High School Mayhem

"Ice! Ice! Ice!" The other two and I shout.

"Here we go!" Lyrvanna and I both shout as the music begins to play.

Okay, it's just dancing, Zerenity... don't fall on your butt. It'll be fine!

We go with the beat doing a fairly simple dance move. We slide to the right while looking right before looking forward and hopping, then we do the same thing for the left and repeat until the song is over.

"Who's idea was it for someone to lead anything other than the start off?" Jess asks after looking between the judges.

Lyrvanna and I look at each other as the other two girls point at us like the speed of lightning.

"Lyrvanna and Zerenity, right?" She asks. All we can do is nod. "Okay, thank you, you four may take a seat." Jess and the other judges begin scribbling something down.

"I thought they'd like that idea, it was originality." Lyrvanna covers her face in her hands.

"It'll be okay," I say but what if we don't make the team?

After the tumbling/flips portion of it, it was time to go. I walked out of the gym to see Travis waiting for me with gummy bears. "These are for the new cheer captain." He hands the candy to me.

"I doubt I'll be cheer captain or even on the team at this point but I will take the candy." I open the bag and munch on the candy with a frown I won't be able to turn upside down.

"I'm positive you will, it's like I can see the future." He smirks.

"Is that a bet?"

"You bet it is! Loser gives the winner 20 bucks?"

"And three bags of candy!"

"Someone seems confident they're going to win."

"Oh, I know I'm going to win."

"Well, you're wrong because like I said, I can see the future."

"In your dreams!"

"You'll just have to wait until the results are posted to realize but you will be cheer captain." He smiles as he stands tall, well, as tall as he can as he looks down at me.

I can't believe this.

I'm the cheer captain?

I thought I would have for sure not made the team because of what Lyrvanna and I did. I wonder how she did.

Lyrvanna Faith: Co-Captain

She's co-captain?! I bet she's going to die when she sees this. I start looking around for her to see her walking up. I want to psych her out though.

I slump over to her as the corners of my lips turn downward. "Hey."

"Uh, hey? Everything okay? Did you already see the list?" Lyrvanna questions. Her voice trembles as she tries to remain calm but I can tell she's panicking.

I stop in my tracks as I dramatically look up at her, Laurance has already stopped and is looking this way too. "Yeah, I saw the list. I guess maybe deep down I knew this would happen but... it's something you have to see yourself."

"Um, I-I can't, there's no way I can get myself to go over there." She gulps staring intensely at the poster board.

"Hey, it'll be okay," Laurance squeezes Lyrvanna's hand. My eyes widen larger than I ever thought they could. Woah, I'm just realizing they were holding hands. <<Author~Chan while editing: Wait, what?! Why are they holding hands?! When did I write this? Did Kawaii~Chan hack my account?!>>

"Um, okay, alright. I'll go. I'll be right back." She slowly walks over to the board as she fiddles with her fingers.

When she gets there you can visibly see her stiffen, everyone turns to look at her when an ear piercing squeal escapes her mouth. Not caring or noticing she runs back over to us as soon as we're in view she stops. "I can't believe you tricked me like that!" She laughs. "We're the freaking captains!" She squeals and practically runs and jumps into Laurance's arms.

He spins her as she giggles. "Captains?!" Laurance questions.

"Yep! You're looking at the co-captain herself!" Lyrvanna smiles as he still holds her.

"Congrats!" They stand there hugging for a while.

Okay, there's definitely something going on here. Are they secretly dating? <<No but I have no clue what's going on either! Did I write this chapter when I was half-asleep? Probably>>

Feeling awkward, I clear my throat, "So," they stop hugging and turn to look at me, "I'll, um, see you guys later. I need surprise Travis and tell him too."

"Okay! See you and I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU~!" Lyrvanna squeals again.

"I'm so happy for you too! Thanks for the pep talk that day too." I say.

"Thanks for your pep talk too." She laughs.

"No prob! Bye!"

"Bye!" Lyrvanna and Laurance say in unison.

Obviously, there's something more than friends going on here. I HAVE to find out. <<I'm with ya girl! WE NEED to get to the bottom of this>>
