"Good morning my darling."

"Morning," Melissa mumbled out.

Tom leaned over on the bed to place a kiss on Melissa's forehead like he did every morning. "Oh my." He placed his the back of his hand against her forehead and let out a gasp. "Darling, you're burning up. Are you feeling okay?"

"No," she said before letting out a loud cough.

"Okay you are staying in bed today. I'll call Becky to let her know you're not coming into the bakery today. I'm going to go wake up Olivia for school and make some breakfast and then I'll be back to check on you."

"M'kay love you," she said as she closed her eyes once more and let sleep take over.

"I love you too my darling." Tom went to quickly brush his teeth before putting on his robe and stepping out of their room to go wake up Olivia. He softly knocked on her door and when he heard no reply, he slowly opened the door and peaked in his head. "Olivia, love, it's time to wake up for school." He was surprised to still hear no reply since she was pretty good at waking herself up on time. He walked towards her bed and saw that she was still fully asleep. "Sweetheart wake up."

She finally woke up and squinted her eyes to look at him. "Daddy," she groaned out.

He furrowed his brow before placing his hand on her forehead just like he had done to Melissa. He sighed at the feeling of her hot skin. "Oh my darling, you have a fever. You're staying home today. I'll call your school to let them know."

"I don't feel good daddy," she mumbled.

"I know my sweet girl. Your mum is sick too. She's staying home today. Do you want to go rest with her while I go buy some medicine?"

"Can you carry me?" She whispered. She was a little embarrassed that she was asking her dad to carry her when she was already a teenager but when she was sick she loved to be held by her parents.

"Of course," he smiled. "Hold on tight," He put his arms under her knees and arms and lifted her bridal style. He slowly walked her over to his bedroom. They walked in to see Melissa asleep under the covers. He made his way to his side of the bed and laid Olivia down. He pulled the covers over her and placed a kiss on her forehead. "I'm going to go to the store to buy you and your mum some medicine."

"Okay daddy." Olivia was asleep before he even walked out of the room.

Tom made his way to the pharmacy and picked up some medicine, cough drops, and tissues. He also made sure to buy some Vicks Vapor Rub since he knew Melissa swore by it. After going to the pharmacy he went to the grocery store. Melissa had taught him how to make her caldo de pollo a few years ago so he bought all the ingredients he would need to make it. He also picked up a few of their favorite snacks.

About an hour later, Tom returned with bags of things that he bought for his girls. Before getting started on cooking he went upstairs to go check on them. He expected them to be sleeping. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of them both cuddled up to each other on the bed. Olivia was laying with her head on Melissa's chest while Melissa had her arms wrapped around her daughter. They were both distracted by whatever was on the television to notice Tom walk in.

"How are you feeling my darlings?" Tom said as he walked further into the room.

"Not too good."

"Like death," Olivia said at the same time as her mom.

Tom laughed at the difference in their answers. "I'm sorry you both aren't feeling well. I bought ingredients to make you guys some soup but it may be a while until it's ready so I stopped by the coffee shop to get you guys some pastries for breakfast. Everyone sends their love by the way."

Both of them beamed when he pulled out the familiar bag from behind his back. He chuckled at their excitement before looking at the television and letting out a groan at what they were watching. "Why are you guys watching this?"

"Um because it's the best," Olivia said as if it was an obvious answer.

"But you've already seen it like a hundred times."

"And I'll watch it a hundred more."

"Sweetheart I don't know why you're arguing with her. You know Loki is her favorite show."

"I'm surprised you agreed to watching it," Tom chuckled.

"Well you know I enjoy this show too and you're not too bad to look at either," she smirked. "Especially when you're kneeling with your hands on your thighs. Ay Dios mio."

"Well maybe once you're better I can give you a live reenactment," Tom said suggestively.

"Ew you guys are gross. Did you forget that your fourteen year old daughter is in the room or can you just not wait until I'm out of the room?"

"Sorry," they both chuckled.

"Well why don't you guys eat your breakfast while I go get started on the soup. And make sure to take your medicine once you're done eating. Call me if you need anything." He placed a kiss on both their foreheads before making his way towards the kitchen.

Tom tried to work quickly at preparing the soup. He cut up all his ingredients and added them in like Melissa had taught him. While it was cooking he did some cleaning around the kitchen and living room. He knew that Melissa would begin to stress if she thought about the house being even a little bit dirty. It wasn't like it ever was dirty or that Tom and Olivia never cleaned up after themselves but Melissa grew up being taught to always keep her house clean so she really took it seriously. Tom wanted to make sure that she would properly rest and get better without worrying about something he could easily take care of. When the soup was done he was pretty proud of how it came out. He knew it came nowhere close to Melissa's but it was still pretty good.

He had originally wanted to take the soup up for them to eat in bed but he figured eating hot soup on a bed probably wouldn't be a good idea. He set the table with three bowls filled with soup and he also made sure to buy bolillos at the coffee shop since Melissa insisted it is necessary to have with your caldo de pollo so you could dip your bread in it. He didn't fully understand why it was a must for her but her and the kids liked it and it was delicious so he didn't argue. He also put some water in the kettle so that they could have tea when they finished their soup. Once he finished setting the table he walked back upstairs to let them know that lunch was ready.

Tom walked into the bedroom to see them both still watching Loki. "Lunch is ready my beautiful girls. Let's go down to eat."

"Can you carry me daddy?" Olivia gave her best puppy dog eyes knowing that's all it took for Tom to do what she asked.

"Olivia you can walk by yourself," Melissa said sternly.

"You're just jealous that if he carries me he can't carry you," Olivia sassed.

Tom snorted at his daughter's comment but quickly put on a stern face when he saw Melissa's glare.

"I was actually just concerned for your dad's back. He is fifty-three years old now you know," Melissa smirked.

Tom scoffed at Melissa before bending down slightly for Olivia. "C'mon sweet girl. Your young mother can walk herself," he chuckled. Melissa couldn't help but laugh at his comment. She loved how playful the three of them were with each other.

They eventually made it to the dining area and Melissa was pleasantly surprised with everything Tom had done. He pulled out the two chairs on either side of his before taking his own seat in between them.

"Wow sweetheart. This looks and smells incredible. Thank you so much."

"Anything for my girls. When we're done eating we can go watch a movie on the couch. I already have water ready for tea and blankets on the couch. I also bought some snacks for you girls to eat later. We can cuddle the rest of the day and watch whatever you guys want."

"Can we keep watching Loki?"

Tom let out a playful groan, "Well I did say anything you want."
