What is this?

As it happened, the next day, a cold, crisp Sunday, Skye was approached on the way back from dinner. She was walking alone, humming as usual, and thinking about Sirius.

Not the cheesy, "I wonder if he likes me" kind of thinking. More along the lines of how she could get them alone, and trying to remember his daily schedule.

Get up early, have a shower, mess up his hair, go to breakfast, go to class, take a nap after school or play Quidditch, maybe go outside for a smoke, then go to dinner. Do homework, go to bed. There wasn't much time when he was alone.. Unless-

"Skye!"
It was Sirius. He came jogging towards her, pulling at his tie. She couldn't help but smile.

"Sirius," she said formally. Sirius smirked down at her; he was much taller than she was. "What do you want?"

"Oh, a lot of things. I want Remus to stop being such a goody goody prefect, I want James to stop moping over Evans, I want Peter to have more confidence, I want my hair to-"

"I'm sorry I asked," Skye muttered with a roll of her eyes. Sirius laughed, grey eyes shining. "Nah, what I want, more than anything, in the whole world, is you to go on a romantic dinner with me."

Skye gulped suddenly. Of course she wanted to, more than anything, but something held her back. Sirius looked immediately panicked.

"Do you not want to? Funny that, most girls would jump at the chance to go with me," Sirius smirked. Skye rolled her eyes as they walked.

"I.. Yeah, it would be great, but-"

"Ssshh!" Sirius hissed.
"What? What is it?"
"Filch. C'mere, quickly!"
Sirius grabbed her arm gently and pulled Skye around the corner, into a stuffy broom cupboard.

"Well this is dodgy," Skye laughed. "It looks like we're about to shag each other."

"We can. If you want," Sirius said, and Skye could hear the smirk on his voice. She smacked him lightly on the shoulder.

"No, Sirius. We're-"

Skye was cut off. Her breath was cut short by Sirius crashing his lips against hers, gentle but passionate. Skye was taken aback at first but soon she melted into the kiss, her heart fluttering I'm her chest. Her hands slid into his hair and Sirius' arms went gently around her waist, holding her close. She leaned up on her tippy toes and deepened the kiss, the two of them now impossibly close.

Finally Skye broke away, looking up at him, her hands on his chest.
"We shouldn't be doing this," she said. Sirius smirked.

"We shouldn't be doing a lot of things, Skye."

"No I mean.." She couldn't help but laugh. Sirius leaned in again. Her heart leapt but she pushed him away. She had to. For now at least.

"It's only Filch," he argued, "what could he do?"
Skye shook her head but kept her hands on his chest, not pushing him away but keeping him as close as possible, relishing in the warmth and intimacy.

"Not Filch. It's not about him it's.. I can't take this, Sirius, this.. Snogging in a broom cupboard, or the Quidditch pitch, this doesn't mean anything-"

Sirius grabbed her hand, his large hand enveloping her own over his chest. He spoke softly.
"Skye.. Please. Don't do.. This."

"What's 'this'?"
She asked him. Sirius smiled down at her.

"You! Being difficult and insecure and not letting yourself do what you really want. I know, Skye, what you really want," he said. Skye couldn't deny it- couldn't even say he was being cocky because he spoke the truth. She smirked up at him and leaned in, grabbing his shirt this time.

"Cocky shit."
