Chapter 62: Zerenity, Choose

"Dante! Why is your phone in the microwave?" I call out.

"That's where I put it!" Dante exclaims before speeding into the kitchen and grabbing his phone from me. "I was looking everywhere for this!"

"How did it get in the microwave?" I rephrase my original question.

"I don't know, last week it was in the toaster."

"That just means you need to stay out of the kitchen."

"I'm rarely in the kitchen, I'm too lazy to make food."

"So you make your phone instead?"

He's silent for a while before deciding, "Yes."

"You need help." I roll my eyes as I grab a cereal bar and make my way to my room. When I open the door, I nearly jump out of my skin. Zerenity and Lyrvanna are just sitting on my floor staring at me. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

"That's not how you greet your guest, Dovey~Chan." Zerenity folds her arms.

"I don't even know how you guys got in!" I exclaim.

"Dante let us in." Lyrvanna shrugs.

"Oh, yeah! Dove!" Dante shouts. "Zerenity and Lyrvanna came over. I think they're in your room."

I scoff. "Yeah, thanks for the heads up!" I roll my eyes again.

"See!" Zerenity beams.

"That still doesn't explain why you guys are here." I decide to walk into my room fully. I know I'm going to get nowhere with this.

"Can't friends come to visit a friend?" She wonders.

"Yeah, as long as they give a heads up first. What would you have done if I wasn't here?"

"Called you and asked if you could come home or we'd hang out with Dante."

"If we had to hang out with Dante, I would have gone home." Lyrvanna shakes her head.

"I thought you didn't want to be anywhere near your house right now?" Zerenity wonders.

"I don't, but seeing... my neighbor... from my bedroom window is better than being flirted with by Dante."

"Oh no... Lyrvanna! As your mentor, you're supposed to tell me everything." Zerenity sighs pulling out her phone. "How many times a day do you spy on... your neighbor?"

"Not too often and it's not spying! It's... just coincidentally seeing into his room and accidentally watching for... half an hour three times a day."

She sighs again as she types on her phone. I squint my eyes at them. "What are you two even talking about?"

"Lyrvanna asked me to be her avoidance mentor because she likes Laurance and Laurance likes her but she doesn't want to date him and she feels like she's going insane," Zerenity explains.

"Don't say his name!" Lyrvanna shushes her.

"So... you two like each other but you don't want to date him?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Correct." She nods.

"Are you dumb?" I scoff.

"What?!" She jerks her head in my direction.

"Why not date? There's nothing stopping you!"

"Uh... yes there is! Age-difference, college, I'm not a relationship person--"
