It's not nice to abandon someone who needs you. Joji knew this well, he was always the abandoned link. No one ever bothered to stick around, all saying that they just didn't want to bring him down. But he knew it was the opposite.
Ian was the first person who didn't leave him in a year. Joji started to push him away, trying to sever the tie before Ian could hurt him. Joji thought Ian didn't notice but he did. And when he confronted Joji about it, the smaller couldn't help but cry. Ian comforted him for awhile, before dropping the topic.
The next day Joji didn't answer any phone calls, and Ian drove over to see if he was okay. Joji was okay, if okay meant alive. He was sitting in his boxers watching tv, with a tear streaked face. Ian couldn't get a word from his mouth, and decided it would be best to leave him be.
The next day, Ian went over again and tried to talk to joji, getting the same response. He huffed a sigh before he leaned down to kiss him square on the lips. "I'm not leaving you, I don't want to." He said and sat down beside him. Joji's face flushed and he leaned back until his shoulder was snug against Ian's. "Thank you," he muttered.
