Chapter Thirty-Nine : Reunion

Start from the beginning

"That would be Robyn. Um, does Marley know about the whole soulmates thing?"

"No..." Micha bit her lip.

"You should probably tell her what you told me. If or before anything else happens..." she just nodded, the air between us growing awkward. "Lets go before Robyn suffocates my ex" I started walking out, but Micha pulled my arm back.

"Oh no you don't" she broke the still air. "You have an ex-girlfriend who is going to school with you, and I'm guessing from Hazel's shitty mood, she is in on it"

"Yeah. Ana decided it was a good idea to make Hazel intollerably jealous"

"Details, details" she chided.

"She kissed me" I sighed.

"Oh god, that's always the story with you, isn't it? Someone just shows up and kisses you" she chuckled.

"Ugh, that's so true" I laughed with her. "Let's go"

"Grace! You didn't tell me Tatiana was visiting!" Cael was the first to notice us.

"If you don't let me breathe, I will be six feet under and never leaving" Ana rolled her eyes. "And I'm not visiting. You know the history teacher that went on parental leave? Well my mom wound up with the job. Small world, right?" She mused.

"No way. Levison hates me" Marley giggled happily "best. Teacher. Ever. Where is she?! We are going to go say hi!" Marley tugged an amused looking Micha by her wrist, but couldn't move the older girl. I swear it was like a cartoon. Marley had her tongue tip poking out her mouth, grunting occasionally from the effort, leaning to help one hand pull her girlfriend, the other flailing around like she was trying to swim through the air. Micha, meanwhile, looked very smug, but more amused, as she stood like nothing was happening.

"So..." Micha began with her usual unsettling smirk. "A birdie told me that you pissed off a very irritating thirteen year old second"

"How much you wanna bet the birdie was Ace" Ana chuckled to herself "and I did. As Ace's ex, it's my job to be the promoter of jealousy and all things bad in Ace's current interests. Hazel just happened to be jealous already, and I just gave her another gentle shove over the right cliff" she purred. Marley beamed and sat beside her, throwing an arm around her shoulders.

"That is why Ana is my favorite misfit. Why did you have to be straight?" Marley shook her head like it was this huge regret she had. Micha cleared her throat. "What? I'm just saying that if Ana were gay, Grace could ditch the angry psycho and replace her with the blondette we all know and love. And I would love it if you dated the teacher's daughter" Marley sighed deeply. "Too bad"

"Tragic" Micha rolled her eyes. "Is there any reason I should be staying here for the rest of the day, or can I go back home and sleep?"

"I kissed Hazel's crush" Ana reiterated.

"I'm staying" Micha decided without hesitation. "I should really just transfer into this school" she added to herself.

"Is that legal?" Robyn mused.

"Legality is a wall. People are just too narrow minded to figure out that you can just as easily walk around the wall without breaking it down" Micha rolled her eyes "Of course I can get in. I could hack into every internet enabled device in the world and upload a map of area fifty-one while simultaneously bugging their camera or photo software to always add a mustache and monocle to every image opened. All in little over a minute, if I really wanted to. And area fifty-one is a complete myth. They changed the name" she chuckled. I couldn't really tell if she was or wasn't joking about the area fifty-one thing. Probably joking. Maybe.

"That's a joke right?" Cael scowled. When Micha gave him a 'do you really think I can't?' frown, he added "dude, you so have to help me prank call people who've blocked me"

"So you're actually transferring into this school?" Robyn snorted at her boyfriend before returning her attention to the older girl.

"I guess" Micha shrugged again. "I have nothing better to do. And I love bothering Hazel"

"Don't you go to school already?" Cael asked.

"No. I go to classes at night, but those are extra curricular"

"And you want to go to school during the day?" The blond boy gawked at Micha, who laughed.

"Staying home gets boring really quickly. At least here I would have Hazel to amuse me. And you have no idea how funny it I when one of the jocks says I can't be better at sports than them because I'm a girl. Yeah, those idiots lost more green in betting than Grace did" Micha smirked, cleaning her nail casually. "Besides, its not like the work will be hard for me. You're all doing trig? I was doing calc. in middle school. English will be less pleasant, but I do speak old English. A little. And essays are easy if you have Kayla to write down what you're saying. Physics, easy; history, as long as it isn't recent, I could tell you more about ancient civilizations than Hazel could" she muttered, more to herself.

"Micha, since when did you go here?" All eyes averted to the woman walking up the stairs beside our nook.

"I don't, I just felt like visiting" she replied.

"Been a while, Levison" Marley grinned evilly.

"Oh god, not you again" the woman laughed. Normally the teachers just go in the front, but since the nook is right above the staircase behind the office, I guess it's not so surprising Ms. Levison paid a visit.

"So you're the new history teacher?" Cael tilted his head.

"Mhm" she purred with a mischievous half smile.

"I didn't know you had any qualifications for teaching history" Robyn redirected.

"I do. I have doctorates in teaching and history. I don't remember why I got them, but I have them" she shrugged. "Don't you lot have classes to get to?" She mused, checking her phone for the time.

"Yeah, actually. Marley and I have you second block, so I'll be seeing you then" I slung my bag over my shoulder.

"Have you gotten your schedule yet, sweetie?" Ms. Levison asked Ana, she knew her daughter hated being mommy-talked, and she made it clear that she was doing it to spite her.

"Yes, mom. I already got it from the nice lady in the office" Ana grumbled.

"So get to class" the woman smirked and shooed us from the nook.
