Chapter 58: Special Spot
~Lyrvanna~

"Are you sure it's safe up here?" I gulp as I look down the edge of the building.

"Of course it is, I told you I come here all the time," Laurance says surely as he lays down a blanket for our picnic.

"Laurance! This is stupid! I thought your special place was in the park! On the ground! Where it's safe! Who has a picnic on the roof!?"

"We do!" He beams and continues setting it up.

A small breeze of air begins to blow, it feels colder than ever causing me to shiver, "And the wind is intense up here!"

"Take my jacket." He takes his jacket off and attempts to hand it to me.

I look from the jacket, to him, to the jacket, and so on. I finally break my trend. "But that's a Letterman Jacket."

"So?"

"You're supposed to give those types of jackets to your girlfriend."

"Are you saying you don't want to date me?"

"That's never going to happen."

"You never know." I roll my eyes at his comment. "Do you wanna freeze or not?"

"Whatever," I grab the jacket making sure Laurance can't see my face because I know I'm blushing.

"Look, it's starting," He looks out into the distance.

I follow his lead and stare out that direction to see a beautiful sight. The arrangement of the sun painted a mirage as it said its goodbyes for the day. The clouds tiptoed into the scene adding to the whole thing. A beautiful orange hue flowed over the entire city dominating the blends of a faint purple and blue.

<<Dramatic much? Gosh, Editing Author~Chan doesn't like this>>

"Oh my Irene." I gasp I walk closer to the edge of the roof making sure not to get too close.

"I know right," Laurance comes over standing next to me.

I turn to him, "Do you always watch the sunset here?"

"Only to clear my head, but this time it's because I wanted to bring you here," He smiles softly.

I roll my eyes. "I bet you say that to all the girls." I joke.

He turns to look at me with a shy smile and a light red blush. He steps closer to me as he shakes his head slowly like he's being careful, my heart now pounds hard in my chest, I clear my throat and turn back to the sunset trying to stay calm.

"Lyrvanna, I promise you, you're not just the only girl I've brought up here, but you're the only person I've brought up here." Still barely not being able to breathe, I turn back to him. Softly, he says, "You're special to me."

I gulp hard before whispering, "I am?" I don't mean to whisper but I just can't get my voice to get very loud.

He tucks my hair behind my ear, "Very." I don't notice we're leaning in until we're inches apart. Even then I'm not sure what happens next. My eyes flutter up to look into his eyes, time begins to slow down and I can only sense my heart beating, that's when Laurance closes the gap between us.

...H-He kissed me...

Instead of kissing back, I freak out. I pull away and back up a little. "I-I gotta-- I, um, I gotta go." I dash through the building doors and down the tons of stairs.

He kissed me!

We kissed!

What was I supposed to do? Kiss back? Am I even sure I like him yet?
