Chapter 42: I Told You So

"Laurance," I stop abruptly in my tracks as we were about to go inside his house, "I-I, um." I stare my house.

Laurance puts a hand on my shoulder, I look over at him to see him smiling slightly at me. "Go."

I begin hesitantly making my way to the door but halfway there I gradually begin to sprint. My hand lifts to knock but I freeze. What if they're all mad at me now and it's not only Jackson who's mad anymore?

I brush the thought aside and knock on the door. The door opens revealing Jackson. Of course he'd open the door. We stand there just looking at each other, my heart pounds hard against my chest anticipating what's going to happen next.

To my surprise— and relief—, he pulls me into a hug. "I'm so sorry Lyrvanna, I didn't mean it. I really didn't." Jackson says softly. Not being able to say anything, I burst into tears.

"Jackson~Kun, who was at the—" I pull away from the hug to see Kawaii~Chan at the door. "Lyrvanna~Chan's back!" Kawaii~Chan yells. This time she's hugging me though we see each other every day at school.

"Lyrvanna!" My younger siblings shout as they hug me along with Kawaii~Chan.

"I was so worried! Where were you?!" Mom exclaims also hugging me.

"Come in! Kawaii~Chan will make Lyrvanna~Chan's favorite cake to celebrate!" Kawaii~Chan squeals.

Everyone rushes inside and I turn to Laurance with a smile. He smiles and mouths, 'I told you so'. I roll my eyes playfully before mouthing, 'Shut up'. I skip inside.
