THE PARK. THE PARK Elara and Elena marked as their spot at 10 years old. To Elara and Elena that was their spot. If they had a secret to tell, they sat on the swings and talked about it. When they had an argument they met and traded lollipops while going down the slides. They built a fairytale around that park.

It wasn't a shock when Elena made their goodbye to the park. Their spot.

"So this is it?" Elara looked at her best friend, kicking at the woodchips below her. Elena smiled walking over to the swings to sit. "Sit," she looked at the open swing next to her.

Elara huffed and followed and sat. "What do we do? I mean I'll see you again,"

Elena smiled at her. She knew that Elaara didn't want to say goodbye because then reality would set in. The reality was that she was leaving for 60-plus years and she'd live a life where Elena didn't exist.

"What's going on with you and Klaus?" Elena asked.

Elara scoffed but she knew that talking about Klaus was better than the issue at hand. She looked to her best friend and let the tears go, "we lost the baby." Elena's face fell. Elara shook her head, "things just changed. I needed someone to blame so I blamed him and I let him blame himself. But it's not his fault or mine. I don't know how to fix it, Lena."

Elena nodded and dug into her pocket. "Go home. You left this place, you grew up. Stop holding on and go. You've got to move on," she told her. Elara nodded while wiping her tears. Elana handed her the lollipop which Elara took with a chuckle.

"I'll see you again so let me go. We're gonna be fine, they will be fine, you will be fine," Elena stood off of the swing. Elara took in the old playground still holding her fingers around the silver, rusted chains. "Are you ready to go?"

Elara did one final look before she stood up. She laid her hand on Elena's.

"Yeah, let's go."

Elara opened her eyes and slowly dropped Elena's hand. "We'll be okay," she whispered to herself before walking away.

She was the last one.

Elara looked at her friends, "I guess, this is goodbye."

Like she had done 2 years ago, Elara packed her stuff into the car. "I think it's safe to say she's a city girl," she looked at her sleeping daughter in the car. "Smalltown life just isn't for her."

"What about you?" Jeremy asked.

Elara looked around with her hands in her pockets. She shrugged, "I was," she smiled, listening to Elena. It's okay for her to grow and change from who the was. No one stays the same forever.
