Chapter 83: Popular~Laurance~
<<Considering he isn't literally and physically there, his chapters are going to be phone conversations. I've read many dialogue books so that's how I got the idea.>>

"Hel--"
"Don't 'hello' me. You know what you did."
"Wow, I've missed you too, Van."
"Dude, this isn't a joke. Since you left, people keep talking to me. My sister, Cathy, thinks it's because I'm popular by association, which means you passed your dumb legacy onto me and I don't like it. Take it back."
"I can't just take it back. Just tell people you don't want the attention."
"Do you know the amount of social-ness it takes for me to tell someone that? I now spend most of my school days running from everyone. Anyway, enough about the terrible year I'm having so far. How's college treating you?"
"Eh. Could be worse."
"I bet."
"Still feel like ranting?"
"Yes! It's killing me not to let everything out in an explosive outburst of anger."
"Just let it flow."
"No flow! Just boom! Pow! I'm also butthurt because Cathy said if I want them to stop talking to me I should just be myself because no one likes me. Of course, that hurt like heck. But I just flipped my hair, but you know what happened after that? My hair hit Michi in the face! Then she started yelling at me about FORCING you to leave! Does she not understand how college works? After that, I went to class and I ALREADY have a failing grade! Why does the world hate me so?"
"Already? Shouldn't it just be a review of last year?"
"No, I'm talking about Magicks class. I didn't have it last year but it's REQUIRED for meif'wa to take it in order to graduate. Talk about dumb, it's not like I'm going to do magicks in the future."
"Wait, I thought you said you've always wanted to learn magicks."
"I did."
"What changed?"
"I had to give up theatre."
"Now I understand why you're upset about it."
"Exactly! I also had to give up art so I could take Meif'wa class, which is also required."
"So... the only 'elective' you have is... Spanish now?"
"Nope switched it for Japanese."
"See! That's one class that you really wanted to take."
"True. Now I only have two problems."
"Being popular and failing?"
"Bingo."
"I'm sure people will start leaving you alone if you just keep being anti-social."
"No, you don't get it. They think it's 'cute' or 'adorable' or 'funny' when I do something awkward. ARE THESE PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR MINDS?! It's not 'adorable' or 'cute' or 'funny' when I fall out of my seat while reaching for the pencil that I dropped."
I chuckle. "It's a little funny."
"... ... ... Okay, fine. It is a little bit funny but that's not the point. It's embarrassing. I'm also quitting the cheer squad."
"I thought you were starting to like it after all."
"I was but people expect popular girls to be on the cheer team. If I quit it'll show them that I'm not wanting to be popular."
"Or... they'll think nothing of it as you throw away something you actually like to do. Don't worry about everyone else, most likely someone will try super hard to overthrow you." I laugh again. "There are many people who actually want to be popular."
"Again, there's a problem. I'm a try-hard beater. If I see someone trying way too hard and I don't think they have a reason for it, I'm going to try to throw them off their game."
"Well, good luck being popular. I have to get to work."
"No... This is BOLOGNA! BOLOGNA, I TELL YOU!"
"Talk to you later, Van, I'm hanging up now."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."
