Chapter 70: Ignore It

~Laurance~

"I was surprised they were dating in the first place," I comment on what Garroth was telling me. "She's pretty okay but he's the most antisocial person ever. How did that even happen?"

"I'm serious, it doesn't seem good. They've argued before but it didn't last long, Zane's been in his room all weekend." Garroth points out as we walk into McDonald's, basically the hang out spot for teens.

It was filled with people from our school inside, Travis and Gene were even talking outside. I didn't even know they were friends.

"You should tell him that trying to ignore it only makes it worse." I shrug. "Trust me, I know."

"Oh yeah, you have that whole Lyrvanna situation going on." He nods, at the same time, I spot Lyrvanna and Dante talking across the restaurant. It was basically a punch to the face.

Despite what I just said, I ignore it. She's not talking to me for a reason, but she has no reason not to talk to Dante, even if his constant flirting with her annoys me.

"Yeah." I jump to the next topic. "Should we order?"

Garroth looks over in the direction I was just staring before looking at me again. "Alright." He nods. "And if it helps, she looks like she's ready to assault him."

"Who?" I play it off like I don't know what he's talking about. "Want to order first?"

"Yeah, okay." He steps up to the large touchscreens that you order on. Another one opens up and I walk over to it.

~*At Laurance's House*~

Garroth and I sat in my room to eat and talk since he came to the conclusion that I couldn't stand seeing Lyrvanna in public.

**

"You aren't going to go talk to her? You aren't going to at least say 'hi'?" Garroth asks.

"No, she made it clear she just wanted to be neighbors and classmates." I eat one of my fries.

"Neighbors greet each other."

"If they pass each other or make eye contact." I open a packet of ketchup. "It's no big deal anyway."

"No big deal? Are you not seeing this? You're literally shaking."

"This food is so good I'm shaking for more," I reply honestly as I stuff another fry in my mouth.

"Excuses, excuses." He sighs. "Go over there."

"What? No."

"Go."

"No."

"I get it now, you're shaking because seeing her out of school like this is killing you."

"I met her in the summer, I see her when we walk home, I can pass by my bedroom window and see her from hers, and she used to come over basically every single day." I point out. "None of that was in school."

"This is killing you, isn't it? You can't handle it, can you? Don't worry, bro, I'm reading between all of the lines, I've got you. Grab the food, we're out of here." He stands up and walks outside.

"Garroth!" I chase after him.

**

"These fries actually taste good today." Garroth points out.

"I told you that's why I was shaking." I shake my head.

"That's still an excuse though."

I sigh giving up and trying to make him believe me. I miss talking to Lyrvanna and seeing her but I don't go insane seeing her in public. I don't think I'm that obsessive.

"I can't believe I'm changing the topic back to one eye, but weren't we talking about Zane's situation?" I question.

"Right." Garroth nods and springs into a frenzy. "I haven't seen him come out of his room for days, Zane has had moments where he was closed off and wanted to be alone before, nearly on a regular basis, but I think this is different. What's going to happen now?"

"They'll talk to each other on Monday," I respond surely.

"Right! Monday! They have classes together, they'll talk to each other at school. Maybe."

"Only time can tell." I shrug and stuff my face with fries. Seriously, what did they put in them to make them taste so good? I'm already ready to go back to get some more. Garroth nods agreeing to my statement.

Dude, I had no ideas. I didn't know what to do this chapter like, at all. I don't know, I think I've burnt out guys. I have nothing else to write about.

Chapters may get shorter, I'm sorry. I'm not sure what to write anymore. Maybe because it's 1 am on a Sunday night. I don't have school tomorrow though but still.
