Chapter 67

***Mihlali's POV.

I came back home , Joburg that is , with my parents for just a week's visit. Tomorrow I had an appointment with mom's gynae and I hadn't told Owethu because I want to surprise him today cause I know he is home. I grabbed my slingbag and went out to my uber. It dropped me off infront of the gate , I entered through the small gate since it's never locked when he's home. I could hear music playing inside , I knocked then opened the door. I was welcomed by a slim , tall , beautiful girl that was only wearing a shirt and a short.

Me : "Uhm , Hi?"

Girl : "Hi."

Me : "Is Wethu home?"

Girl : "O?"  She shouted for him , he came running down the stairs but stopped and walked slowly when he set his eyes on me. 

Owethu : "Uhhh...what are you doing here?"

Me : "Well .....surprise." I said opening my arms. He smiles faintly and gave me a cold , awkward hug. I noticed that the girl was now looking at us with her arms folded and with a not so expression.

Owethu : *clears throat*

Girl : "Aren't you gonna introduce me?"  She asked coming to stand next to him.

Owethu : "Oh yeah.. uhm Mihlali this is Ayanda , and Ayanda this is Mihlali." 

Me : "Nice to meet you."  I say offering my hand for a handshake but she just gawks at me up and down before turning to Owethu and wraps her arms around his one arm. I take my hand back.

Ayanda : "Oh kanti wuwe?"  (Oh it's you?)

Owethu : *clears throat*

Ayanda : "So baby , she's the one you told me about? The one who almost killed your child?"  I look at Owethu shocked.

Owethu : "Yeah and please stop this , I'm over it." I chuckle.

Me : "Uhm , I wil just leave."  I turn back and walk out with my tears almost falling. I try requesting an uber but I couldn't and my phone was almost out of battery. I just dial mama.

Mama : "Standwa saMama?"

Me : "Please come and fetch me mama?" I sniff.

Mama : "Okay, send me your location."  I nod. She hangs up. I send her my location and a text my battery is running out.

I walk up the road until I see a park with kids playing. I go sit by the benches. After 20 minutes , I receive a message that she's here and my phone immediately dies.

Mama : "What do you want to have?"

Simphiwe : "Meat mama."

Sphelele : "Yes , meat mamam."  She rolls her eyes.

Mama : "I'm talking to my grandchildren , not nina hawu." 

Uminathi : "Meat."

Me : "Can I have a burger?"

Yonela : "Me too"

Yonelisa : "Nami." She goes out the car with my twin sisters. The three boys start making a noise , debating about their boyish cartoons. She had fetched me with a car full of these rascals , apparently they were on their way to get some food. They came back after a while with the food.

***Landokuhle's Pov.

I had went out with Stha. We were tired of the mall so we decided to go to eKasi in Soweto. Well , Stha's grandmother stayed around that place so Stha was very much familiar with it. She took me to some Kota joint and we bought the large ones , I had never had it before. We then walked down the street to one of her friends house.

Me : "Like I really don't understand why we walking around this place when we could have just bought and sat laphana and eat."

Stha : "No , that's boring. I have to show off with you phela I'm sure these people don't know such beauty."  I laugh shaking my head cause she was just being silly. Stha was your slim , average height , big chinese brown eyes , small nose , dark skin and big afro. She is a beauty ....and crazy too.

Me : "You are such an idiot."  She smiles and winks at me. We walked around , greeting some of the people she knew and introducing me to everyone as her 'beautiful' friend. We walked to her grandmother's house. She ran into the old woman's arms who we found sitting in the lounge having tea.

Stha : "I missed you so much Gogo."  Her gran laughs and wipes her tears before kissing her.

Gogo : "I missed you too." She said smiling then turned to me.

Stha : "Oh Gogo , this is my best friend , uSimo."  I rolled my eyes at that name cause she just had to.

Gogo : "You've never told me about her."  She said standing and came closer.

Stha : "Aibo Gogo , uLando lona."  Her gran smiles widely before hugging and kissing me.

Gogo : "Oh I'm so happy to finally meet you mntanam. My Sthabiso is always talking about you. I'm very thankful for being such a great friend and sister to her."  She said smiling with tears in her eyes. I smiled back.

My friend Sthabiso is a happy soul that you wouldn't tell whenever she was suffering or hurt , she'd always make stupid jokes. She lived in Sandton with her father and her stepmom together with her siblings from her father. Her mother lived in Durban and she only visited her during the middle year holidays or see her when she'd come here on work. Her mother was married too but not anymore. Her parents never allowed her to stay with her gran although she wanted to and it wasn't like they were both hands-on parents to her.

Gogo : "now come and eat , I made some mutton curry and pap."  We followed her to the kitchen.
