Synopsis:

As for food... In his past life, he refused the help of others because of his so-called self-respect. This time, he plans to hook up with the soft young master of Cheng Jia. At least, he must never be hungry again in this life!

Impressions: I was looking for more cute/naive MCs so I went to find the other works of the author of A Guide to Raising Your Natural Enemy. Chose this because the title sounds like a rebirth story (and it is!) First of all, we have a rebirth gong MC! which is already a pleasant surprise in itself cos I rarely find this and our MC is still very likable! In his past life, he was too proud and struggled on all his hardships alone, in the end he became a powerful person but his lover and friend betrayed him so that he will become a waste person. Afterwards, he was sent to a research institute to be experimented on. Just as he was preparing to escape, the city where the institute is, was attacked by beasts. Then he died and rebirth to the time when he just awakened his power. Forgot to say, this was set in a post-apocalyptic world. There was a meteorite that crashed on Earth thousands of years ago causing animals to mutate and the world became full of radiation, humans gradually adapted to this and has become able to use this. Anyway, ML rebirthed and went to find his shou. Lol. In the past life, when he was still weak and poor, this person offered him help but he refused it because he was too proud, but after his experience in the last life he thought what about pride? Can you eat? He remembered that when he became powerful a lot of people offered to help him but when he fell down, no one actually helped. Shou offered to help him when he was still a weak nobody, so he is the best choice! He also helped shou's family and promised to protect shou in exchange. I didn't get my naive MC but I got my naive shou!!! The shou is really cute cos MC is his first friend, he couldn't wait to give all the good things to him. He's like a puppy!!! Good thing MC is a good person so he never took advantage of him except from occasionally eating tofu. The shou is only naive at first but MC slowly teaches him about the dark side so he will learn to be cautious and protect himself. There are a lot of battles, MC goes after his enemies one by one, and learns more things he didn't even know in his past life. He also learned what caused the animal attack/beast tide in his past life and quiety prepares for it. I like that MC is a good person (?). He publicizes war skills/useful infos for the low-level radiant warriors so they can learn more life-preserving skills. He is single-minded about his revenge, cos those people really did something that surpasses his bottom line like human experiments or killing innocent people for profit. But he isn't petty on other enemies.  Anyway, this isn't purely cute and fluffy like the author's other works I've read, but I also really liked it! Now, I have another gong MC to like after The Wife is First.
