Chapter 75: Love Box

While still driving in the bus, Seungri, who was sitting alone, looked through the window as he was lost in his own world

I still keep thinking about that night. Did I make the right choice?

At the New Year's party:

After the 4 second countdown and once everyone congratulated each other, Tablo, his band mates, Gummy and Teddy all left pretty soon.

"That was awesome!" -SoHee said, refferring to the song the boys and Bom performed earlier

"Yeah!" -Minzy agreed

"Maybe we can use it for our debut?" -Taeyang suggested

"Not fair! I came up with the chorus!" -Bom said and they laughed

"Fine, fine. We can have you sing the chorus." -Taeyang said and Bom smiled prouly

"It's a good song, but you heard The President. He wants us to make R&B and Hip-Hop songs. This one is too... normal?" -GD said

There he goes again with his bossy attitude...

-Seungri thought to himself as he rolled his eyes. Then he glanced at CL who was sitting with Top and Hyuna. The three of them were laughing

What the hell... I though she and Hyuna hated each other?

Then, he glanced at Sunmi who was smiling at something Daesung said

God... she's gorgous....

As he was looking at her, she glanced at him and smiled

Aish! Why does she have to do this to me?!

"Seungri, can I borrow that?" -Sunmi asked as she pointed towards his guitar. Seungri raised his eyebrow

Silly me... I thought she was looking at me because she likes me

"You play?" -He asked as he handed her the guitar

"Uh, no... Maybe you can teach me?" -She said as Seungri glanced at Top, Taeyang and Daesung who were exchanging looks

"Uh... sure..." -He said awkwardly as he looked at CL, expecting to see a reaction from her, but she complitely ignored what was happening since she was still talking to Hyuna

Really? Nothing?

Seungri sat behind Sunmi who was holding the guitar

I will make you jealous, CL. I will

"You're holding it wrong." -Seungri said as he placed his head right next to Sunmi's as he was pretending to help her.

"Can you teach me a song?" -Sunmi asked

"Yeah. Bass lines are the easiest to play." -He said and then played the bassline to "Tell Me". At this point, his head was resting on her shoulder. The oters looked at then in disbelief, but Seungri only looked at CL, who didn't seem to mind it at all

Really?!

Sunmi played the bass line and she looked at Seungri with a smile

"That was great! You're a natural!" -He said, even though he didn't pay much attention to what she was playing. Seungri glanced at CL again. There was still no reaction

It's like she's doing this on purpose! I bet she is!

"Hey, Sunmi..." -Seungri said as he stood up "...Would you like to take a walk with me?" -Seungri said as he offered her his hand. She grabbed it and he picked her up, but he purposely pulled her in and their noses were almost touching. Sunmi blushed and Seungri smirked. He glanced at CL who was looking at them. She and Seungri exchanged looks, but she looked away and started talking with Hyuna again. Seungri chuckled

Got you, baddest female...

"Shall we?" -Sunmi asked and Seungri nodded as they walked away. Sunmi held Seungri's hand while they were walking through one of the parks that was empty.

"I'm really glad we got to celebrate together. You guys are really fun to be around." -Sunmi said and Seungri just smiled

"Is something wrong, Seungri? You haven't said a word since we left..."

Ah! I hate this whole situation!

"Sunmi... I have be honest with you..." -He said and her smile faded

"I like you. I really, really do." -he said

"...but..." -She said and Seungri sighed

"But I'm in love with someone else. Someone who couldn't care less about. Someone who I know will never feel even close the way I feel about her."

"Is it CL? Because I saw you looking at her the whole night." -Sunmi said and Seungri could hear the slight anger in her voice.

Wow... was I that obvious?

Seungri nodded and Sunmi sighed

"Yeah... this isn't my first tome something like this has happened... Silly of me to think that someone would like me, huh?"

"Sunmi..."

"No, it's okay... I-I'm thankful that you're honest with me, but in the same time... now I can't help it but think that all you did and said to me was just an act to make her jealous."

"It's not like that. I really did want to be with you. I--"

"Like I said. It's okay. Really. I won't be bothering you anymore. Please tell the girls that I'll be heading home." -She said and started walking away. Seungri sighed and grabbed her hand. She tried pushing it away, but he kept holding it

"Let go."

"No."

"Why not?"

"I want you to dance with me." -He said and she chuckled

"Seriously? After everything, you expect me to--" -She tried saying but Seungri quickly pulled her in and gently sang a melody to her ear as he swayed her:

He sang and she smiled as she rested her head on his shoulder

It's small but I put our love here

I decorated it with a ribbon that you liked
I put the scent that you like on it too

This melody sounds sadder especially today

He sang the melody one last time and he looked at her face which was covered in her tears. He wiped them away and she smiled

"You're such an asshole, you know." -She said as she laughed

"How can I hate you after that?" -She asked and he laughed

"I don't want you to hate me. I want you to remember me as the guy that danced with you on New Year's eve. Not as the asshole who hurt you." -He said and they stared into each other's eyes

"W-Was that song for me or for her?" -She asked

"You." -He said and she smiled but a couple tears streamed down her cheecks

"Thank you for that... I hope you'll be happy, Seungri. You deserve all the happiness in this world." -She said and Seungri swallowed hard. 

"Goodbye." -She said and he nodded as she walked away
