Chapter 81: Class Of 2021
~Zerenity~
Today can't be the day! It's too soon! It's way too soon! I don't want everyone to leave! This is absolutely positively bologna.
All of us were supposed to stay together forever, not end up going to different schools. Why'd you have to do us like this universe?
At least we have today, today is a jam-packed day. We have the talent show, graduation ceremony, and a party tonight.
<<You aren't going to read about the party until I get the separate books out, I'm sorry. I'll probably be out in the summer or... next year. Who knows? It's taking forever because I want to do all the chapters at once, I want to publish the finished book.>>
Life is extreme.

"So, leaving friend of mine, should we sing one last song together before you leave me in the dust?" I wonder.
"I get the feeling you're... upset?" Laurance questions.
"Yes! How dare you be a year older than me? That's so messed up." I cross my arms.
"Hey, I couldn't just tell my mother to hold me in for another year." He shrugs.
I try not to laugh but I give in. "Alright, fair enough." I walk around his room bored out of my mind. "So should we-- Ooh~! Your journal?" It was sitting on his bed open to a page.
"Wait--"
"I wanna read it." I grab it.
"No, Van, don't. You don't like it when I read your journals."
"But when it's open you do anyway, this is payback." I start reading it while running away from him.
"Okay, but--"
"Ooh, it's a song~!" I tease. Before stopping dead in my tracks as I read the lyrics.
"I was trying to--" He says slowly as he notices the look on my face.
"Did you write this recently? It was on this page."
"W-Well, yeah, but..." he trails off.
"In your mind, it isn't over. Even though we made up and we're friends again. I thought we were both okay with waiting--"
"I'm not okay with it." He blurts.
"Oh. I see that now. You could have told me."
"But you wouldn't have come back."
He's not wrong. "Well, I'm not leaving now. Sure, it's a little awkward right now but... um... I'm staying. Capishe? Do you have popsicles?" I wonder.
He blinks at my random question but nods. "I'll go get it."
There's no way to rewrite the stars, we can't change anything. We're not meant to be but I won't tell him that because he thinks we are, according to that song. I've only just got my friend back and I'm not letting him go again.
~Dove~
I knock on the to my parent's house and Dante opens the door. "Dove! You made it, it was getting late, I wasn't sure if you'd be here or not." He steps aside and lets me in.
"Yeah, it was a pretty long drive with a lot of traffic." I sigh as I walk into the kitchen and grab a water. "Did they send my graduation cap and gown here? I didn't get it at my dorm."
"Yep, here." He walks over to a box and hands me my stuff. "Did you bring something to wear to the party tonight?"
"I'm not going to the party." I make my way to my old room to change into it.
