Jill's POV

Hunter and I hadn't spoken last night, when I'd eventually figured out the kettle and gotten upstairs, Hunter had already been fast asleep. I didn't want to disturb her, I never could when she looked so peaceful.
But it did teach me that I still wasn't completely settled into England because those kettles still confused me.

But when I'd woken up this morning, I felt Hunter wrapped in my arms, I'm not sure when it had happened but during the night we'd clearly somehow found our way to one another.
I think she and I were a little like magnets; opposites poles attract and you couldn't find two people more different that Hunter and I. I was quite a simple person, chilled out and non confrontational whereas Hunter left the universe questioning everything, she almost treated the world like her own personal playground and it was a maddening journey to watch. Terrifying but so fascinating that I'd never pull my eyes away. But those two opposites somehow always found their way back to one another, I think even deafened and blinded I could find Hunter in a room.

"Morning," Hunter whispered, her voice brassy.

I lifted my head, I couldn't help but smile when I saw her, "Good morning. Good sleep?"

She nodded, burrowing her face back into me, "It's so bright."

I chuckled, "Probably because the sun is shining."

"Probably," Hunter replied sarcastically.

"Any plans for today?" I asked.

She shook her head, "Stay in bed forever."

I felt my chest deflate a little, I knew I needed to get Hunter out and somewhere she loved, a place instantly came to mind, "We do have plans."

Hunter lifted her head, greeting me with a confused look, "We do?"

I nodded, "Yes, so come on, get up."

Hunter groaned, "What are these plans?"

"It's a surprise," I grinned, hoping to intrigue her a little; Hunter was a girl who loved games, if you threw in some element of the unknown, she'd always try and guess.

"Why do you do this to me?" Hunter complained.

"Do what?" I began to get up, searching through Hunter's wardrobe to find her clothes.

"You throw in a surprise and then I have no choice but to get up," Hunter now sat up.

I chuckled at her words, "That's always the plan."

Eventually I managed to get Hunter out of bed and downstairs to greet Nana who was cooking, as usual, the kitchen was undoubtedly her favorite room in the house.

"You're up early," Nana told Hunter.

Hunter looked at me, rather unimpressed, "Not by choice."

"Jill's a good influence on you," Nana smiled at me; she didn't know we were dating but I think she'd picked up on all the hints.

Hunter groaned, "Don't embarrass me like this," She joked.

Nana chuckled, "Don't be so silly. Stop complaining and eat your pancakes."

Nana always made me laugh, her words, even if sometimes harsh, still had so much care about them. Everyone could see how much she loved Hunter, I don't think I'd ever seen someone more proud of their grandchildren than Nana.

"You have any plans today Nana?" I asked.

Nana nodded and then shook her head, either hiding something from us but probably not knowing herself, "I'll probably do some gardening."
