to the Protagonist gong Prince. (Accdg to prophecy, MC is destined to be "Queen") Prince gets amnesia and meets the hidden omega Protagonist shou and they roll the sheets. ML is the Empire's first Emperor who just woke up in his 700 year slumber in order to meet MC~

Arc 5 - Wrongly married royal princess (Chapter 57-71) - Ancient times. MC is a royal 'princess' married to ML by the Emperor. ML is a general and (was supposed to be) one of the Heroine's men. This is a reverse harem, with one heroine and 7 harem members.

Arc 6 - Data in love (Chapter 72-87) - MC's identity is an AI who fell inlove with Protagonist gong and helped him be a Great God in the game before being devoured by the main computer. Of course, after MC came online. He became a great god himself and broke up the Protagonist gong and shou CP. ML is also a data/virus in the game. His identity is the Sealed Devil.

Arc 7 - Criss-crossed fish life (Chapter 88-101) - Mermaid life. MC is the adopted son of the Duke Palace. Protagonist is the real son. ML is MC's ex-fiance. MC's real identity is actually the lost Emperor of the Deep Sea Folk. He can change his fishtail freely into legs.

Arc 8 - The most wronged male protagonist (Chapter 102-115) - Zombie apocalypse. MC is the protagonist gong. Hahaha... Protagonist shou is reborn with a counterattack system. ML is the Zombie Emperor. Plot defender is protagonist shou's system.

Arc 9 - Filling in for a cultivation story (Chapter 116-133) - Cultivation world. This is a novel world that was dropped by the author. MC has to protect the Protagonist this time. MC is a 10,000 y/o Tree of Enlightenment. ML is his Master.

Arc 10 - Grief-filled audio drama circle (Chapter 134-144) - CV circle arc.. MC is the lost younger brother of protagonist shou. ML is protagonist's bestfriend and used MC as substitute. In the original story, this ended as BE and MC has to make sure the protagonist couple ends up together.

Arc 11 - The ger on the Emperor's throne (Chapter 145-157) - MC's identity is an Emperor, but he's also secretly a ger. Protagonist shou is a reborn ger. His gong is a Prince who rebelled and took MC's throne. ML is the South King. MC sought his help to get back the throne.

Arc 12 - The wolf cub favored by God (Chapter 158-171) - MC is the contract beast of the Protagonist shou. Protagonist shou is an annoying 'Holy Saint' who has 3 harem members. ML is the Beast God (and was supposed to be one of them)

Arc 13 - Ore gambling nurturer (Chapter 172-188) - Interstellar Beastman World. MC is the protagonist's half-brother. Protagonist is a transmigrator supposed to embark on the peak of life as #1 Sculptor. MC breaks off relations with his family and gets adopted by the Marshal. ML is the Marshal. Twist is ML 'forgets' MC/doesn't instalove MC in this world.

Arc 14 - Counterattacking the entertainment circle (Chapter 189-206) - Twist is MC forgets about world hopping for his tails and about ML etc. The System poses as an Entertainment Counterattack System and MC will only remember everything after he becomes a Film Emperor. ML remembers things early which makes MC more eager to find the truth.

Extras - Epilogue + NSFW chapters~~

Favorite arcs: the CV/Audio drama arc - ML was particularly shameless here. Also, the wrongly married princess arc. Lol. ML was also tossed a lot on this one; and the abandoned Princess arc, ML was too OP!
