This novel follows the story of the three Baudelaire kids, who in this new adventure get adopted by very singular parents, who are called Esme and Jerome. Esme is an auctioneer who sells objects and antiques, and is secretly working with Count Olaf so they can take the Baudelaires'friends, who are locked up in a cage. Count Olaf was the Baudelaires caretaker, but returns this time with the name of Gunther, so he can fool everyone in the story. The main characters soon find out what the antagonists are up to, and have to stop them soon from doing their deeds.

I would recommend this novel because it is told in a different and unique way of narration, and makes the reader want to know what will be the Baudelaires' fate and what will happen to them next.
